We stopped in to pick up a couple of Hook & Ladder subs. Our visit was fine, we received the Firehouse "Welcome to Firehouse" greeting, the place was fairly clean. Ordering at the counter was easy and the order was correct. It only took 5-6 minutes for the sandwiches to be ready, and we were on our way. When we ate our food a bit later the sandwiches were delicious. I never vary from this particular warm sandwich with its ham and turkey filling and enough mayo and deli mustard to make it a little messy. In fact, we pick up food a couple of times a month from a Firehouse that's closer to where we live. This chain has consistently good food. read more

Excellent Italian sub! I got the largest one an ate half last night for dinner. The bun was nice and soft. The meat content was perfect and a lot of it. I put peppers on it too cause I love them. I used to work for Pizza Villa in Ohio and they made the best subs ever. Out on a site visit and it was pushing lunch time and the group picked Firehouse Subs. This was my first time here. We were welcomed when coming in. Ordering was quick and easy. I got the hook and ladder with smoked turkey breast and honey ham smothered with Monterey Jack, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, deli mustard, and a pickle spear on the side and I added some heat as it is called Firehouse Subs. I love their subs! I ordered the small hook and ladder sandwich, while my husband ordered a large Italian combo. I forgot that they bring the food to your table, so I was standing there waiting for our food and the cashier told the next 2 customers that the small sandwich they ordered was very small and that they may want to consider a medium. This Firehouse Subs has the new Coca-Cola freestyle v2. We always love coming to firehouse subs because they have the best sandwiches around! You get a lot of Sandwedge even though it is a bit pricey it is really worth it! The people are always friendly the staff always smiling and they make incredible sandwiches! I love the bread at firehouse! It's the main reason I choose the sandwich shop over some of the other ones. Plus the quality of the meats and vegetables on your sandwiches are always excellent. If you want you can ask for any minor changes to your sandwiches and they always accommodate your request. I love that they have the new freestyle machines and allow you to customize your Coca-Cola drinks anywhere you want. Plus they have the firehouse cherry aid which is their signature drink. If you've never had it you've got to try it and make sure you squeeze a couple of lime slices into it. read more

I visited Firehouse Subs for my first visit. I asked for a ham and Swiss cheese sub with all the trimmings. When I got home there was no cheese on my sandwich, no onions and no mustard. The ham should have been spread throughout the whole sandwich. It was all at one end. I really wanted to love Firehouse Subs and although it wasn't all bad I was disappointed. I can only give it a 3 out of 5. I will give it another chance but if you don't have Swiss cheese don't tell me you do and then leave it off the sandwich. If this my first visit to her you firehouse subs, it would be my last. First of all, the young woman taking our order Mumbled everything, we continually had to have her repeat yourself. Next, I told her I needed my sub made with no mushrooms, and it came out covered and mushrooms. When I returned it to have it remade, the woman behind the counter acted like it was all my fault. When my husband ordered his sub with only mayo lettuce and tomato, he was asked if he would also like to have it made with onions, Green peppers & mustard. Ugh! Listen! This location is filled with incompetent employees. They can not read simple instructions for food orders. I have placed several orders for PLAIN sandwiches and they consistently come fully loaded. The receipt will say no, lettuce, no tomato, etc. They completely ignore these instructions. I ALWAYS click no pickle in the box option, and of course it always comes in the box. Ruining the bread of the sandwich. I have called over and over to ask why they can't follow instructions and the manager just told me that maybe I just shouldn't order from them anymore. They didn't even apologize. 2 people making sandwiches and i had to wait 22 mins and my sandwich wasn't even that great it was soggy and everything kept falling out. DELICIOUS BBQ Beef Brisket sandwich with NO FAT. Just got my favorite BBQ Beef Brisket sub at the location on Cortez Rd. in Bradenton, FL. VERY DISAPPOINTED! The sandwich was AT LEAST HALF FAT!!!! First time eating at this restaurant and I really enjoyed all the food. I had a small "club in a sub" sandwich, side salad & loaded potato soup. The order taker told me up front that there was a wait on the soup and they were out of oyster crackers but I could substitute for the crackers if I wanted. I didn't but it was nice to have the option. The young lady bringing my food to the table also gave me an update on my soup & offered a substitution for the oyster crackers. I was impressed with the attention to detail and that my soup hadn't been forgotten. They also asked if I wanted my salad dressing on the side, rather than on the salad-another nice touch. They also had an eclectic and varied selections of hot sauces that I could add myself; with small plastic containers available to put them in. From the employee's comments and chat I could see they were attentive and worked well together; sharing order info & assisting each other easily and comfortably. These guys are pretty good. I worked at a Firehouse out in San Diego for a few months as a part time gig on the side to save up some money, so I know how everything works and how it's supposed to look and taste since I ate their may times a week. This one is right across from LA Fitness so I like to go in after workouts sometimes to get a fairly healthy meal in. Taste=5 stars all day!! Every firehouse I've been to from San Diego to Illinois to Miami has been amazing and is never second to anyone in the quality or taste category. If i remember correctly, Firehouse standards call for sandwiches to be done in a minimum of 6-8 minutes. My store in North County SD had a great staff and consistently sent out sandwiches with sub-5 minute ticket times, pretty solid for a store that was always busy and overflowed into the parking lot with people during lunch and dinner hours. I have not seen this store in Bradenton get busy but my sandwich is always out in 5-6 minutes or less. This is pretty good because other firehouses I've been to around the country have been extremely slow and I've never had a sandwich from other ones come out in less than 10 minutes which is frustrating but I will deal with it every time because I love the sandwiches so much! So amazing. Absolutely destroying Subway, Quizno's, Jersey Mike's and Jimmy John's despite the sometimes longer wait. I highly recommend the Turkey Bacon Ranch!!! While maybe not the totally healthiest selection they have, definitely amazing! You can create your own sub as well if you don't like the named combos on the menu. I would say the Steamer and Hook & Ladder have to be my other favorites! They also have the under 500 calories menu! And you can get any sandwich from the regular menu with the low-cal Hearty and Flavorful wheat bun. Don't be afraid to customize your sandwich and add/subtract anything! We haven't been to this location in a while as our last visit wasn't great. I was pretty surprised at this recent visit. It was quick, staff was friendly and I was taken care of as if I mattered. Not the typical a year back or so. Kate took my order and was more than helpful. Brittany was who handed me my food and I was left with a smile and "thank you for coming to see us". my sub was made perfectly. I asked for honey mustard instead of deli, they had the perfect amount on there. It was just an overall great atmosphere and experience. We will be back. read more
