I went to a beautiful wedding on a November Saturday afternoon and the venue was stunning. The outdoor ceremony was followed by cocktail hour upstairs. They had a bar with two staff members that kept the line moving and the drinks flowing with great personalities. The passed appetizers were all delicious. The staff that passed them around was also pleasant and not at all pushy or intrusive. Dinner was excellent. The staff was excellent. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone getting married or looking to host a party in a beautiful setting. Thanks for the great time! read more

Absolutely amazing facilities for a wedding after party I attended. This gorgeous multi venue location provided us with everything a wedding after party could want. Since the bride & groom footed the bill I enjoyed even more but never the less I throughly was impressed by facility's and it's offerings. Leon the car greeted me when I strolled over from the parking lot into the pre-cocktail area. Now if you didn't get greeted by a big black cat you didn't get the full treatment. Main hall for the postnuptial party was moderate size so you can dance and still enjoy your cocktails. Outside had a swinging chair for some evening inappropriate groping. Well, once the evening was over you defiantly wanna gave GPS ready cause it's pitch black and no real indicator on how to get home. Love the venue it was amazing! read more

My fiance and I started planning our wedding last year. On October 11, 2025, we toured Five Bridge Inn with their event coordinator Maria. We thought it was perfect for what we wanted. She gave us a brochure, spoke to us about what would be included, and a copy of a contract with a wave of "take your time, there's no rush!" Not once during our emails or in person encounter did she ever mention the deposit being non refundable. (If we had known this, we NEVER would have signed the contract) She also kept hounding us via email with "reminders" pushing us to sign said contract. Once we did and sent it in, everything went wrong. We knew they had a list of preferred vendors and anyone off of the list would incur a $1000 fee, but after going through all their possible caterers and getting the lowest quote for over $6,500 for 70 people (that's without the 10% increase for 2028) we realized we physically could not afford what they wanted us to spend to have our wedding here. We asked if we could bring in our own food or hire a food truck to save on costs, we were told "no"-- not for liability reasons, but because they "pride themselves on being a catering only facility." My fiancés stepfather suffered two strokes and became paralyzed, thus rendering him dependent on a wheelchair. They had claimed that the location was ADA accessible; that is a lie. There is gravel surrounding the barn, including the ceremony and cocktail areas, making it impossible to access for wheelchair users. There's 3 bathrooms in the Retreat Barn: none of which can fit both his wheelchair and his transfer chair in order for him to comfortably use the facilities. When we emailed Maria and explained that we could no longer hold our wedding at the location, she informed us that the deposit was non refundable. This is when my fiance and I really looked at the contract. The area where it states that the payments are non refundable is hidden towards the end of the contract within the middle of a paragraph. Pair this with the fact that it was never verbally mentioned? I find it extremely misleading. I asked if we could sell our date to another couple to recoup the $2000 and they refused to accommodate that. I even tried to stress the fact that our scheduled wedding with them wasn't for another 2.5 years (November 2, 2028) and based on her own words: "the first week of November goes quick with couples trying to avoid the increased October fees", so they could easily have another couple pick that date up. They have REFUSED to work with us at every turn. We thought this location was our dream venue, but it has been nothing but a nightmare from day one. We also learned via multiple Google and Yelp reviews that the owner/manager -- James Messenger -- has a history of harassing couples on their wedding day as well as his refusal to refund other couples for various reasons. Their decision to refuse to refund the $2,000 has greatly impacted our ability to even plan an elopement ceremony. It may not seem like much to most people, but that money is a make it or break it situation for us. Maria has since started to ignore my emails as well, which is not helping the situation, either. read more

