Our afternoon ride was excellent in every way. We paid for a group beach ride and were pleasantly surprised. Devon and Ali led our ride, there were two in our group joined with another group of four. Since the experience/comfort levels were different, we were able to break away from the group with one guide for more adventure. The dunes are incredibly beautiful and riding on the beach was a very unique experience. We were lucky to have beautiful weather, only long sleeve shirts necessary, with sunshine. Trailered our horses to Bodega Bay and boarded them at Chanslor Stables this past October. The people we met there were amazing, and took great care of our horses when we weren't riding. They were very helpful about places to ride and trails to take around their property. They directed us to the equestrian area by Bodega Harbor and rode through the dunes to the Ocean. Can't say enough how great the people we met here were, and we will absolutely make this a regular trip. read more

We had an incredible time on a private ride with Cheyenne! We took Henna and Grace out on the eagle view route and saw incredible views of Bodega Bay! One of us had experience riding and the other was relatively new and Cheyenne gave a great run down on how to guide the horses and told us about their personalities ahead of time! What a wonderful time my Wife, Friends and I had. Cat was our guide with her helper (I forgot her name, Ashley?). We scheduled the group ride on the beach and we were not disappointed at all. We were greeted with a friendly smile and awesome attitude before we were told what horse we'd be riding. A quick drive down the road before we mounted our horses and away we went. The horses were very friendly and easy to ride with zero issues. Both guides were nice enough to take lots of pictures and share with us at the end of the ride, we really apricated that! Over all the experience was absolutely perfect and I would recommend Chanslor Stables to anyone looking for a life changing experience for any level of riding with friendly folks to guide the way. Friendly staff, spectacular views, fun rides. We got lucky and the weather was excellent, which gave us great views of the bay. The Bodega Bay weather doesn't always cooperate though. We also got lucky in booking a group ride and having the other couple cancel, which made it a private ride for us. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and had pointers on how each of the individual horses would behave. Everyone we talked to was great. They have several guided rides available that take in different views and offer different sorts of trail. There is probably a ride that'll fit your bill, and they are kid friendly. Say hi to Gabriel. I've been taking a series of lessons and rides, getting ready for a pack trip into the high Sierra. I'd never had lessons before and had been a bit nervous around horses . Amazing experience with Chanslor Ranch! Devon was so so kind and helpful in planning the proposal and the day itself could not have gone better, with Joslyn leading the ride. Lots of trail rides don't let you go faster than a trot (understandable, they want to take care of you and their horses!), but Chanslor was good enough to have a chat with us beforehand to assess our riding abilities and let us have a wonderful canter along the beach! My Fiance proposed right on the beach and Devon snapped some lovely pictures of us and the horses and even brought props for us! The horses were beautiful, well looked after and very very well-natured. They were very light and responsive on the bit and didn't stop for grass or pull once!! My fiance had his first trot and canter on Piper and she took care of him marvellously. I was riding Jake and absolutely fell in love with his smooth canter, such a comfortable ride. The team at Chanslor Stables were great - they set us up with E.T. and Paulie, and took us along a beautiful trail along the river. I was in love with this place from the time we got out of the car! I planned a horseback for my husband & I as a surprise for our anniversary while staying in Napa, & this place did not disappoint! Out of all the things we did during our trip, & the fancy place we stayed at... this was the highlight for me & more my speed. I will never forget this experience & would love to come back for more rides. We only live about an hour and a half away so the trip is worth it. We were greeted by friendly staff, & our guides Anyel (sp?) & Bright (loved them both) were very friendly/down to earth. They made this experience enjoyable. We boarded our horses overnight at Chanslor Stables. The process was easy and they took great care of our horses. Devin was very helpful, telling us where to ride and even let us ride on the ranch which is incredibly beautiful! I would recommend this place if you're looking for a place to board your horses and ride, and if you're looking for a place to rent horses on a guided trip. There are great camping opportunities as well including a couple of teepees in a remote location along a creek. We will definitely be back to visit this jewel again! read more

Chanslor Stables helped me with my wedding proposal, and it was unbelievable! They offer an incredibly romantic beach ride, which is perfect for a proposal. The staff, including Devin who led our ride, gave me incredibly personalized attention and support setting my proposal up. They helped me create a beautiful picnic area instead a driftwood teepee on the beach with belongings that I brought the day before. We rode out to the beach and up to the teepee, which the staff had all set up for our picnic. I asked my (now) fiancé to grab some snacks I brought out of my horse's saddle bag and BOOM! She reached in and came out with a ring box. When she turned around, I was down on one knee smiling up at her with the waves crashing in the background. It was beautiful. To make things even better, Devin instantly turned into photographer and took some great photos of us in the moment.
