Well we thought we had a minor plumbing issue but it turned out to be a major issue unfortunately! We had two different plumbing services try to fix the problem who failed prior to calling Fitzgerald Plumbing Service. Right away when Anthony showed up at our house he was polite and friendly and said no worries we can handle your plumbing issues. Anthony said he was waiting for rest of his team to arrive and Chris, Dominic, and Trevor arrived and they got straight to finding out what the plumbing issues were. Well we thought Hydro Jetting was going to solve the problem but unfortunately we had a broken pipe line underneath our kitchen flooring, which ment they would have to jackhammer my beautiful kitchen floor in a spot and also open up the wall where the washer hookup goes to replace with new pipes. So of course we couldn't believe it but Anthony showed us the pipes underneath the floor on his iPad and how over time all the galvanized pipes had eroded which was gross. They went through with a camera showed us all the pipes and Guaranteed that they could fix the pipes but it was going to be costly but the job would be guaranteed for the next twenty five years! Our home was built in 1958 and we are sure that those must be the original pipes that needed replacing. We have lived in this house 32 years and it's the first major plumbing issue we encountered, so we feel blessed. Chris and Anthony assured us that repairs were being done in a timely manner and that they had someone that would put new drywall back where they had to open the wall behind our washer and his name was Leo and he did an outstanding job on the wall in very quick time which we appreciated. Chris and the crew completed the big job after two days. Chris explained that they don't replace the tile that they had to break but they would fill the spot with concrete and leave an inch for the new Travertine Tile to be replaced. Chris said they don't replace tile but he knew someone who did tile too and gave me a suggestion which we appreciated! It was a big job and it got very loud and dusty in the house so I'll be cleaning this weekend but I have working water in my kitchen and laundry area which I'm very appreciative for. We think all of these young men were very nice and friendly and respectful of our property and had great customer service and should be applauded for their outstanding customer service. They worked well together and insured everything worked well and there were no leaks. Corina who works in the office was extremely pleasant and easy to work with. Called for a water heater pilot that wouldn't light. Tech tried to sell me a parts repair at $1,200 as the pilot spark wasn't working. However he didn't have the parts and proceeded to tell me how my water heater was "crap" anyway and would break down again. What I really needed, he said, was a new water heater from him at $3,200. I balked at this so he said he could light the pilot manually for $200. I said OK (better to have hot water while I look for other options) and he proceeded to pull the burner assembly. After 20 minutes he said he couldn't light the pilot (but miraculously now the pilot spark was working). Not sure how he could have lit the pilot anyway with the gas lines disconnected to pull the burner. I quizzed him on this and few other items related to the controller and determined he really didn't know what he was doing. I paid the $200 and said goodbye. The whole goal was to sell me a new water heater at $3,000 +. Having no hot water is no fun, so they have a lot of leverage in this pitch. I pity the older people or single women who get taken advantage of by this racket. I would steer clear of this outfit if I were you. My plumber went by the name of Leo. Let me tell you this guy was able to remove years of calcium crystalization from an eight inch sewer pipe on my property. He was quick to he was precise and explained everything to me step by step. After removal he jetted everything out to street sewer and left that 80 ft section of pipe clean as a whistle. He let us know what was going on. In the morning he had help from James who was equally as friendly. He did the rest of the work himself in the afternoon. My wife and I recently had to get our sewer lines and main water service replaced. It all started with an old rusty galvanized steel bathroom downpipe that had closed because of age and corrosion. They scoped our system and found numerous trouble spots. The main sewer to the street was also in bad shape, with 3 level changes from the house to the parkway. Leo, Jesse, and their team knocked it out in one day. New sewer and PVC on all drains and sewer. They were informative throughout the whole process. Leo also did our main water service. Our pipes were so corroded from the meter to the house that they were falling apart. Leo finished in about 4 hours, which included digging out the old pipe. Fitzgerald plumbing is reasonably priced. In summary - I now have a damaged sink that is set in broken tile that took hours of post cleanup by my entire family. I do not believe it is reasonable to expect a customer to accept. _______ I had a kitchen sink installed. I chose Fitzgerald Plumbing because I wanted to support small business in Lakewood and ratings were phenomenal. On a positive note, the technician was able to install the sink within the same day as my request and the pricing was reasonable. What Needs Improvement: Damage to surrounding tile - A premium was included in my estimate because i have a tile countertop and I was informed it would take additional time to cautiously remove and install the sink. Nonetheless, I have tiles broken around the sink. Damage