There has been a huge turn around since my last review. Obviously it's been a long time since then since my last review I've developed celiac disease and this has become my go-to for quick and thought free dinner. It's close to home and consistent. The lettuce wrap actually stays together unlike some other places, and everyone is trained to be super careful when you specify your food allergy. The place also feels cleaner than it used to, by a big margin. And service is always friendly and efficient. My only gripe is not being able to specify an allergy on the app, so we order in person. Their burgers are sooo expensive, I feel like I would get a better deal going to Red Robin. Came in at 9:20PM on a Sunday night 6/26. Yummy burgers as always and especially great service. The gentleman at the cash register was happy, super kind, and receptive of my friend's complicated order and the supervisor (I'm guessing?) was kind enough to double check. All the staff was super sweet, even the woman that was sweeping. Granted it was close to closing time and they got a little rush at the end, everyone's demeanor and attitude was awesome. Used to be my favorite, now it's meh. I did a mobile order recently and asked for my burgers to be ready at 5pm. I show up at 5pm, go to the pickup area and give them my name, and only then do they started making my order. So I wait the 5-10 minutes for the patties to be finished and burger to be put together (very messily too), and then the guy goes "Oh, you have fries, let me start making those". What was the purpose of me ordering ahead of time? And no apologies for being 20 minutes late, just a "Have a good one!" The food is still good, although pricey. Are you stayed here all the time it has went really downhill. Tonight the burgers were overcooked I'm pretty sure it had already been cooked and they just threw it back on the grill and reheated it. The fries seem the same way they seem to have been re-dipped after already been cooked so they can heat them up. Also the only taste I have in my mouth now is salt it's like I took an entire tablespoon full of table salt and ate it. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff!! I forgot to order a topping I wanted on my burger and the guy who was calling orders was happy to give me a side of it when my order came up. Some say the ordering process is difficult. I do not understand this. There is an option of the "regular" or the "little." The regular has two patties, the little has one. There are two lines of free condiments/toppings. If a burger is ordered "all the way" it gets all the ones on the top line. I order the little with bacon cheese, mushrooms, onions, mayo, and bbq sauce. I ordered a large Cajun fry for my hubby and I to split. The regular would be more than sufficient. They dump extra fries into the bag, so there definitely isn't any skimping going on. The fries were perfection. They were crispy, well seasoned, and not greasy at all. My burger was put together a little sloppily and my bun ended up falling apart. Regardless, it was beyond delicious. I think the free peanuts are great. If you have a peanut allergy, well that sucks for you. Lastly the soda machine is freaking awesome. It's a digital touch screen with more options than I've ever seen at any fast food or restaurant at that. They even have plain Seagram's soda water, which I think is awesome. They accidentally put grilled mushrooms on my husband's burger, which I was more than happy to eat, but it was still a mess up. Also, like I mentioned before, my burger was haphazardly put together and my burger was actually broken in half, therefore minus one star. The food here is delicious! This is by far the best burger joint in the Bothell/kenmore area, the food here is better than Kidd valley. They are a little pricey but they do offer a little cheeseburger option that is more affordable and still substantial in size. The soda machines are the kind that have 100 flavors so that's always fun. They also have delicious shakes, you can combine flavors, my favorite is coffee/salted caramel - so good! I was born and raised in the Washington DC area, just like Five Guys, and so I've been eating these burgers for a really long time. Five Guys made national news several years ago after President Obama was spotted grabbing a cheeseburger at the Arlington, VA location, and they've been on an expansion spree ever since. After I moved to the Pacific NW, it was nice to see that Five Guys has been successful enough to expand out here as well. I've eaten at this location several times so I figure it's time for a review. Five Guys is a very simple concept, and it's wise to keep it in mind: like the name implies, they make burgers and fries. The idea is to make fast food without compromising freshness or taste. They are not fancy or complicated, and don't intend to be. They sell some other stuff too (like grilled cheese and hot dogs), but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here just for those items. This is a classic burger joint, and if you like juicy, greasy burgers, made to order and fresh, Five Guys is worth a visit. The inside of the restaurant is spacious, well lit, and high-ceilinged. Like all Five Guys locations, decor is reminiscent of a 1950s-style burger joint, with white and red tile on the walls, stacks and stacks of raw potatoes and barrels of peanut oil, and