This was honestly one of the best surprisingly excellent meals I've had while traveling! We stumbled across Fitzgerald's while skiing at Mount Bohemia and stopped in without a reservation not expecting fine dining. The view is absolutely spectacular! The food is well prepared with quality ingredients and presented well- definitely fine dining on the shores of Suoerior!

This was my first time dining here as a special birthday treat given to me by my friend. We had reservations so we were able to sit by a window overlooking the water. Beautiful views! The brisket was absolutely delicious and my pineapple margarita was amazing. For our appetizer we had the pulled pork sliders which were yummy. I'm not a fan of green beans so I'll pass on those next time. But most definitely will be going back. Beautiful place.

We went to The Fitzgerald yesterday, and as expected, the culinary excellence has remained consistent throughout all these years. Every single element of my meal was clearly cooked with care and attention. You can truly taste the love and craftsmanship in each bite--this is not just a meal, it is genuine comfort on a plate. The brisket was beautifully smoked, incredibly tender, and full of rich, savory flavor. The green beans were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of snap and seasoning to bring out their natural freshness. The baked beans were absolutely delicious--sweet, hearty, and deeply satisfying. They were, without question, the best I've had in a long time. Even the barbecue sauce served on the side was impressive. It had a thoughtful balance of tanginess and sweetness that enhanced the meat without overpowering it. The entire meal felt like something lovingly prepared in a home kitchen, but executed with the finesse of a seasoned chef. If you ever find yourself in Eagle River, I can't recommend this place highly enough. It's not just a good restaurant--it's the best in town. You'll walk away full, content, and already thinking about your next visit.

I loved this place. It's obvious why you need reservations. We sat at the bar since we didn't have reservations. The bartender, Joe, was awesome! The beer was great. Omg, the food was delicious. I couldn't believe how good it was. It came out pretty quickly. The prices weren't that expensive. Next time I'll make a reservation so that I can sit and look out at the water.

Never been here for Sunday brunch when they open earlier than normal and it did not disappoint! Sausage gravy poutine with bacon and an egg, blueberry pancakes, brisket burrito. None of us could finish the meals. And always a great view of Lake Superior! Great place

We ate at the Fitz twice during a trip to the Keewenaw and really enjoyed it. The staff is outstanding, treating you like a treasured guest & they were just waiting for you to arrive (both times!). Very hardworking but all smiles. We were seated right by the window, such a gorgeous view, hovering over the beach & the magnificent Superior. We shared an appetizer, first time, the Risotto Fritters, delish, 2nd them the Walleye cake, which knocked us out, so good! Great combination of flavors, sitting on a corn tostada, a little corn & great smoky notes. We each got the whitefish once and ribs once. Both were excellent. We thought the ribs were better than what we'd had in Kansas City! Meaty, tender & smoky. Our second visit, we took after dinner cocktails to the deck, as it was a lovely day to enjoy the view. Oh--inventive delicious cocktails and a very nice wine list. You are wonderful hosts!! Thank you so much for all the kindness & relaxed, happy atmosphere, it was a treat!

New Year's Eve Dinner was amazing. Great beer choices, I had a awesome old fashion. Dinning room was packed but service was fast and friendly. I had the mussels with pasta, Troy had 2 appetizers. The water with the big waves outside the windows made a beautiful experience.

My husband had one objective aside from his work requirements when we went up to the Keweenaw peninsula: get BBQ at Fitzgerald's. So that's what we did! Due to the pandemic the menu is abbreviated and everything is done outdoors. Walk up, place your order, and in minutes you're eating delicious que overlooking Lake Superior! They have some outdoor picnic tables on a deck in the back but it was a windy evening so we dined in our car. A little challenging with BBQ but we made it work! We ordered the brisket, pulled pork, Mac and cheese, baked beans, and two pieces of pie (key lime and chocolate peanut butter). We also added buns to make our own sandwiches and I piled mine high with pulled pork, the side of pickles, and some of the paired BBQ sauce and it was *chef's kiss*. The Mac and cheese was also great. A little smokey, I think they add paprika? Either way, it was different than I was used to but still so good. The brisket and the beans were also very good but the pork and mac were the winners for me! The pie? OMG. So rich, not too sweet, and the pieces were huge. The chocolate peanut-butter one was my choice and I've been dreaming about it since. Can't wait to come back up here post pandemic and enjoy more from their menu, which I hope will be restored to its fully glory, then! Until that point, tho, don't sleep on them if you're in the area!

Pulled pork was awesome as well as the brisket. Great craft cocktails and bourbon selection. If you want ribs you have to go for dinner.

The Hut - A Gem in the Keweenaw!…read more The Hut is a very unique experience, and we were thrilled to stumble upon it--especially since dining options in the area are a bit limited. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the quirky decor that ties into the Keweenaw's mining history. It's charming, memorable, and adds a special local touch you don't often find. My wife was on the hunt for some Lake Superior whitefish, and The Hut *delivered*. She went with the broiled preparation and couldn't stop raving about it--flaky, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I opted for a patty melt and was equally impressed. The marble rye was perfectly toasted, and the flavors were spot on. Service was decent overall. Our server did forget my tea, which was a minor hiccup, but honestly, it didn't detract much from the experience. The quality of the food and the one-of-a-kind atmosphere more than made up for it. If you're in the Keweenaw and looking for a satisfying meal with some local character, The Hut is definitely worth a stop.

We are seriously cosidering sending this restaurant a bill for our valuable vacation time…read more I thought we hit the jackpot for dinner after a long drive. The place looked inviting, and authentic, and the person working at the register in the bar area was friendly and helpful. But... much to our chagrin, the place was noisy, the food was awful, and the service worse. We order the stuffed portabella mushroom and the grill chicken with Michigan cherries chutney. The mushroom was blah - tasteless. The chicken tasted like airplane food, served with 6 super thin overcooked lame, pathetic, and meager asparagus spears, and an extra side of frozen veggies which were uncooked and blase - no kidding peppers were warm, and broccoli florets super cold. Adding insult to injury, Patty, our server was awful. She was not attentive, served our appetizer and disappeared for over 15 minutes without taking the rest of our order. She forgot the garlic bread that came with the main meal and she Literally threw the two plates with the chicken on our table. Oh, and the Old Fashioned was super sweet and super red, my guess they added grenadine yikes! Out of my over 400 reviews I had never written such negative one. Avoid this place at all cost.