to Brand New Sink - During install, caulking dried on visible top areas of my new stainless steel sink and Fitzgerald plumbing significantly scratched the sink removing it with a steel pad. The scratching is unnatural and highly visible. Cleanup - during removal of the existing porcelain sink, Fitzgerald plumbing used a reciprocating saw, sending fine dust particles throughout my kitchen and parts of my living room. The dust was so bad one of the two Fitzgerald plumbing techs had to leave the room to get air. I was in the backyard and when I heard the saw and looked in from the back porch, I was surprised at the amount of dust emanating and was appalled that they would do this without prepping for the layer of dust that would take me and my family HOURS to remove post installation. Communication/Customer Service - Post installation I reached out to Patrick (I believe is owner) to discuss my concerns with the installation. Over the course of two weeks, I left messages with office personnel requesting a call back that never came. It was never my intent to leave a poor rating and review. However, considering Fitzgerald plumbing did not return my calls, I felt there was no other way to express myself and have closure for this unfortunate experience. read more

We had a broken hot water line underneath our kitchen sink. Fitzgerald plumbing sent Leo out the next day, Saturday, to access our problem. We had 60+ year old galvanized pipes for our water lines and drains and had been having numerous issues over the last 6 months. We could have had just had the problem pipe replaced but since it was on our list we went all the way and had the house replumbed from the street in and all of our drain lines replaced also, as well as, replacing our old water heater and enclosure. We met with Patrick the owner to get a quote and work started the next morning. The staff was very thorough and professional, they did a great job and got a lot of work done in a short period of time. They also made sure to leave us one working bathroom at the end of each day so we could stay in the house. We had an old water heater that wouldn't keep the pilot lit. I called Fitzgerald and the next day at 8 am they were there to assess the situation. I could rebuild it or install a new one. We chose the new heater and within two hours the old one was removed, the new one installed and we were back in hot water. Thanks to Christopher for the good work and also for adding a washer to my leaky hose! Excellent service, good follow through - several texts confirming time of appointment, and an easy way to pay via his phone with a receipt emailed to me. The reason I would not call them again is because they overcharge & use high pressure sales. I called for an estimate for water heater descale & a/c tune up & they were able to come out the same day, which was great. The descale quote was double what I usually pay & I was charged over $100 to replace 2 filters on the a/c. Im grateful the guy told me the new ac was a closed unit & didn't need a tune up unless it want working properly. I also requested a quote to replace a kitchen sink, & another guy came out and quoted $2,600 . Do, thats when I decided to wait and looked them up.... its seems overcharging may be a pattern, so no I will not call them. Mike was kind but his company sales tactics and management acting skills are on point & fear induced sales clique got me at my low point. Their estimate was option 1 $1050, Option 2 $1750. After unsealing both toilets and using his augers to make a shitty mess in both bathrooms he now saying they need to cut into the side wall concrete etc. Option 3 $5000! In the meantime my DISABLED parents and baby boy has no access to a toilet or shower till 9 next day. They take $549 as down. Meanwhile the bathrooms has poo all over. Next day the credit app did not approve and we get left with a mess & helpless feeling. Told them my credit sucks. We will work with you. My boss is a nice guy. Said find another plumber. Valerie was very helpful and scheduled to have someone come out right away. By right away I mean they were here in less than 45 minutes. Met with the owner Patrick and he and his team assessed the damaged, gave me a reasonable quote and got to work immediatly. All my damaged pipes were replaced, the whole in my wall was patched, and they removed all the water from under my house and treated the area. Fitzgerald Plumbing provides excellent customer service even when we canceled our service appointment today. We had contacted Fitzgerald Plumbing today/Saturday at about 1:30PM because of a slow flushing toilet. An appointment was scheduled for 4-6PM. At 5:30PM the problem seemed to completely resolve itself. We called Fitzgerald Plumbing to cancel the appointment and expected a service fee charge, especially on Saturday. NOPE, no fee charge and the appointment was cancelled promptly. Everyone we talked with at Fitzgerald were courteous, patient, efficient, professional and understanding. We've had them do plumbing repairs before and will continue to use them, especially after our experience today. read more

This outfit looked highly rated, so I was surprised when they showed almost no interest in helping us with our toilet leak. We were told the parts had to be ordered (even though I could have bought them at Home Depot). After waiting two weeks, I contacted them, and after being told the parts were expected the next day, the technician had to take the old parts to a supply store to find them (so they apparently were not ordered.) To sum it up, the wrong parts were installed (don't even fit the toilet) and the fill valve immediately began leaking.
