I prefer Five Girls, but this will do I suppose. These are truly some of the most overrated burgers in the country, and sure, compared to Wendy's and even Shake Shack they're good, but compared to real hamburgers (and there are many of them in our country) they are really bad, and they're also more expensive than a lot of real hamburgers, which is a crime, because these aren't very big. One of the problems is that a lot of people making them don't really want to be here, often 19 year olds who in some cases may not appreciate the concept of work or good service, which is fine, but in this case it definitely was true, and service was lacking. If my 5G obsessed College friend and former roommate drug (not drugged, but dragged) me in here and tried to drug (not dragged, drugged) me with these burgers, I guess that's my excuse for coming here. But it's passable, and the burgers usually aren't bad at Five Guys, but I perfect particularly did enjoy this experience, where the burger was somehow both undercooked and lukewarm.

Five guys is great at delivering great tasting and juicy burgers. Their toppings usually always taste fresh and their patties are very flavorful and tender. I also like that all their locations I've ever been to have an open kitchen so you can rest assured your food isn't being played with. Peanuts are finally back (at this location), for a while they were not giving them due to the pandemic. A few things to keep in mind if going to five guys for the first time is that little = one patty whereas if it doesn't say little you'll get 2 patties. Another thing is that the small fries are enough to feed 2-3 people so don't make the mistake of each person getting their own fries....you'll have so many left over. Cajun fries are the best if you want a kick to them.

I like 5 Guys. Good burgers, hot dogs, fries and shakes. And oh yeah. The peanuts. But c'mon... prices are ridiculous.

Weekday lunch visit: -- "Capital Burger" (their signature offering): A French onion style burger with speckled and well melted Gruyère cheese, soupy caramelized onions, and shallot aioli, on a sizable bun dotted with both black and white sesame seeds. Juicy medium rare center as ordered, but not much crusting on the exterior (the two are not mutually exclusive), and very light seasoning. Cheese flowed like lava. Onions were soft and noticeable. Very good burger even with the two shortcomings. -- Mixed Baby Greens: I traded fries for something more healthy. Well dressed with a tangy concoction and some carrot shreds and cherry tomatoes in the mix. A good complement to the burger. Service was VERY disappointing. The place was empty on a Friday lunch, with only one booth occupied, yet I got seated on the other side of the partition, literally inches from them. Then my server doesn't show up for roughly 15 minutes. Then I don't see the server ever again after receiving my order. Nobody came by to follow up. After finishing my meal I waited roughly 15 minutes again with no check, no server, no service, no pulse among the front of the house. No manager either as far as I could tell. I calculated the payment, left cash, and departed. I expect better from a place with "Capital" in its name. Capital Burger's Yelp bio promises "featuring a commitment to exceptional service and hospitality." This visit showed not only the lack of exceptional service, but the lack of commitment as well. (And yes, I did mention this to the business via their Instagram account.)

After looking around for spots that had burgers, we ended up at Crazy Good Kitchen! They're located on Newbury St and we were able to snag a parking spot right outside. It was not too busy the day we visited & we were seated immediately. They have a QR Code to scan at each corner of their tables to see their menu. Menu is pretty small, imo. Not too many options for burgers. We ended up getting the following to try: - Double trouble burger (2 patties) - 3 chicken tenders + fries (Parmesan dip + parm truffle fries) Thoughts: Chicken tenders themselves had no flavor. Used a lot of ketchup + parm dip sauce. Chicken was cooked well though. The tenders were juicy and not dry at all. We wished the fries were crispier. For the burger, we requested for two patties. Wish bacon was crispier; they gave a good amount of bacon but it was very oily and soft. Patties were cooked to our liking. Thought it was not bad & much better than the chicken tenders. We left Crazy Good Kitchen SUPER full. Our server was awesome! She was attentive and efficient. I don't think I would be back though. I didn't find the food to be "crazy good" at all but just okay.
