There are plenty of drink options from simple tea and coffee to boylan soda and pastries. Yes, they have macarons as well--how cute (see pics) I didn't order any but I had to grab pics to show all the goodie goodnesses. Those chocolate chip cookies could have been my night and wakeup snack but I was good and left them there. A picture last longer anyway, right? That's what I have to tell myself when I am resisting. They are in a great space for traffic as patrons come and go in the center. Staff were very accommodating as well. I'd definitely go back to sample some items with them. read more

Been here a couple times on weekday mornings - they have a small but mighty selection of food and really good coffee. My husband and I got the roasted eggplant sandwich with goat cheese and mozzarella and a caramel latte to share. The latte was perfection! So creamy and delicious with almond milk substituted. The sandwich was also really tasty, with savory eggplant, tangy cheese, and hearty bread. We actually wanted the miso soup but unfortunately learned that it's made with fish as one of the ingredients. I came here again with a colleague and enjoyed coffee and the sandwich for lunch. Definitely recommend a visit for their seasonal coffees and a yummy, light lunch on a weekday if you can swing it. read more

I have overlooked many places in my time as a Philadelphian but none so egregious as my overlooking of Vernick Coffee Bar. Hello remote workers? I've found you paradise! As someone who spends her work days inside her home with only her dog for company, stepping inside the Comcast building and pretending to be a corporate hottie going up the escalator to work was...so fun. I had a meeting nearby and was planning to hit Pilates in the afternoon, so Vernick provided the perfect getaway to send some emails and get some work done in between. Enter the Comcast lobby on 18th between Arch and Cuthbert. The security staff here is SO amazing and friendly, so ask them if you need help with anything. Simply walk straight ahead to the escalator and the coffee bar will be immediately to your right on the next floor. There's a couch area, communal tables, a bar, and tables at the back as well. Plenty of spots to post up! I was immediately gobsmacked by the pastry case. Beautiful breads, croissants, scones, cookies, and more. Since I was on the hunt for something satiating, I went for the overnight oats that were in the fridge area. This might be the most delicious breakfast I've had in Philadelphia, and I wish I was kidding. I have been day dreaming of these overnight oats and the granola they use for DAYS! Loaded with apples, berries, nuts, and seriously the best granola I've ever tasted. This little cafe is hidden away on the second floor of the Comcast Technology Center. It has a counter for take away and also seating with table service. It overlooks the first floor of the Comcast center. It's peaceful with a lot of greenery. We did take away and sat at the seating area. We put in our order and one of the servers brought it to our table the staff were very nice Split pea soup was delicious. The toaster bread was also good. The bread had an additional charge the chocolate chip cookie lives up to the hype. My friend had the yogurt parfait, which was also very good. The croissant had a nice crisp outside and a flaky inside. It's a nice place to stop for a morning cup of coffee or tea and pastry or for a quick lunch read more

I had a standard latte and the coffee cake slice. The latte was spectacular; hot, espresso-forward, and with beautiful latte art. The cake slice was meh (just okay, probably not super fresh). This coffee shop is inside the comcast building and is perfect for folks who work there. There was plenty of seating options (high chairs with tables, lounge chairs, and more). And the staff were super friendly -- despite it being a hectic time, they were very patient. I'd recommend picking up a cup of joe, if you're in the area. P.S. Finding Vernick was a bit of challenge for me because I entered the building from the westside on 19th & Arch -- it would have been much easier if I had entered on 18th & Arch and took the escalators up. read more

Sophisticated remote work destination. They made an adequate coffee and the egg bites were inexpensive and tasty. I worked from my laptop here for a few hours and the Wi-Fi was strong (and better be in the Comcast *Xfinity* Center), and they had plenty of outlets for juice for my laptop. It's impossible to not hear conversations all around you (some were pretty interesting), but I was able to get in a good groove after a while. They did not allow access to the back dining area in the morning, but I imagine they open that for lunch. Overall, I would return if I ever needed a downtown work location. read more

