Hired SJ Plumbing for a water Repipe, filtration installation, water heater location move, and water heater change from tank to tankless. They worked with our schedule to get started and kept in contact with us. All work was finished in a day. The patch work was not part of the contract but set us up with one to get the patch work complete. My only recommendation for future would be to remind customers it is not included so that the patch work can be scheduled ahead to happen shortly after work is complete. Although, the patchwork was only a few days after. We just covered up the outside holes until someone came. Noted a couple of issues that popped up shortly after work was done, but they came back and fixed it right up. Overall, a pleasant experience, good value, and would recommend them. read more

I reached out for project quotes on Yelp on a Sunday afternoon regarding a clogged kitchen drain. SJ Plumbing had good reviews so we booked them for the next afternoon. Booking was simple and timely. The technician was polite, wore shoe covers, and was able to fix the quickly . I took off one star for having to haggle the price. The initial quote was $250, which was not competitive with other quotes I had received or other plumbing projects done in the past. I declined the quote, which prompted the stereotypical "let me check with the office" call. The counter offer was $75, which we accepted because it seemed much more reasonable and would save us the trouble of calling out another company or trying to take care of the issue ourselves. It felt too much like the old bait and switch. The entire process of clearing the drain took approximately five minutes because my husband had already removed the P-trap and tried to resolve the issue himself. I actually feel badly for anyone who paid $250 for a quick job like ours. read more

What a morning...shower drain got clogged and backed up in to the other bathroom. I called a plumbing company (who I have used in the past) but their answering service never picked up. I appreciate his honesty and how he handles his business so I'm updating the review from 1 star to 4 stars! *** ORIGINAL REVIEW FOR SECOND VISIT*** I had a second visit for a Toilet clog. They came promptly, removed the toilet and snaked it. The process took an hour and cost a bit more than $600. The clog was cleared, but the aftermath was a nightmare. There were "human waste" spreaded & splashed on the floors, which originate from the equipment he used to do the job, not our toilet. These were avoidable if either the equipment was cleaner or the user handled them better. Anyway, the guy used a cloth to wipe the mess, and that's it. I had to clean the bathroom AND the entire home because he stepped on the mess and spread them throughout my home. However, I didn't decide to write a bad review until I had a Home Inspection done and the Inspector pointed out the toilet was not reinstalled up to code. Apparently the base of the toilet needs to be caulked, and if you want to leave it open to detect leaks you can leave part of it open, not all of it. And mine was NOT caulked at all after he reinstalled it. All in all, that was more than $600 for an hour's work. Would've been barely acceptable if it was done properly. But nope, too many problems. read more

Within an hour of calling for a leaky bathtub faucet, Sean was here at my door to fix the problem. He was very professional and explained the situation to us in terms we could easily understand.
