Fries are always good, every one I have been to has a pleasant staff and they are clean,the big detractor, the burgers. They are at a price point consistent with sit down restaurants but the patty quality is about on par with a McDouble and not quite as good as a whopper. They try to make the burger seem juicy by just scooping the grease onto it or something like that and all it does is destroy the bun on any larger burger, similar fast food chains just don't have that issue. I prefer Five Girls, but this will do I suppose. These are truly some of the most overrated burgers in the country, and sure, compared to Wendy's and even Shake Shack they're good, but compared to real hamburgers (and there are many of them in our country) they are really bad, and they're also more expensive than a lot of real hamburgers, which is a crime, because these aren't very big. One of the problems is that a lot of people making them don't really want to be here, often 19 year olds who in some cases may not appreciate the concept of work or good service, which is fine, but in this case it definitely was true, and service was lacking. If my 5G obsessed College friend and former roommate drug (not drugged, but dragged) me in here and tried to drug (not dragged, drugged) me with these burgers, I guess that's my excuse for coming here. To prevent post prandial discomfort I ordered the "small" cheeseburger (one patty instead of 2) plus their full list of toppings (mustard, Ketchup, pickles, sautéed onions, sautéed mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce.) Small fries. There's nothing small about any of that, it's a gigantic meal but more tolerable than the regular cheeseburger. After that for lunch, only snacking for dinner needed. I really like Five Guys, it's one of my favorite burger spots. I stopped at one in Boston during college apartment move-in day since we hadn't had breakfast and were super hungry. I was the only customer there besides another customer at a table eating so it wasn't busy at all. I ordered food at the kiosk and casually watched the staff as I was waiting at a table. The two staff members were having a conversation, doing some eye rolling and head shaking while making my order and a few door dash orders. After receiving my order, I walked back to the apartment and noticed 2 of the toppings I ordered were not on my burger which was disappointing. I checked my receipt to make sure the toppings were listed which they were. If I eat at this location again, I'll have to check the burgers to make sure they were correctly made before leaving the restaurant. Five guys is great at delivering great tasting and juicy burgers. Their toppings usually always taste fresh and their patties are very flavorful and tender. I also like that all their locations I've ever been to have an open kitchen so you can rest assured your food isn't being played with. Peanuts are finally back (at this location), for a while they were not giving them due to the pandemic. A few things to keep in mind if going to five guys for the first time is that little = one patty whereas if it doesn't say little you'll get 2 patties. Another thing is that the small fries are enough to feed 2-3 people so don't make the mistake of each person getting their own fries....you'll have so many left over. I've got a family of six people, so dinner out before a show can be expensive at a sit down restaurant. For our recent trip to the Nutcracker, I decided to swing by Five Guys as a way for each kid to get a custom dinner that was quality, but not stupid expensive. This location is just a block away from the pretty Christmas lights around Macy's, and a few blocks from the theatres. Pretty decent sized location - complete with open kitchen and cases of peanuts for you to shell and munch on while you wait. We worked with a super-friendly cashier (named Derek P? - that's what the receipt said), who was gracious as we rattled off six different burger orders in succession. He confirmed each order to make sure it was correct and made sure our visit was a complete success. Food was prepared correctly and came out quickly. These burgers are messy. There are so many juices in there that it flows into the bag, drips down your hands, and explodes in your mouth. You will need napkins. A lot of napkins. The fries here are pretty amazing. Make sure to try the cajun fries. Since they have free peanuts, I find myself not ordering fries that much anymore. I recommend ordering online to beat the lunch traffic. Or, you can eat peanuts while you wait. They have one of those 9999 combination soda machines that are pretty awesome. Forgetting to add toppings to my cheese burger and the fries were horrible overall my order was a mess , my cheese burger cAme plain also were dry and overcooked, my Cajun fries were not edible at all. Honestly I'm just reviewing this place because Five Guys deserves more than 3.5 stars so I feel obligated. The location is fine, we've been there multiple times and the staff has always been friendly. I won't review the food because if you don't know by now whether or not you like Five Guys then me telling you that I love it probably won't do much for you -- just go try it. Here are three tips though: - Go for the free peanuts, they are good (somehow people in there don't realize they are free) - Make full use of the awesome soda machines by mixing and trying a variety of flavors - Order on the mobile app or online where you can request some lesser known options (e.g. Extra Third Patty, Lettuce Wrap). You may be able to just ask at the register but I always order in the app these days since it's pretty convenient anyway and it stores your order info for next time. It's quite more than enough to satiate my cravings and desires, which for milkshakes in a dream world would be every waking moment of every day. You get UNLIMITED MIX-INS. You can have vanilla and/or chocolate, and/or peanut butter and other delights such as cherry and salted caramel. I chose two for myself--my favorite