The Five Bride Inn was the PERFECT location for our special day. We knew that once we toured the property two years ago, that this was where we needed to be while celebrating with all of our loved ones and friends! We chose to have our ceremony outside on the property at the birch Arbor and had our reception in the beautiful Innkeeper Barn. Our wedding planner, Sonya, went above and beyond throughout the planning process and making sure everything ran smoothly leading up to the wedding and for the remainder of our day! She was always great with communication and answering any questions in the planning process. Truly a pleasure and easy ti work with. She even checked on us several times in the morning as the time was counting down to the ceremony! She reassured everything ran smoothly without a hitch! Even as we were about to enter our reception, she made sure to run over and grab us an extra drink while giving us a quick pep talk to calm nerves!!! The Inn staff also treated us with VIP service while staying overnight and feeding us a delicious breakfast in the morning as newlyweds with some of our friends. 10/10 would recommend this venue and especially to work with Sonya for any wedding planning needs! read more

Our family's wedding at Five Bridge Inn could have been the most beautiful experience, with a stunning venue, great location, and wonderful staff. Unfortunately, everything was ruined by the manager, Harold "James" Messenger. Just 12 hours before the wedding, James called the bride, ignored the promises made by the sales staff, and demanded more money, showing rude and chauvinistic behavior. When we questioned the contract, he aggressively kept yelling the "new amount," even showing us another couple's contract to compare prices. His attitude only worsened, and he threatened us repeatedly, shouting derogatory remarks at my mother-in-law and telling guests that he "didn't give a (expletive) about this wedding." James screamed and banged on the table when I simply asked if he would honor the contract. He also tried to intimidate me by standing over me. Later, he was heard at the bar telling guests he didn't care about the wedding. He also fired our wedding coordinator, who stood up to him and refused to let him bully us into paying more. Staff confided that James is a "liability" and that the good reviews come from events where he isn't overseeing. There are also other reviews where James is mentioned for the same issues. To top it off, he seemed impaired and insisted we pay in cash, while double-charging us for multiple items, claiming they were "new prices." Please, for your own sake, avoid this place. James's unprofessional behavior will ruin your wedding day, as it did ours. I would never wish this experience on anyone. read more

