    New England Clam Chowda
    Liann A.

We visited Quincy Market on a Friday for lunch early August. It was busy and hot outside, lines weren't too long but we were on a hunt for lobster rolls and clam chowder. So we got the meal special that came with a cold lobster roll, and we upgraded our clam chowder to large so we can share. The clam chowder wasn't think, the taste was just ok. We got a cold lobster roll which is hard to compare to warm lobster rolls. This one was like a lobster salad so there was a lot of fixings and lettuce that I couldn't really compare. But it was nice to have a meal set with soup, sandwich, and drink which was around $30-$40. I feel like the seafood was fresh. Service was quick and friendly. There's a dining area to find somewhere to post up to eat your food but it does get busy, and it was hard to get napkins and for people traveling with kids.

It would have been a missed opportunity if I hadn't tried East Coast clam chowder while I was in Boston, even though I am not normally a fan of it. I was fully aware that Faneuil Hall food is overpriced and regarded as a tourist trap, but what the heck, I was a tourist, so why not? The person working there let me sample a bit of the available chowders, which was super nice. The service was really quick; ordering and paying all happened before I could fully process what I was doing. The atmosphere was very lively, and the hall was bustling with people. There was still plenty of seating, but I decided to walk out and eat my chowder along the water. FOOD: New England Clam Chowder (4/5) - I opted for their smaller size, and I'm glad I did because it was very rich and creamy. They were pretty generous with the chunks of seafood, potatoes, etc. It was definitely overpriced, so I wouldn't have gotten it if I were a local.

Located in Quincey Market which is a very busy food hall. They have so many options for seafood and came across this one since the line was long, but not too long which to me meant good food and likely worth the wait. I ordered a lobster roll and a cup of clam chowder. Delicious although bread could have been a little more toasted but jam pack with lots of lobster which is just how I like it.

A definite must when visiting Boston !!! One of many we tried on our roadtrip and this was the best. Creamy, hot, delicious and served in a bread bowl that takes it over the top. One of those dishes that you will think about for years to come, at least I know I will.

This food hall was extremely busy. Definitely touristy (almost $50 for one meal) but the food was pretty good overall. We shared a manager's special with a hot lobster roll, a cup of clam chowder, and a small drink. The roll was quite tasty and the chowder was just ok for me. I felt it needed more pepper and it was more like broth than a creamy chowder.

During a recent vacay to Boston, this place was suggested as a must try. Glad I did! This fast casual place is found inside Faneuil Hall. Hot, tasty, and a true Bostonian experience. The chowder was rich, comforting, and exactly what you hope for when you're in Boston--served piping hot and full of flavor. I recommend sticking with what they're known for: the chowder and a lobster roll. Casual, classic, and no-frills in the best way. The hubs and I split a large chowder and a hot roll. Plenty to split!! If you want an authentic taste of Boston while wandering Faneuil Hall, this spot absolutely delivers. The only challenge (on an inclement day) was seating. Will I go back? Next time this SoCA gal visits Boston...you bet!

While exploring Quincy Market we stopped for a bite to eat at Boston Chowda. Naturally I had to try their New England Clam chowder. It was nice & rich with good chunks of chowder & potatoes. There were crispy fried onions on top. I skipped the bread bowl because honestly just wanted to enjoy the taste of the chowder. Well I gobbled it down pretty quick! So good! 2025-83

Wow! I'm not a big seafood person but had to give east coast chowda a try. The lobster roll is a must as well. The chowda was good! Boyfriend said the east coast chowda is slightly better than the west. The lobster roll was pretty good as well. Definitely recommend anyone visiting to give this a try.

I have to agree with the recent reviews--this place feels overpriced for what it offers. I was especially excited to try the clam chowder, but it ended up being pretty mediocre and not particularly memorable.

Saw this place on YouTube in quincy market. A roll of eateries, you will find this place. Got the chowda and lobster butter roll. Chowda was more like soup. It was flavorful but would like it thicker. Lobster butter roll. Sadly to say, it wasn't the hype I thought it would be. Grilled roll with buttered lobster. Pros: Nice big piece of lobster in the roll and a lot of clams in the chowda. Cons: I liked the big pieces of lobster but the butter made the roll soggy. Would like the chowda thicker. Would I got back? Maybe not.

Lobster special comes with clam chowder. Disappointing, lack of flavor

Got the lobster special which was the hot buttered lobster roll and clam chowder. The lobster roll itself was around $42, and for that price it was quite disappointing. Not much flavor, if any, and tasted a bit old Clam chowder was pretty good, but it's a small cup Overall not worth the price

Pricy but good. Total was $61.39 for one combo, with an extra pop + tip. We at the Boston Chowda Company located in Faneuil Hall Market place. It was packed inside and there was a line to get food but they keep you moving. Service was friendly and the this location is set up booth style in the market/hall. We had this on our list of things to try in Boston. We split the combo, which had their Award Winning New England Clam Chowder and a hot Maine Lobster Roll. It was good and dining in Faneuil Hall market place was an experience in itself.

While exploring Quincy Market, we decided to stop by the Boston Chowda stand. I ordered their New England Clam Chowder. It was delicious and rich. Not the best I've ever had, but I did enjoy it and I would recommend it!

Hi, is the chowdah gluten free?

