From the moment I saw the stunning grounds (the beautiful house, the pool, the tennis court, the llamas!) at the Five Bridge Inn, I knew I wanted it to be my wedding location; after discovering that the contract covered 24 hours on the property, I was completely sold. But there are so many other reasons why I've raved to friends and family about this venue; here are just a few: - Pavilion tent included - Option to host your rehearsal dinner on-site and sleep over the night before the wedding - Complete flexibility with choice of vendors (catering, DJ, photog, etc) - Free breakfast for bridal party the day of the wedding, and guests the morning after the wedding - After-hours bonfire provided for post-rehearsal hangouts (no issues with making noise, either) - Dedicated space for hair and makeup My experience with the owner of the Five Bridge Inn, Ann Messenger, was fantastic; she responded quickly to my questions via email, and had very helpful suggestions (including an intro to my day-of coordinator and photographer, both of whom were absolutely stellar). My only tip to brides who book this venue would be to keep close track of deposits and payments, and ask upfront what additional expenses you might be incurring; the Inn can be a little disorganized when it comes to finances. That said - you couldn't ask for a better outdoor venue. If you can manage to snag an open date at the Five Bridge, you are going to have the time of your life. I know I did.

Be prepared to have your guests be underwhelmed and disappointed with the venue. Not a good experience.

For myself, I don't need a B&B with the pricey high-end amenities. When I'm on vacation or traveling, I'm either trying to get away from it all, or can drive to a shop specializing in those things if I really must. Gilbert's was perfect for me. An old family farm, converted to a B&B, was quiet and comfortable. I appreciate the classic, not-so-modern, character of an old home. The interior was tastefully and simply decorated with antique period pieces supplemented with modern decor. The yellow pine hardwood floors throughout the house were gorgeous and were what caught my eye immediately. The old barn and paddock were hiding places for the three outdoor cats. The wild turkeys occasionally perched in the tall trees. The proprietor, an adorable woman, showed me through the house with all the nooks and crannies and hidden rooms that made me realize the house was a lot bigger than it appears from the outside. I couldn't have gone wrong with any room I picked. What made it feel like home, were the interactions with the owners, who greeted me, and the other guests, both upon arrival and at the end of the day when we returned from our adventures. At end end of my visit, I didn't want to leave. I already felt like I was home. And the good-bye hug went a long way to making me wish I could stay and and the same time start planning the next visit. Just like a visit to mom 's or grandma's.

The location is also right near the highway with lots of area restaurants. And the price is very competitive. Now the bad news: 1. The bed is very high and hard for shorter people to access, 2. Aside from the bed, the only furniture are a somewhat comfortable chair and a rolling chair that sent me flying to the ground the only time I tried to use it. 3. If you want dishes, cups, or almost anything, you have to ask for it. 4. They only clean the room every seven days. When you need more towels, you're supposed to bring down your used ones and they give you fresh ones. 5. The shower water pressure is barely acceptable. 6. The tv gets louder each time a commercial comes on. It doesn't get local sports channels like NESN, so you can't watch the games. 7. WiFi is spotty and often does not connect to the internet. 8. The "grab and go" breakfast is not up to the competition, and the downstairs coffee only operates during breakfast. Overall, if you're used to real hotels, this is not that. It's designed for longer-term travelers, but its negatives generally outweigh the positives.

The management here has no clue how to maintain the standards of hygiene that one would expect of a hotel. Dirty linen, the foul and stale stench of nicotine, the unwelcoming whiff of mildew all contributed to the kind of American hospitality we'd rather, and sooner, forget. Does not the hotel management know how to use a washing machine, a mop and a bottle of Domestos? The room was shabby and grubby and not at all worth the $105 per night rate that we paid, and that was after negotiating it down to that rate. Had it been earlier I would have left and found another place to stay at. The hotel industry of the USA needs to be completely overhauled, reviewed, regulated and accountable at every level.

So entering the room it appears like any other hotel room would appear clean, with the modest conviences hotel rooms provide a microwave, a fridge, a working tv including free HBO. Free WIFI (though you need to ask the desk for a wep key) tiny shower and toilet. Everything on the surface appeared normal. Till we went to bed only to wake up the next morning literally COVERED HEAD TO TOE in Bedbug bites. Its 2 days later and I'm still itchy. So of course we complained to management whose reponse simply was "You have to show us, if you don't show us we don't know." So my boyfriend then proceeded to take off his shirt and show her his bitten up back. "You must show us the bug when you stay we give you nice room" Are you serious that's the solution? To take us from one room filled with bedbugs and put us into another filled with bed bugs? How about a refund? How about a partial refund? How about not putting us into a room with bedbugs in the first place? Judging by the other review on this hotel this isn't the first time bed bugs have been an issue. I also had to come how and wash all of my belonging for fear that whatever critters ate me alive there would follow me into my own bed. I guess we now know why the rooms are so cheap there's always a catch to everything.