Do not book here. If I could have changed locations the day of the wedding I would have due to nothing but James Messenger. The unprofessionalism, lack of attention to detail, and obvious anger issues that my family received the night before and day of the wedding were egregious. As for the event staff, the coordinating crew, Ellen and Maria, they were nothing but exceptional, warm, and made what was a shitty situation a whole lot better. James will go back on your contract, keep your money, and demand more without any valid receipts or proof of extra costs. What could be a beautiful local family owned venue was tarnished by his threats to my family, both verbally and physically. It seems that this is not his first time trying to screw over other guests but the level at which he went to disrespect my mother the day before his wedding. I am not sure what problems they have going on within their management team but the headaches they caused almost ruined what turned out to be a beautiful event. He had the nerve to treat us with complete disrespect and disregard throughout the entire experience. To make matters worse, he fired the wedding director/coordinator simply because she stood up to him for disrespecting my aunt. This was the day before her wedding! If that wasn't bad enough, he called my aunt at 11 o'clock at night before her big day, berated her, and even made her cry. A bride deserves a stress-free day, but instead, the owner created chaos. He was swearing, disrespectful, and utterly unprofessional. The location and aesthetics may seem tempting, but trust me, it is not worth the stress and negativity this man will bring. When I found out my sister was having her wedding here, I figured, well, this has got to be a nice place to have a wedding or else she wouldn't have chosen this place. I feel like "nice" is a bit of an understatement, as it's more "wow" worthy than just plain "nice". The venue is HA-YUGE, with different outdoor locations for the perfect wedding. My sister's wedding took place under the birch arbor, which was nothing short of beautiful. The reception was in the nearby barn (the big white one), as it held lots more people. Also the broomsmen coming in with actual brooms definitely added to the already festive mood. We also had the good fortune to spend the night there, and I slept in the downstairs room with the bookshelf. While I did not have time to have a relaxing soak in the tub, I did, however, have time in the morning to look at the beautiful garden directly outside the main house, which looks like a perfect cozy little oasis for the pollinators. There was even an equally gorgeous butterfly bench under a tree nearby, which makes me want to find one for my yard. I also wanted to mention the kitchen looks very nice. The tea selection is impressive, with a few teas from Harney and Sons. I opted for their English breakfast tea, which tasted simply delightful. Denise was super nice, helping to make sure everything ran super smooth as well. And did I mention the llamas? I didn't? Oh. Well, now I did. An updated review as I see that he's putting lies out there I was trying to pay someone on the side . From day one it was a wedding ! There was never once that I paid someone extra on the side to upgrade my wedding .James was destined to try to ruin my day. The florist and people were that were there setting up for me were mortified of how he was talking about us and how we should just "choke" and he didn't give an F about it ! Absolutely the worst experience ever a good friend of mind was being harassed by the owner on the day of her wedding. Paid extra money chocolate fountains, wedding setup, and it was never granted or money reimbursed. In addition, one price was given paid and signed contract then the owner demanding to cancel the wedding bar and used vulgar language. And I heard the owner speaking to several people and trying to ruin her day. My dear friend was crying and nervous her entire wedding day and didn't enjoy the day or any food because this owner caused anxiety and terrible stomach pains. The bride was sitting down after her first dance because her stomach was turning because of this owner James Messenger is the worst owner and then wrongfully terminated his employee Ellen who was supportive and kind to try to make this wedding special. Please for your own sake this wedding venue is so unprofessional save your time and money and don't ever book here. If you asked me two days before my mom's wedding I would have told you this venue was perfect. It is beautiful, the staff was beyond lovely, the animals. Every detail- perfect. My mom had been talking their praises, as she had been given an incredible room rental rate, on her last minute wedding, she saw it as god sent and told everyone she possibly could about how lovely this man James was... Fast forward to the NIGHT before the wedding... my mom receives a call from James, believing he was calling to congratulate her, she happily answered. That's when shit hit the fan. Not only was he not calling her with anything kind to say, he called her to BERADE her, yelling at her about the "outrageous" details of her wedding. ALL details that had been coordinated and signed off on by his staff, as well as completely paid for. Calling her a liar, swearing at her, screaming at her. My mom called me crying her eyes out- I then proceeded to try and contact him, sending him receipts and SIGNED contracts- completely proving everything he was claiming my mother owed him for was already paid for. I received no response, nothing. Clearly this man didn't care about the truth of the situation he was on a self righteous hunt for more money and wasn't going to stop trying to bully his way for more cash. My mother never would have broken any rules or done anything she wasn't allowed to do. Although not having much money, she would give her last penny to pay for any service rendered and to show how much she appreciates and cares about every person she meets. Our only saving grace was Ellen, after telling her what was happening, she immediately called me, did her best to calm and soothe my mom- she told us she begged him to not call us knowing this would happen (because it has happened before MANY times/ as other promised us that she wouldn't leave our sides to protect us from James and anything he may try to do to ruin our day. This poor woman was brutally verbally abused by this man. Totally no respect for his peers or woman in general ( though I can't imagine he has respect for just about anyone but himself)- she was afraid for her job, but being the incredible person she clearly is, she stood up for us and because of this he fired her ON SITE forcing her to leave, threatening her in front of guests and vendors. Absolutely disgusting. During this time, she claimed the owners were great people who just don't know how bad James can be, and if this is true hopefully they get their son out of management and hire someone who knows how to do their job and doesn't have to bully, and threaten clients on the day of their events (telling guests he hopes they choke on this wedding that he doesn't give a "f*ck" about.) There is so much more I could say about how terrible this man was, as we are a close family we did everything in our power to try and celebrate but there absolutely was a dark shadow over the whole day and this whole experience I wouldn't wish it on my worse enemy. I am heartbroken for Ellen but frankly any company would and should hire such an incredible person who stood for the true heart of what she said the company stood for. An absolute disgusting shame. I recently attended my sister in laws wedding here. The property and wedding barn were beautiful and the staff were friendly and attentive. What overshadowed all of that was the experience that my sister in law had with one of the owners James. He tried to demand more money the day before the wedding, above and beyond the contract and he was so threatening and rude to her that she was up all night ( the night before her wedding) upset and crying and afraid for what this man may do to ruin her wedding! The wedding was beautiful and love prevailed; however, this man's presence lurking around throughout the night was uncomfortable and intimidating for all. Our son and now daughter in law had their wedding here yesterday November 26th. We had a magical day at this incredible venue. Everything was perfect. For the entire day all of us were treated royally. The food, drinks and service was great! The ceremony and rehearsal were held at the barn and the decor was beyond beautiful! But there are so many other reasons why I've raved to friends and family about this venue; here are just a few: - Pavilion tent included - Option to host your rehearsal dinner on-site and sleep over the night before the wedding - Complete flexibility with choice of vendors (catering, DJ, photog, etc) - Free breakfast for bridal party the day of the wedding, and guests the morning after the wedding - After-hours bonfire provided for post-rehearsal hangouts (no issues with making noise, either) - Dedicated space for hair and makeup My experience with the owner of the Five Bridge Inn, Ann Messenger, was fantastic; she responded quickly to my questions via email, and had very helpful suggestions (including an intro to my day-of coordinator and photographer, both of whom were absolutely stellar). My only tip to brides who book this venue would be to keep close track of deposits and payments, and ask upfront what additional expenses you might be incurring; the Inn can be a little disorganized when it comes to finances. We had our tour today with the owners of the new barn area for my daughters wedding. The owner was so professional, helpful and not pushy at all. The grounds are stunning and the inn has so many unique rooms, each with there own cozy style. If you are looking for a classic vintage wedding or classy country then the barn is a outstanding choice. The price was worth every penny and was a much better deal than other barns we looked at. If simple beauty is what you are looking for this place should be on your list. Please be aware it is in the country so be prepared to have a coat if needed and order bottled water for your guests like most country areas water my be from a well or filtered differently than other areas of the state. We are so happy with our Wedding Venue choice and so many items are included I loved not having any surprises when it came time for the bill. read more