As far as I know, there are potato and cream inside of this soup. Also, they give you oyster crackers to put on it. So I think, we can't say it's 100% gluten-free.

    Do they deliver?

I'm not sure if the actual establishment delivers but I've gotten it delivered through UberEats before. Hope that helps!

I'm so glad we came here! First of all, the service was wonderful, and the view was just as amazing. But let's talk about the food... Of course, I had to get the lobster roll, and WOW -- I was in lobster heaven! There was SO much lobster meat packed into that roll. I got it with hot butter, which came on the side, so I could dip every delicious bite. Absolutely perfect! The fries and coleslaw were pretty good too. My sister went with the clam chowder and chicken salad. The cup of clam chowder was HUGE and delicious. She was kind enough to let me have a few bites, but that's where her generosity ended because she happily finished the rest. She also really enjoyed her chicken salad, especially since it was light on the mayo, exactly how she likes it. All in all, this little "backup plan" turned out to be a great decision. No regrets whatsoever! We left full, happy, and very satisfied. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

Wait time was about 45mins for a party of 2 on a Sunday around 6p with an increasing wait time. My mom and I ordered the fish and chips and both agreed it was lacking in flavor. The clam chowder was delicious and arrived hot. The fish and chips were lukewarm at best, coleslaw was ok, it has raisins in it, that was unexpected, but wasn't too bad. It's a small restaurant with a 90min limit on tables, food comes out quick. Overall, I'd return for clam chowder and a hot lobster roll that was suggested by the table next to us.

So when I was visiting Boston with my husband two weeks ago, I thought this Waterfront location would be a great spot for dinner on our first night in Boston. The family behind The Daily Catch opened their first business in Boston (in the North End) in 1973 - a small storefront selling calamari. Since then, it's become a bit of an institution in Boston, with several locations and now a full-service, large-menued Sicilian-style seafood and pasta restaurant. I waited an hour outside their Brookline location when I ate there years ago, and the wait was worth it. People who have eaten at their North End location may remember waiting for a bit, too. But this Waterfront location? THEY TAKE RESERVATIONS. Hallelujah. We had a reservation for around 8pm on Friday night and were seated at our table right away upon arriving. The restaurant is beautiful but understated - not flashy or too modern - with indoor and outdoor patio seating. The service was top notch. Our server was PJ, and he was incredible - helpful, friendly, always checking in with us. But even other people stopped by to make sure we didn't need anything. The menu is pretty large, and I wanted A LOT OF IT. Unfortunately, we were only two people and had to order responsibly. We shared the stuffed calamari (calamari stuffed with herbed bread crumbs, pine nuts, and raisins, and served in their red sauce); a Caesar salad (classic, and we added anchovies on top); their black pasta aglio olio (ground calamari, extra virgin olive oil, garlic, romano cheese, and parsley); and their monkfish marsala (pan-seared monkfish medallions with mushrooms in a marsala wine butter sauce). What I loved? That stuffed calamari. I had it almost ten years ago when I ate at their Brookline location. I remembered it, and we had it again. It's an incredible dish. There's a reason their black pasta aglio olio is so popular. It's a classic and very delicious. The ground calamari is such a nice touch, and the dish is fresh and super garlicky and delicious. (They serve their pastas in the pan - it's something they are known for - a charming touch!) I also think their drink menu is great. I had a great glass (or two?) of wine white from Sicily (Pietradolce Etna Bianco - a 100% Carricante grape wine from the Northern slopes of Mount Etna), while my husband had a cocktail (or two?). The only thing that kept this from being an absolutely perfect dinner was the monkfish marsala. The monkfish was cooked beautifully cooked, but I found the sauce very off. It was bizarre - it tasted like maple syrup to me. I think the marsala was too sweet or not cooked out enough or - is it possible?! - something was added for additional sweetness and the balance was off. Way too sweet for me with the fish. We ate the fish but tried to get as much off the sauce off as possible. The only miss in a meal that was otherwise wonderful in service, ambiance, food, and drink! The Daily Catch is a classic for a reason. If you've always wanted to try it, this Waterfront location is great - since they do take reservations here! Great Sicilian food in the heart of Boston.

While the beautiful venue, incredible food, and attentive staff certainly deserve recognition, the true reason these events have been so successful is Rob, the Events Manager! From our very first conversation, Rob has been an absolute professional and a genuine partner in every sense of the word. Planning large-scale celebrations can be complex, but Rob makes the entire process feel effortless. He is responsive, thoughtful, detail-oriented, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure every aspect of the event exceeds expectations. His commitment to hospitality is evident in everything he does. He took the time to understand our goals, our students, and the significance of these celebrations. It is rare to find someone who combines professionalism, expertise, and warmth so naturally. The Events Team and staff reflect this standard. Every member of the team has been welcoming, accommodating, and dedicated to providing exceptional service. Our graduates, families, faculty, and staff consistently leave talking about how wonderful the experience was, and that is a direct reflection of the culture of hospitality Rob has cultivated. If you are considering hosting an event in Boston, I cannot recommend Bostonia Public House highly enough. Ask for Rob...you will quickly understand why he is such an incredible asset to the organization! His dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for his clients set the gold standard for what event hospitality should be. We are already looking forward to being back next year.
