The burgers are good but greasy and the prices are high for a place that has the decor of a bathroom!

My 4th visit to this location. This location is the best. It is nearby theater and mall. It is one of my favorite burger joint. They serve your meal based on your request combination which is their trademark. Burger is cooked right. Prices are considerable . The staff is nice. Clean place. Have I mentioned of their free peanuts as an appetizer? I will always stop by after either movie or shopping if given chance. read more

I'm giving this place more stars than it truly deserves because of the customer service. That, and because they accidentally gave me free fries. It's really just a burger place, nothing spectacular, nothing special. It wasn't as juicy as the burgers I've had in the city, namely Shake Shack (nothing beats that) and Joy Burger. As for everything else, you guys know the deal...I love five guys burgers out of the burger chains in the tristate area. Not too heavy but not too wimpy. I always get my burger "all the way" with a side of fries. Big ups for hooking us up with the fries - they basically give you another scoop inside the bag. The cajun fries are a little too much for me. I also tried the bacon hot dog (all the way) recently. It's amazing! Of course as a New Yorker, I rather eat my hot dogs with ketchup/mustard, sauerkraut , and onions but you'll enjoy this if you're a fan of the Chicago style hot dog. read more

I ordered a burger "all the way". Maybe a generational miscommunication. I noticed on the receipt it said lil burger "plain". I then informed the young man that I wanted "everything " on my burger. He said that he would take care of it. I watched the assembly of lettuce, tomato, onions etc on orders being prepared. I got home and was so very disappointed to have a "plain" burger, not even ketchup on it, just bread and a patty. If I had not noticed that the receipt said "plain"and brought it to the young man's attention, I would say it was my error for saying "all the way" instead of saying that I wanted everything on it. I don't usually check my food before leaving with takeout. I guess I need to. read more

So i had never gone to 5 Guys Burgers before and i had heard several good things. My experience there was very positive and overall left me wanting to go back. Although there were several people on line waiting to order, things were taken care of quickly and I soon found myself at the head of the line ordering. I thought the prices were reasonable and the amount of meat you get generous. I love that a burger there has two patties. Watching everyone work in the background was pretty cool. Things seemed streamlined and efficient, a big departure from your typical burger place. My only grip would be the fries. My expectations were high because so many people had told me that their fries were to die for. The fries i received were somewhat bland and wilting a bit. It's nice that they dumped extra fries in the bag after filling up the container, but really i would have traded it for crispier fries. I would def recommend to visit them, especially if you're waiting for a movie. Things there move fast, the burger tastes good, and you can refill your soda. I just hope you get better fries than me =) read more

I was at the Bayside location on Saturday evening. I ordered online and went into the store to pickup my order. I asked a clerk if they had any peanuts and he didn't understand what I said so I lowered my mask to ask again. This really nasty lady who was working at the prep counter started to yell at me to put my mask on. I never removed it and it was down for maybe 5 seconds. I took into consideration that everyone is election and Covid-19 stressing and decided not to go off on her. But what a jerk and an unpleasant experience. They need better training. Five guys are unquestionably one of the best burger chains. Five guys offer a lot of toppings that you can mix and match, which makes the burgers taste so much better. Every time I bite into my burger, there's a river of burger juice flowing down my hand. Additionally, Five guys arguably have the best fries [with Cajun seasoning of course ]. Their Cajun seasoning offers more flavor compared to regular salt. To top that all off, they will always give you more fries than you can finish. They don't even care what size fries you bought, they just make sure that the bag is filled with food. I also like that their kitchen is transparent and let's me watch how my food is made; it delivers a sense of confidence and trust. It is a bit hefty on your wallet for a burger meal though, beware. read more

Now upwards of $6.99 for the little cheeseburger (6/2017) Honestly, the little burgers are about 85% the size of a normal one, just minus one thin patty. I love how five guys burgers can be custom made with the toppings you choose. They always give plentiful amounts of the toppings and my burger is always overfilling! The grilled mushrooms are something that most burger places don't have but they are absolutely delicious. I understand that this was fast food, but my burger and fries were just drenched in grease, I took my food to go, and literally the whole bag was just drenched in grease. This was my first time eating at Five Guys, and honestly this place was messy and not kept in good condition at the time I went. My home may have been under a rock because this was my first time trying Five Guys. Came to grab a quick bite before a movie since this was located conveniently next to the theater. I got the Little Cheeseburger with a not so little helping of the toppings. I stopped just short of asking for everything loaded on, but pretty much went list happy: tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, grilled onions, mushrooms, ketchup, green peppers, etc. It was beautiful. I still prefer the flavors of a Shake Shack burger, but this was quite a hefty burger and I love how you can truly customize it to however you like with no extra charge. Friend got the Cajun fries which were some of the best fries I've ever had. Service was friendly and this location had ample seating. Call me a fast-food burger noob, but I was finally able to try Five Guys for the first time. The burger was juicy and good, but totally not worth the price and it was extremely greasy! I wasn't sure if I was hungry or just wanted to gtfo of the place because (1) it was closing time and (2) they were wiping the tables next to us down with dirty rags that smelled like the bathroom.... There's really nothing special. I don't get the hype. Yes, it's significantly better than McDonald's, yes, the place gives you toppings like ketchup and sauteed mushrooms without extra charge, but I bet you've paid for it already... I like the way the dump more fries into your bag even when you order a regular sized one. Also, the free and unlimited peanuts are so good! Husband wanted a burger; I don't eat meat so I asked him to get me the veggie burger while I went to get movie tickets. Turns out they don't have a veggie burger, but a "sandwich." Okay, fine, expected a mediocre, dry veggie patty. Instead, it was a bunch of "fixin's" on a bun. Wouldn't even stay together, it was a pile of mushrooms, with tomato slices, lettuce bits, American cheese product slices, and green pepper bits that tasted like something off the floor. I get that they don't have freezers, and probably for that reason, don't carry veggie burger patties. But for a seemingly-thoughtful chain ("you can see where our potatoes came from! Look how thick the shakes are!") you'd think they'd at least provide this option, but they're focused on a small, simple menu. It was a less-than-one-star experience for me, but in fairness to their mission, I'm giving them two stars because my husband found the burger to be "meh," and he liked the thick shake. The fries were also okay, not my type, a bit too greasy. So if you're a vegetarian, Five Guys doesn't give a crap, just deal with the feeling of going back in time to a Boomer's idea of the golden age- the 1950s. read more

