Five Guys is good, but I wouldn't really rave about it that it's amazing. The overload of fries is always a plus, but for some reason from this location the fries are sometimes very over salted, like to the point where they're inedible without being wiped off with a napkin. However, when they're not over salted, they're amazing. Definitely one of the best French fries around. I usually just get a cheeseburger with bacon, and like I said...is it the best burger I've ever had? No. But does it satisfy that greasy burger craving? Yes. Can't say enough nice things about this Five Guys. The manager, Crystal, was awesome. My daughter went in with a crowd from camp and they were under pressure to get back to the bus in time. Lots of kids, who are hungry, who were on the clock, who weren't really sure what they wanted - insane. Crystal was a pro - lots of patience and great sense of humor - and her staff - really nice and very fast - they got all the kids fed and back on the bus with time to spare and no drama. But what makes this location so good is the service is perfect.I always order on the app and when I get there I am instantly acknowledged and my order is ready as soon as they finish the fries which are always perfect. The burgers here are dry and overdone. While the toppings are great, it really doesn't make up for the dry meat. I know the chain's policy is to cook all of the meat well done, but that doesn't mean it needs to be dry. On the other hand, the cajun fries are delicious. read more

Where do I begin? I was a Five Guys newbie to this point, morbidly curious to try the place since I started seeing them pop up a few years ago. I use the word "morbid" to describe my curiosity because I suspected, being overweight AND health conscious (I know, I'm just a plain old walking contradiction) that there wouldn't be anything here I'd eat without some sentiment of disgust and self-loathing afterwards. After carefully pre-tracking my projected meal on the WW app (Remember me, Contradiction Man?) I walked up to the counter and ordered from the simple menu. Hamburger "all the way". Little Fries. I figure it had been awhile since I went all the way, but I have no need to compensate when it comes to my fries. And a drink. Caffeine free Diet Coke. Because, you know. Health conscious. I stood perplexed and fascinated after being handed a receipt and told I was number 68. Darn it, just one more number...I digress. The four 'beings' behind the counter not including the lovely cashier lady seemed as if they all were on their first day, today. I sensed a lack of leadership and would not have been able to pluck out a manager had I been given three chances. After 10 minutes, some young boy destined for a lifetime of fast foodery yelled "68!!!" That was me! And I was hungry. And confused when aforementioned boy offered up "Spastibah?" I ignored him. "Pastabah?" Okay, getting closer. I took my paper bag without answering. Oh! 'PLASTIC!' You're asking me if I'm staying or going. Awful. The place is dirty. I didn't think I was at a charcuterie, but $15.43 later, suddenly McDonalds seemed like a more viable option. I sauntered away, because people like myself don't always walk. They saunter. I dumped my grease soaked bag over and unearthed my hamburger and fries. The double patty and extras caused much drippage and the fries were exploding into the bag. So much for my pre-tracking abilities. The music was all over the place. Classic rock. Arena Rock? Unidentifiable modern Rock-esque Pop. I'm not sure the vibe this chain is going for, but the food is good, once you get it in your mouth. Just don't expect ambiance, or to lose weight. Or to get a second date. The staff is friendly and helpful. Took one star off because when I went it wasn't that busy but there were tables that needed to be wiped down. I got the bacon cheese dog and I'm not a fan of them cutting the hot dog in half but that's just me. It wasn't anything like OMG!! In your face! Honestly it was a bunch of young teenagers running the place. They were polite and very attentive to all the customers. I can't say anything negative about that. Burgers were cooked the way I asked. Place was crowded and busy so it took longer than expected. Burger was good quality beef , buns were soft , all the veggies were fresh and had a crunch when you bit in the burger. It's a good on your wallet so if you want something quick and easy! It was a rainy Sunday afternoon and I was really looking forward to "experiencing" a great burger. Seems like Five Guys is opening new places in this area. I decide to order the Burger as opposed to the "Little Burger" (no explanation given on the menu). As it turns out, the BURGER is simply a double-meat portion of the "Little Burger". I think that should be clearly explained on the menu....or at least verbally by the cashier. The list of toppings is pretty cool...but nothing extraordinary: No variety of cheeses, no guacamole, no tomato sauce or salsa or chocolate syrup, or peanut butter (just kidding). I ordered bacon (extra money) and raw onion. I also ordered regular fries and regular soda. Total: $11.73 with tax. Yikes! Seemed like a lot for a burger, fries and soda. I wait a few minutes and the guy calls my number and I take a seat at a table. First thing I notice is that the order of fries is pretty big... spilling out over the cup into the steamy bag: That's always a good sign...We like getting "extra". Then....drumroll...I open the foil-wrapped burger....hoping for a great burger aroma to come wafting from withing. Uhhhh....Nada. Steam. I open the bun and see that the onion is chopped. I would have preferred sliced...I like the crunch. And...there are these two steamy pieces of grey meat. I understand that without a flame grill it's hard to give flat-grilled meat any sort of personality...but this was grey and tasteless. No wonder they offer so many toppings, the burger is merely a canvas for the toppings. So....what do I think? Really good fries and a mediocre burger (burgers) does NOT a great burger place make. Clean place: Yes. Friendly staff; Yes. But...at the end of the day it should be about THE FOOD EXPERIENCE...and Five Guys failed. Did it really take Five Guys to make this franchise happen? I think they should have added one more guy...a chef....called it Six Guys and made a much better burger. read more