There was some confusion at the front desk of the hotel when I inquired if Vernick was open on a Saturday morning. Apparently during the year, they are closed on weekends but during the holiday months (this was the weekend after Christmas), they have limited hours opening at 10a. For me personally, I was having an issue trying to find where the heck this place was on the property. On the ground floor of the Four Seasons between the entrance and lobby elevators, there is a reflective door with the coffee shops name that you pass through, then immediately after that, another door. You're now in the Comcast Center public area. I was fortunate to have a kind family help as they have visited before, and had an idea on where to go. We walked past Jeff Leathem's floral area (not a display, but where they actually make some of the amazing designs), to take the up escalator to a huge lobby. From there, another set of dual escalators take you up another level to where Vernick's oval-shaped counter was on your right. As for the beverage, selections of food offerings and service, this was just average. I'll have to give credit and say since it was a Saturday and not during the busy workweek, they probably didn't have as much available for pastries as usual, but the cocoa I had was okay. A shade under $6, I almost wish I braved the rain to go to Wawa to get my usual for a lot less. Trading what I know for the convenience while staying at the hotel, I'm glad I gave them a try. Most likely, the staff also didn't want to work on a Saturday, so I probably just came at the wrong time. Their food from their cafe for lunch looks good; perhaps I should try them during the week next time. If you're staying on the premises, I'd still say give them a shot- read more

Huge fan of this place! I happened to be staging a block away from this and so glad I ventured up the escalators of the newer comcast tower to this coffee shop. It's busy with people grabbing their morning coffee and pastries and also officially attached to the four seasons. Pretty sure you could charge it back to your room since it was on the receipt. It's totally open to the public. Their coffee was great and yes they carry soy!!! I ordered a vanilla soy latte plus an amazing lemon scone. I wish I came back to try their jelly scones. I also ordered a chia yogurt which was great too. It got too rich for me to finish it all but def worth it. I can't wait to go back. The space is open with plenty of seating. Returned here again and so happy with the experience! Not only is the building beautiful and the coffee shop open and airy, but the service is great. When I came here there was an extensive line and the barista was so incredibly efficient! I tried a matcha and it was delicious. I also tried the scone with rhubarb jam and it was fantastic! Good Nitro cold brew. Excellent hand pie. I stopped in to look at the art in the lobby and decided to give the coffee bar a try. I'd heard good things. It was sleek and stylish, but the vibe is more airport concession than coffee shop due to the open concept and super-high ceiling in the lobby. That said, staff were really nice as I took my time deciding. The hand pie made me jealous of their crew's baking skills. The berry-currant filling was deliciously sweet and tart. The crust was perfect to me: firm enough to hold together in my hands while I ate, yet still flaky and tender. This is a great place to stop for coffee and pastry on the go. You get to look at a Jenny Holzer installation while you wait in line. The workers in this building are very lucky. I'd go broke if I was one of them! read more

I stopped by for a light lunch and opted to be served. Waitstaff was pleasant, attentive and quick. I had a mocha latte and traditional latte, which come in nifty double walled glass cups. High End Breakfast! Located at the base of the Comcast center and directly connected to the four seasons hotel, I usually come here at least once during my business trips to Philadelphia. It may feel odd that you are walking in with the rest of the Comcast employees to this place for breakfast, but don't feel awkward. It's worth the trek. My go to's. - Lox Croissant - all the croissants there are delicious, but this really is unique for me since i love lox on bagels and it is executed so well. - Fruit Cup - this is not a normal fruit cup. Last time i was there it had papayas, mangoes and dragonfruit. Fresh and delicious - Cold Brew - strong and great flavor. Well executed. - Corner Stone Egg Sandwich - egg seemed fresh and i always add avocado The food here is all well executed and a notch above other breakfast joints. I've had both a sit down lunch at Vernick Coffee Bar and done take out. The sit down lunch was the much better experience. I was able to sip on a glass of wine, eat a succulent roast beef sandwich, followed up by a decadent carrot cake pie. The carrot cake pie is a unique take on carrot cake that I went back for on National carrot cake day. It's awesome! My takeout experience wasn't quite so good. I had a Turkey and brie sandwich that looked better than it tasted. The bread was good but it just didn't work for me. I followed that up with a very dry coffee cake. That was very disappointing since I'm a big fan of coffee cake. I also tried the chocolate chip cookies and they are only average. You can get better elsewhere. I'll be back at some point for the carrot cake pie, but vernick coffee bar will not be a part of my regular lunch rotation. read more