of any flavor, peanut butter, and salted caramel. Whip cream is free. It. Was. Delicious! Beyond delicious, it was divine. It was inspired by the classic gods of burger and fries diners. BUT, that doesn't mean this place doesn't deserve a great review. I think Five Guys offers its own unique twist to their burgers and I really appreciate the way they do business by offering free peanuts to their customers. One of the things that I really like about Five Guys is that they offer a lot of topping options. My favorite combination goes something like this.... lettuce, tomatoes, onions (fresh and grilled), green peppers, jalapenos, pickles, and A-1 sauce. Try their cajun style fries as well. Always a trusty spot around Downtown Crossing in Boston to take the kids to eat. They have clean bathrooms (protected by a code on the receipt) and a changing table. Basic American food options available and yummy shakes to share with each other. They have crayons and small pieces of paper to draw on and hang up. And peanuts also make great distractions while waiting for food. But that's also good to know if you have peanut allergies to not go ;) read more

This location is the worst 5 guys I've been to. Placed my order, went to the line -- 5 customers, including me, while we watched their staff laugh and joke and literally dance with each other. From an operational perspective, let's just say not all staff were at capacity. I got my order before the person who ordered before me, but thought nothing of it. Got back to my office, found two different colored beef patties, one light brown and the other dark brown and dry. Pretty sure they gave me an old patty that was laying around. Cheese was half outside the sandwich and cold, half melted. Best part of the trip -- while waiting we watched an employee sweep, then in the main dining area unbuckle his pants, reach inside his pants with his bare hand, then rebuckle. Someone from the kitchen then passed him a metal container which he carried over to the soda machine to fill with ice, again with his bare hands. The others ignored me. That's after spending over $50 and tipping 20% upfront. Never again with so many other food and burger options nearby. If you really want their food, get takeout, don't bother with the tip, have a hose ready to wash off the salt, and add a bunch of seasoning for the burger. Okay...let me just start by saying that getting a burger and fries for dinner with a diet coke is something that I don't do very often at all. I've been to a Five Guys in Norwell a few months ago for the first time, and my second time was at this location, and it wasn't half bad. It's a quick burger and fries (and peanuts) fix. and for that you can't go wrong. Granted that it's a lot of greasy food going into your gut, you can't help but feel satisfied, and then mentally write a note to yourself saying that this won't happen again for a very long time (gorging on burgers and fries that is...). The one thing that's funny to me is the veggie sandwich. My husband's a vegetarian, and the veggie sandwich is veggies and cheese in a hamburger bun. My husband likes it so what the hey...it's just odd that they don't have veggie burgers. Oh well. The (almost) never-ending order of fries helped and/or made up for that I suppose. Here's the thing, if you want a burger and fries, but don't feel like going to Wendy's, give this place a try. We went here after the st.pattys parade. I was truly in the mood for a great burger and my friend suggested this place. It was mine and my fiancé's first time. I ordered a cheese burger (all in!!) and got him the bacon cheese burger (all in!!). I got regular fries and he insisted on large fries. Unfortunately when I opened my order back home, I had received a cheese burger with only mushrooms on it and my fiancé got exactly what he ordered. This left me dissatisfied however he absolutely loved his burger! Said it's got to be up there with one of the best he's had. Here is a great example of how someone with a really nasty attitude can bring down the rating of an otherwise (seemingly) decent place to eat. I went to the Five Guys on Summer Street to get a couple of cheeseburgers to go. Simple. Direct. The cashier (...my receipt says her name is Sofia) hits me with a close to $17.00 bill and I was like, "Whoa, wait a sec. Two cheeseburgers are THAT expensive?" Long story short, she was charging me for the $7.69 cheeseburgers and not the $5.69 cheeseburgers. In her defense, she did NOTHING wrong. She charged me for what I asked for, but MY confusion was with Five Guys' definition of a cheeseburger. The world's definition of a cheeseburger is basically a patty, cheese, two buns and whatever other toppings you ask for. Five Guys' definition of a cheeseburger is a DOUBLE patty, cheese, etc. I asked, "Wouldn't that be a double cheeseburger?" From here on, she became very flippant with me, telling me this is how Five Guys labels its burgers and that what I actually wanted was a "Little Cheeseburger" which is the single-pattied variety. I think she viewed my questions as personal attacks, but they truly were just interrogatories to help me make sense of this place. I asked, "So, basically what you're telling me is that... what the world refers to as a double cheeseburger, you guys call a cheeseburger... and what the world refers to as a cheeseburger, you guys call a LITTLE cheeseburger. Is that basically it?" And even though I wasn't TRYING to agitate her, her voice was ramping up significantly, getting more and more aggressive, as she continued to snap at me. Her overall attitude was basically, "It is what it is" which is fine, but I was just trying to make sense out of the burger nomenclature; not start a holy war. Frankly, the burgers themselves weren't even that great. Not sure if Sofia had anything to do with that, though I hope not. Anyway, I'm a big fan of giving a restaurant good reviews when they deliver great food and great service, but Sofia just ruined my time there with her nasty attitude.