Went to a wedding here and my card was held at the bar. No issues with that as it is a common practice. When we were ready to leave we went to the bar and asked the bartender to cash us out, he said he couldn't till the end of the night as they only can run cards when the wedding is over. We said no we need to leave now. He stated that that's not how they do it. As we found out there were several people including 90 year old's who were stuck because the venue refused to cash them out until the wedding was over. The bartender told us that it was our fault we should have paid with cash. Worst place ever!!!!! P.S. during the ceremony owner was blowing his nose so loud!!!! This place is amazing, what a great experience my now Wife and I had there for our wedding! We had it at the Barn and it is immaculate out there! We were up in a beautiful balcony while all the guests looked on and cheered it was such a great feeling! Beware!! They do not honor reservations made via Hotels.com despite confirmation numbers, and email confirmations. We made a reservation 4 months in advance for their "family suite". Two weeks before our travel date we were told that we'd been dropped and our reservation would not be honored. No follow-up. No effort to suggest alternative lodging. No apology. Nothing. I would be very, very cautious about booking this inn for an event with such shady business practices. My family is now scrambling last-minute to find another place to stay. read more

It has been over a year now and Not one dime has come back to the people who paid for a service they never received, even after multiple couples reporting that they have contacted the attorney generals office. If you're willing to wager your money that you will absolutely get married there and nothing will change in your plans from inside or outside circumstances, more power to you. I wouldn't want to support people who steal others money without at least keeping an open line of communication. $4,500 is not chump change to just forget about, I'm sure the owners of the five bridge inn have not missed any nights out for themselves this season! read more

Be prepared to have your guests be underwhelmed and disappointed with the venue. Not a good experience.