Stopped by here for a quick bite. It's a little tricky to find as we came from the Four Seasons. It's on the other side of the building on the Comcast center side, up 2 escalators. The set up of Vernick Coffee Bar is absolutely gorgeous. It's a huge open floor plan with scattered tables encircling the coffee bar. The pastries are delicious and today included a delicious banana and Nutella swirl cake! They have pasta salad and other quick items to go like fruit cups. They also have sandwiches like tomato basil mozarella which looked delicious. Overall a great place and gorgeous setting to go to for a quick bite! read more

I got the cappuccino which was pretty good but I felt they didn't have a very exciting coffee bar menu. The pastries and overall esthetics seem to be more of a focus than the actual coffee. So great place to meet someone for brunch or coffee and pastry but not someplace I would come purely for the coffee. Vernick Coffee Bar fits nicely in the gorgeous, modern, and spacious lobby of the Comcast Center. Three distinct seating areas fit personalities of all types, the bar seating for casual coffee sipping and chatting with staff, the high tops in the lobby-tasing area which are good for quick conversations over coffee and pastries, and the full-service dining area, perfect for those with a little extra time to kill and hunger to satiate. First, as a coffee bar, Vernick doesn't hit the spot for me, but I'm a coffee snob entrenched in third wave preparation. They serve Caffe Umbria at the moment, which generally puts out more traditional, darker roasted beans. Thankfully, they pull their espresso shots pretty well, so the espresso isn't too bitter. Their milk preparation for cappuccinos is also very traditional and dry. I prefer a more balanced milk texture and temperature, but this preparation has a market. It's just not for me. Doesn't mean I wouldn't' get their coffee again, just that the aesthetic of the bar really fits in better with modern coffee shops than old Italian-Influence cafes, so don't get confused! Food-wise, Vernick does a great job! The "eggs in purgatory" are essentially a shakshuka, and very good! Not too spicy at all, but definitely tasty! I got the green tea, ginger, white chocolate croissant, and it was quite good. If you like matcha, this is a croissant for you! For me, it would've been better standalone, but it was almost too much for me in the context of the rest offer meal. I had to try it, though. The warm 7-minute egg over English pea hummus, cherry tomato salad, and crispy pita was awesome. A really refreshing, light, yet filling dish. I would return for this, alone! We sat in the dining area, and the service was great. Staff was really friendly, the food came out quickly, and our water was topped off constantly. Overall, we loved Vernick Coffee Bar. The service and food were excellent, and the space was beautiful. The coffee, while not my style, wasn't bad, and will please many coffee drinkers. We'll definitely be back! Enjoy! read more

There is a separate section for the cafe, which I didn't get the chance to try this time but can't wait to come back for. I loved browsing the pastry bar as everything looked incredible. I ended up ordering a the spicy miso mushroom soup, the carrot pie cake, and a cappuccino with oat milk. The soup was not only plated beautifully but so savory, and the perfect amount of saltiness. This is a fantastic place to go if you're looking for a high-end coffee bar to work at. The food is definitely a step above a cafe, and you can see the Vernick touches. The atmosphere is luxurious, yet accessible. I had the carrot cake pie, thin mint-esque cookie, and egg sandwich. All were well-executed, although I would probably not trek out here specifically to get those again. However what I was disappointed with was the limited menu for people who were not dining in the sit-down dining area. I was excited to try the oatmeal souffle and a few lunch items, either to grab and go or to continue working from the convenience of the working area. It turns out that these items are only available for sit-down dining with wait service. Understandable if you want to encourage a separate dining experience, especially with a limited kitchen. Its in the lobby on the new Comcast building, Very modern and clean, there's a great selection of deserts (block out any thoughts of carb/calorie counts) seating is kinda limited at peak times.