those weird Five Guys chairs that LOOK like they're made of wood but are actually made of metal. Still don't get that..... Kids seem to love Five Guys, so maybe they decided to go with more indestructible furniture ;-) Anyway, burger ordering is very simple and very customizable. Choose from a few basic layouts (one or two patties, with or without cheese and/or bacon) and then choose from a large list of toppings. My standby is a "Little (one-patty) Bacon Burger" with lettuce, tomatoes, raw onions, ketchup and mustard. You can also order fries, regular or Cajun-style. The Cajun-style fries are my favorite, and are just regular fries covered in hot Cajun spices that go great on their own or with ketchup. Milkshakes are massively overpriced at $5 for a 16 oz. shake (cue the John Travolta in Pulp Fiction quotes), and are not nearly good enough or large enough to justify the price. Skip the shake and just get water or a soft drink. The burgers are cooked and prepared while you wait. It usually takes 5-8 minutes or so. No big deal; I'll always happily wait for freshly made-to-order food. The burgers are seasoned well, cooked well-done, and come out just a little greasy/oily but generally very delicious. One small annoyance is that all orders -- whether eaten in the restaurant or to-go -- are thrown into a tiny paper bag. And like all Five Guys, unless you specifically demand otherwise, they put the burger in this tiny bag first, then a cup for the fries next to the burger (inside the bag still), and then dump in a mountain's worth of fries into the bag on top of everything. French fry grease gets everywhere, all over the foil, soaking through the paper bag, and on your hands whenever you reach in. Most of the fries are at the bottom of the bag and not in the cup, every time. Be sure you eat somewhere close to a restroom so you can wash your hands afterwards. Generally, this Five Guys is a good location and showcases everything that this restaurant stands for well. If you're a lover of simple, freshly cooked burgers, you're doing yourself a favor stopping in here. read more

Yes, it's a chain of phenom fame. And, true to Washington nature, there was a constant line out the door for the 1st 2 weeks they were open. Burgers: Great and just what they should be. Just order the 'Little Burger' unless you want 2 slices. Fries: They definitely know how to do fries. And being a former chef, I watched and figured out they're 'secret'. 1 regular size order will feed 2 people. My only complaint: portion size! They're huge! Everything is huge! They even WANT people to 'complain' they're getting too many french fries. In my mind, that's food waste. And they'll make your waistline bigger. When I was in line for my lunch I was hearing this kid making sounds as he ate his little burger. As i am ordering i find that they do charge a bit extra for a smallish burger, I'm a big guy at 6'4" so i get a larger portion but when the burger arrived it smelled amazing. The bun was smeared with sauce and after the first bite i am near hooked. The burger patty is hand formed & juicy, the bacon & cheese tasted different than others & there was a sh!t load of free peanuts. Good juicy burger, a little different than In-and-out but in a good way. We ordered the double patty cheese burger with fries. At in-and-out, you could have had three burgers for the price we paid. Their fries taste better than In-and-out which is a nice plus. Would I go here again? Maybe. If they lower their price by a couple of bucks, probably a little more frequent. Oh, and if you haven't eaten at Five guys before, their patties are nothing like burger king or mcdonalds. It is not flat but fat, kind of the like the burger you can make at home using ground beef. It had been a while since i had gone back because the last time will not great visits. Today we had waited over 10 minutes for our burgers. Every burger they do here is a special order and the instructions should have been clear. I thought my order simple, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. Why would you load pickles all over my burger? Having waited and being hungry ate my burger cause and took the pickles off. I took the receipt and the pickles up the counter and told the clerk to please remind the cooks to follow the orders. While we have always been big fans of the fries at this Bothell store, especially the Cajun fries, we had a disastrous experience. We were there last night and had burgers and a large order of Cajun fries, with soft drinks. For drinks we had sweet tea. Surprise number one: the tea was bland, hardly any tea taste, hardly sweet. Thinking we probably just hit a bad cycle of the machine, we ignored it. Then the food came. Surprise number two: burgers were good, but the fries were darker than usual, hardly had any Cajun spice mixed, and were tasteless (not salty at all). I brought the fries to the counter and asked to check and the staff confirmed those were Cajun fries. They gave me a container of spices to add. Somehow the taste was just different from usual. We ate less than half and threw the rest of the fries and the tea. We were very disappointed, and I wrote in a complaint on the site. Five Guys is the same at each location, a greasy burger that tastes yummy and a mountain of fries. Order a size smaller than you normally do or you'll have a snack for the pooch when you get home.
