Burgers are delicious, and fries are the really good, homemade yuminess you expect from these types of places. Price wise it's ok, they definitely give you great portions sizes for the price...however two burgers, fries and two drinks for almost $30 was a little crazy, in my opinion. We absolutely love Five Guys and have eaten in this one at least 6-8 times while down here this winter. The burgers are the best. Why three stars instead of five? The place was dirty. It looked like the floor had not been swept in days (peanut shells everywhere) and the compressor (?) above the pop machines are filthy. Seems like they could clean/dust them periodically. Won't cook burgers rare or even medium so what you get is a shrunken Patti that all the juice has been squeezed out. To make matters worse they wrap it in foil with their dirty hands and put it in the bottom of the bag then dump all the loose French fries on top. Totally unsanitary and surprise the health inspectors allow. To get the burger out you have to dig through the fries. Try another burger chain. read more

When they first opened. Everything wonderful. When I pay over ten dollars for a Hamburg and a drink. I do not want a very cold bum the causes the rest of my sandwich to get cold quickly. Five guys is okay, if you're interested in walking on shells when you enter, or leave. The food here is of so-so quality. I could not tell you how the burgers were, as by the time you take a bite, the entire sand which has fallen apart because of the usage of oil, or grease. This place should be known for its excessive grease. Sometimes the orders are wrong, but they will, with careful scrutiny of the receipt, fix it for you. However, it's hard to fix a wet burger. They load your bag up with fries in a place with all-you-can-grab peanuts. Salt and grease. Lastly, not that this has anything to do with the service, nor quality of the food, but for a place called 'Five Guys', I rarely see a man behind the counter. At a place with this theme, that's like going into a sushi bar and finding all the staff are from Texas and dressed like cowboys. This place is very good for burgers and the best fries I've ever had. They fry fresh potatoes with the skins on. You get a whole lot of them, too. All kinds of toppings for free, regular burgers come with double patties, you have to ask for a 'little burger' if you only want a single patty. They have open boxes of fresh jumbo peanuts in the shell to eat while you wait. We've been there a few times and we will be back! Only wish the meat were flame-broiled, but they char it pretty well for a flat-top grill. read more

Where the start........I've ordered here several times and almost every time they get the order wrong. Not saying these workers have a difficult job but come on.....the last time I tried to place an order I was rudely stopped and told to repeat the order constantly as the employee rolled her eyes instead of focusing on taking a simple order. Today's incident has pushed me to the point to write this review. Five Guys has posted on their door signs saying they request customers to wear a mask. The mask does not state it is required or mandatory. My wife and I went inside without a mask since it is no longer required and no longer enforceable throughout manatee county. The store manager almost had a panic attack that we didn't have a mask on. The little weasel literally shrunk behind the cash register as if it was some sort of protection field. He tried to tell us that we were wrong and that the sign said it was required, when we told him it says requested he said it's the same thing and we were rule breakers. So to help this little weasel, requested means "politely or formally ask for" this manager was for from polite. Required means "officially compulsory, or otherwise considered essential; indispensable" . As we tried to come up with a compromise since my pregnant wife had a craving a veggie burger, we observed other customers taking their mask off to drink, I guess when you take your mask off to drink you magically become immune to getting / spreading Covid-19 and the little weasel manager said nothing. I'll never go back. The place was empty when we got there.. That should have been my first clue. Over $20 for 2 cheeseburgers (they failed to put the bacon on my$8 bacon cheeseburger), a regular order of fries and 2 drinks. That's WAY too expensive for a tiny hamburger like that. My niece has wanted to eat here ever since seeing it featured on Food Network. It was our last full day on Anna María so we decided to take her there for lunch. First of all, the food was good. The burgers were juicy and well cooked. That, however is where the good part ends. The individual taking the orders was most unwelcoming. He had a scowl on his face from the moment we walked in. I get having a bad day. Taking it out on a customer through, not okay. I placed my order first, and we both had some difficulty understanding each other with masks on and a plastic shield in front of him. He looked at my niece and her mom, and impatiently asked if we were all together. I told him I was separate, and they were together. That seemed to annoy him for some reason!I asked him if they had unsweetened ice tea, he responded yes, and I asked for a large. Immediately afterwards he barked "Do you want a drink!" I repeated my order. He slammed the cup down in front of me. As he was calling my order back to the cooks, he called for a BLT in addition to the "little cheeseburger," I ordered. I said "Excuse me..." and proceeded to remind him of what I ordered. He looked at me in a very condescending way and assured me that he had heard my order. Okay. I believed him. I picked up my order and thought it was awfully heavy, so I looked inside. Sure enough, there was a cheeseburger AND a BLT. The fries were supposed to be in a cup, I think, but they were all tossed in the bottom of the bag with only a few landing in the cup. My niece and her family all got their burger orders right, but asked for three small fries. They got one order (and were only charged with for one). By this time it was getting super busy, so we just ate and left. They were not charged for three orders of fries, but I was charged for a BLT I never ordered, and didn't want. I was sorely disappointed at the abysmal level of customer service. I will not be visiting a Five Guys again because of it. It's too bad when there isn't a friendly face or at least an attempt at a smile for customers. I'd rethink the indoor dining experience if I were you. And triple check that order. read more

We've been there several times. Very good burgers and just cooked, hot fries. I like the consistency of the food and service throughout the Five Guys locations around the country. Clean, fast, nice staff and one of the better quick serve restaurants. When convenient we tie in a visit to Five Guys when we shop at Fresh Market which is in the same shopping center. Burgers overcooked & not juicy. Fries old & dried out not soft & hot....they should have been tossed out & a new batch made. Ventilation poor...my clothes had a greasy smell when I left. Grub Guru lived in VA for some years..years ago and eat at 5 Guys when they first opened up. Concept and food is very good and that's why there are a lot of successful franchises. Fresh cut fries with generous portions, Grub Guru gets their burger constructed a certain way and they customize our order...very cool. Ingredients are fresh and offering hotdogs for our other Grub Guru crew is a plus! Great burger joint however you will pay more than the golden arch guys...but you get what you pay for... read more

Wow. I'd always held Back Yard Burgers in fairly high esteem in the fast food burger category. But this is one of the best burger places (in the non-gourmet sector) I've ever been to. While not quite at the level of Houston's Restaurant's burgers, or ambiance, it is also half the price. Worth visiting again. I have visited 3 of the local sites. All three have been 'secret shopped' and received an excellent rating. I have never had to return a burger. Anyone who goes away hunger, it's their fault. The staff has been extremely helpful with people with handicaps, even to the point of cutting the burger for easier handling to bringing the order to my table.