Where do I even begin? My partner and I got married here in August 2019, and we couldn't be happier. We were loved, cherished, and cared for as if we were family; that's the way you are treated at this incredible family-run business. From the first visit, to the phone calls, the text messages, the multiple site-visits, Ann Messenger, James, Jay, Mike, Adrianna, Sonya, and so many others cared for us during our weekend. The value of this experience is unparalleled. First, this venue is fantastic because for an INSANELY LOW PRICE, you have access to the grounds for your rehearsal dinner and the staff is available to talk you through your ceremony. Then, before your wedding, you have the opportunity to get ready in the BYOB "hair and make-up suite" all day. Our ceremony was at 4:00, and after getting ready, Ann and her staff helped us find a place for our first look. The cocktail hour went off without a hitch, thanks to her experienced staff and the magical Ralph's catering team (see our review for them!). Ann and her team were there every step of the way- even down to helping us open the doors for our surprise introduction! As our reception was wrapping up, the staff lit us a bonfire for the after party and we were able to hang out with 50+ of our closest friends and guests. THIS IS NOT a venue that is timed to only give you the traditional "five hours." This is a celebration. Around 1:00 am, we put out the fire and (INCLUDED) in our small fee was gorgeous sleeping accommodations for 14 people in Five Bridge Inn!!! The next morning Ann cooked us a delicious brunch with homemade quiche with eggs laid on her farm! It doesn't get much more farm to table than that (And have you seen the llama's and alpaca's she has?). To top everything off, our 14 guests got to spend the day lounging by her pool as we unwound from an amazing evening and wedding the night before! In addition to all of this, there were an amazing number of small touches that blew us out of the water: * We were worried about transporting some older family members, so Ann had a golf cart standing by to transport them if needed. * The staff literally moved tables for us at the last minute to accommodate extra picture frames on our memory table. * Ann stopped us throughout the day to encourage us to eat and drink and she brought us little snacks after the ceremony. * The couple from the wedding before us left flowers and greenery behind. Ann made sure to save it, text us pictures and helped us build beautiful centerpieces with the extras to help us save on costs. Additionally Ann has a shed FULL of wedding decorations that other couples have left behind and she kept thinking of little extras for us including: putting out an "unplugged" wedding sign, extra tissues, bug spray, sunscreen, table numbers, arches, easels, card boxes, tool, the list goes on and on!!! * As members of the LGBTQ community, and with lots of queer guests, this venue raised us up with rainbow joy, putting out rainbow and trans flags, and letting us create non-gendered bathrooms. * We were worried it might rain and with such a huge party, it was important to us that a totally outdoor venue would have a great rain plan. While we didn't get a single drop of rain, Ann had hundreds of umbrellas lined up and staff ready to go! Is there anything else to say? I could go on and on! We went to a wedding last Saturday for a co-worker, this is our second wedding as a guest at this venue. We've stayed at the Inn many times. This venue is amazing! The rooms are clean and spacious, so comfortable. The Inn keeper, Ann is welcoming and so eager to please. This place is a home away from home. The weather was rainy, however, the tent held 150 guests very comfortably. We all commented if we didn't know it was stormy outside, we couldn't tell. The food was awesome! As beautiful as this place is I would not recommend it. When my fiancé went to visit last August we loved it and the people seemed so kind. We booked a date with the son and then he called a week later to tell me his mom booked the same date so we had to change our date which they gave us a discount for the trouble. My dad had a massive heart attack shortly after and with the medical issues and other things I had to take on financially we had to come to a hard decision to cancel our wedding and just do some thing very small here in town that would cost us barely anything. I called in January to cancel for August and explain my situation and hardship. Absolutely no sympathy no I'm sorry for what you are going through with your dad nothing. When I asked about the deposit he said he would consider if they booked the date. Which in March they did re book our wedding date and when I called about the deposit he said no we can't get it back. He sent me a picture of the new parties contract showing he have it to them for less as well but still more than what he was charging us. So not only did they keep our $1500.00 they also booked and are getting money from that wedding as well. I think this is horrible customer service and a place like this that has weddings booked all year long felt the need to be so greedy, really makes my stomach turn. I don't know how they even feel good about themselves. So no I would not recommend this place and will make sure I let everyone know the experience I had. read more

We attended a wedding here and it was spectacular! The grounds were impeccable, the tent and the area around for the ceremony was fantastic! We weren't impressed with the food that was served (it wasn't bad, just wasn't GOOD). I believe the couple hired their own caterer, so this was probably out of the Inn's control. There was a young boy driving us around in the golf cart who was just adorable! He told us it was his grandma's house and he loved helping out. There's also a black cat with a white face and paws that roams around and was so friendly and loved being petted and followed us around. There were alpacas, a swing set for the kids, etc. Great place!! read more