First time there after hearing a lot of good things about the one in Dallas. This Bayside location just opened up and I was having the biggest burger craving out of anyone on the East Coast. However...I was not impressed. The buns were limp and soggy. I asked for grilled mushrooms and ketchup on mine --where were the mushrooms??! They definitely skimped on that and I was disappointed. Third time coming to a five guys. I really like this location and the staff. The restaurant was really clean compared to other locations I have been to. The food was bomb! Ordered single cheeseburger with all toppings and regular fries. The staff was nice enough to give me an extra scoop of fries. Will defiantly be returning. Five guys is amazing! Fresh burgers made right in front of you with fresh ingredients, but slow service. I don't know if its all Five Guys or just this particular one, but they take foreverrrrr! However, as you start to realize they begin grilling your burgers just when you order them, you appreciate the freshness! The fries are awesome as well. Choice of cajun (spicy) and regular. They load the fries in the bag so you are getting way more than you can eat; get ready to share! Only complaint: the grilled cheese sucks. I had a cheese burger from Five Guys yesterday and it was a very good burger. I have to recommend to eat the burger on the spot though because getting it taken out ends with a soggy breaded burger. I got all the toppings on it and it was a great mix of flavors. The toppings plus the two patties of beef = delicious burger. The one reservation I did have was that I couldn't have the fries because they are made with peanut oil. For people like me, who have peanut allergies (albeit mine are not deadly to my person), this isn't the best place to go for fries. There's also no alternate for having fries that aren't made with peanut oil. It was disappointing. I don't know if I'd go back because of this. 3.5 stars for this location of a chain that's sort of taking over NYC by storm. Everywhere you turn there is a Five Guys or one that will be opening up. Soon the novelty will wear off, I'm sure. There's nothing bad to say about Five Guys -- they are fresh, their extra ingredients are free and they have an open kitchen so you can totally see what these people are doing (or not doing ie: wearing gloves, which they always do). The only negative I would say is that it's really not all that special? You can get a freshly made burger almost anywhere; they don't have a special sauce that will attract you a la In-n-Out or Shake Shack style. Their fries are ginormous; hubby and I always order the regular because that can feed a family of four. I've tried the cajun fries but after about 10 or so the taste starts to make me sick so I've generally stuck to the plain ones. Hubby loves it with the malt vinegar they supply. We went to this location on a Wednesday night, and only waited about 20 minutes. Not bad. read more

I came here with my boyfriend and his parents at one point because the Five Guys in Fresh Meadows was closed for the day due to maintenance issues. It's pretty big and roomy for a burger/fast food joint. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. This Five Guys location was pretty clean, organized, and not as crowded as the one in Fresh Meadows. I don't see what all the hype is about. It's a greasy burger with greasy fries that they stuff the bag with. The bacon was overcooked and the burger looked like someone sat on it. Prices are way too high for what you get. They offer no combos and it cost $14.00 for a single bacon cheeseburger and a drink. For that money I could go to a diner and be served. As good as any other Five Guys Burgers and Fries place - fresh, pure beef hamburgers, cooked well-done, moist, and with a good flavor - almost comparable with diner burgers, but does not quite compete with the best deluxe burgers out there that I've tried. The price is quite good, and one gets a GENEROUS portion of fries - "regular fries" comes with a heaping portion that overflows a large soda cup, almost double, and I almost thought it was really a "large" portion and the staff was just being always generous. The fries themselves are quite good, fresh-cut potato, crispy, with a little bit of skin on - a great flavor, and not overall white and pale like the fries of more generic fast food places. Toppings for the burgers are free, and the veggies are fresh. Cheese is generic American cheese - I would have preferred real cheddar or other higher-quality cheeses like in more deluxe burger offerings at more upscale places. The location is really spacious, with plenty of tables. Preparation is fast - the burgers are after all cooked right there as soon as you order, not pre-made - and service is friendly. A good place to get a quick meal and a solid burger and fries. Did I mention the complimentary free peanuts?