Ok, so Five Guys is a glorified fast food joint. But it does have a few things going for it. Consistency, you know what you are going to get at the Five Guys in Bayside, Hicksville, Little Neck, Edison, Manhattan, etc. (you get the picture). A well done burger smothered in whatever toppings you elect to add. This brings me to point 2 - the place gives you flexibility in terms of toppings for your burger. Point 3 is Quality... while not to the standards of a $20 burger at some specialized fancy restaurant, you have to admit that these are better than the stuff you get at McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King, White Castle, etc. My final point is Price. for almost what you pay for an extra value meal, you can get a five guys burger with fries, a drink and all you can eat peanuts. As burgers and fries go, these are delicious however if you have never tried their hot dogs, get one. Their hot dogs are unbelievably good and I think often overlooked in this realm of burgers. The place if very clean and you can watch them do the cooking. The behind the counter servers and cooks are all pretty nice too. My only complaint (and this is the chain's fault not this individual restaurant), is that I would love a shake with my burger. I understand they purposely have a limited menu but shakes and burgers go so well together, so how about it Five Guys, just vanilla and chocolate and one size if you want to make it easy. They lived up to everything I expected from the other Five Guys out of state. Free peanuts, free refills, free toppings on burgers. They give you the cup (regular or large) fries with a topper. The good thing about this place is that they keep the place clean. Can't complain, they gave me what I wanted. Plenty of free parking outside and open till 11am. read more

I called in my order, spoke to Carlos and after giving him my order he said it would be ready in only 8 minutes!! To my surprise, it was ready in 8 minutes just as he said. I was happy to get home and find my order was correctly done (a lot of places mess up to go orders which is very frustrating)and the burgers and fries were delicious!! I don't think you can ever go wrong with Five Guys...ever. This location is large enough so that it's never cramped, even during busy dinner hours. The customer service is great as well...I don't think I've ever been to a five guys with bad customer service, in fact. The food is the same as any other Five Guys, which is really good. Two stars because I do like the fact that you can customize your horse meat burger anyway you want, with as many or few toppings as you wish without extra charge. I came into bayside five guys on Fourth of July with my husband to get some food here for the first time. We ordered two burgers and the young lady who took my order was so nice and helpful. When the food was ready, to my surprise the same young lady who took our order came out to give us our food. She asked if we needed anything else so I asked her name and she told me her name is Ashley. So I thank ashley for making our first visit to five guys very nice.
