It's signature Five Guys. This location has been maintained well, churning out a quality product with a staff that's the average equation of friendliness. Five Guys has a simple, almost hospital-grade type of atmosphere. Don't forget about the complimentary peanuts, which can be chowed on during or after the meal. The menu is equally simple: it's basically one patty or two patties. Bun or lettuce wrap, which is smart. Then unlimited toppings, which are all fresh. This gets wrapped together with a serving of fries that presents the illusion of overflowing out of a paper cup, when in reality it's the presentation that makes it feel like such an excessive portion. Still, the varying sizes are enough to share between 2-4 people. Their new cajun seasoning for the fries wasn't my favorite option, and I do think they shine better with just their signature crispy peanut oil. My only complaint against Five Guys overall, besides hoping for some more variety like chicken tenders the first time I visited in several years though I appreciate the specialization, is that the pricing is on the high end for fast casual. I felt that $23 for a burger, fries, soda, and tip was a little over-the-top the first time I went. But then I found that Five Guys induces cravings, so I went back a week later and downsized the fries to a still-large 'small' portion and omitted the soda, reducing the total to a slightly more reasonable $18. I'm the type that prefers a sit-down meal, so I have no qualms going out to a chain or local restaurant at an equivalent price point and getting potentially better quality. A more typical combo would serve the chain well, but this comes down to corporate and Five Guys is one of the only chains with a no-discounts policy. They still earn five stars since this location embodies all that Five Guys is supposed to be and they do it right, but with the amount of competition including Smashburger and Burger 25 opening soon in Brick they need to find extra motivation to bring customers in. read more

I eat here at least once per week ! Burgers, and fries are always delicious, and the fountain sodas are always on point with the syrup/seltzer ratio. The staff at this location are always hard working and friendly, amazingly they even remember how I like my burgers ! The place is always spotless, and as Pawley Walnuts says, "you cold eat maple walnut ice cream out of the woman's toilet ! The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. My burger comes with multiple included toppings so I picked ketchup, pickles & grilled onions. There's so many options. I love that this Five Guys location is clean and the food is always fresh. You can't get a burger and fries anywhere else that tastes as good as here. I love that any toppings on your burger are free, and you can pick and choose however many you want. I've been coming to this location since they opened. Ample parking and located in a great spot right off of Route 70. Even the employees are friendly and helpful. They have peanuts in the shell that you can help yourself to while you wait for your food. I love seeing where the potato shipment came from when they lay out the potato bags for French fries. Hands down- the best burgers ever. If there is no Five Guys nearby, I will not eat any other burger no matter my craving or else it would be a waste of my taste buds and calorie/fat intake; no five star restaurant could ever compare to the deliciousness of these burgers. You get the real beef flavour; there is no need to mask the taste with an array of spiced buns etc such as their competitor, SmashBurger, does. And they give you an obscene amount of fries for the money (a small will easily feed 2 or even 3 people). The service is always prompt (burgers are not pre-cooked) and friendly. The eating area is always super clean, even though they offer free peanuts which inevitably end up all over the floors. However, the employees are constantly cleaning and sweeping. I ince got the wrong order (pick-up), but I didn't really care, since the taste of whatever you get is always so good. Five guys - a burger chain from down in DC that's made itself a local favorite here in NJ, these past few years. How is it? Well - it's pretty decent, and better than any fast food joint, that's for sure. For those who haven't been here - Five Guys is another chain in the long line of "Fast Casual" restaurants, throwing itself into the ring with about a million other burger joints, like the now-gone "Burger 25, 25 Burgers, Cheeburger Cheeburger, Lunchbox at Brick", as well as "Smashburger". You walk into a fairly sparsely decorated restaurant with a 1950's-esque burger shop motif, order from a relatively small menu (Burgers, Hot Dogs, Fries, and one vegetarian option), and wait for your number to be called. While you wait, there's free peanuts for you to nosh on, as well as Coke "Freestyle" machines that allow you to make all sorts of flavors of soda. The burgers here are all cooked one way - well done, and pretty greasy. There's a good number of toppings to choose from, allowing you to customize your meat slabs any way you see fit - a favorite of mine being mushrooms, sauteed onions, and A-1 sauce. The french fries are always fresh, and you get an absolute ton of them - they usually fill the cup up, and then dump an extra scoop into the bag for good measure. Bonus points are awarded for having malt vinegar available for said fries, since "boardwalk style" fresh cut fries are nothing without some vinegar on top. The food is pretty tasty, and you'll seldom leave here hungry. You might even clog an artery or two, free of charge. Price is where this place loses a few points, unfortunately. A simple "regular" cheeseburger (actually a double, the "junior" burgers are a single patty) will run you $7, with a regular fries adding another ~$3.25. Add a regular soda (the smallest size), and you're at about $13 - pretty steep considering the burgers are only cooked well done, and are about the same size (maybe slightly bigger) than a Whopper from BK. Sure, the meat is a little better quality, but I could go to a local diner and get the same meal, possibly even bigger, for about the same price with tax and tip, cooked the way I want it. While it's neat that they give you an extra scoop of fries, we're literally talking about potatoes here, some of the cheapest things around. For $3.20 I'd EXPECT to get a hearty amount, so I'm not going to act like they're doing me a favor. Don't get me wrong, 5 Guys is miles ahead of places like Smashburger, and is great for a quick bite to eat, especially if you don't want to go to a traditional "sit down" type of restaurant. The service is friendly, and the food tastes decent as well, but in my opinion doesn't really deserve the type of fanaticism that people give it. In the end, it's a kinda overpriced burger joint that's just a step above fast food. The definition in "middle of the road", not bad, but nothing really special, either. read more

Terrible service! Ordered $66 dollars worth of food for my family. Yeah, a lot of money for a fast food joint. They forgot my hotdog... Understandable... mistakes happen. Usually I check the bag before leaving but if you know five guys, they dump fries in the bag and cover everything. So I took my chance. Got home, no hotdog. I called them up because the hotdog was what my son wanted. They said they put it in the bag. I said they didn't. Going back and forth with this woman for about 5 minutes she finally said let me talk to my manager. She came back saying my manager saw it being out in the bag. I said don't you think it could have been put in another bag? I asked for a manager to speak to me instead of this middleman crap. The manager said sorry but we put it in your bag. I explained that I'm not trying to nickel and dime them. I spent 66 bucks on fast food and people make mistakes. I understand that.... but over a hotdog, really? Make things right. She hung up on me. And a few minutes later she called back and said, so what do you want? I said a hotdog for my son... she asked, when? I said well tonight is good since I'm trying to feed everyone in my family. Ok come back. So, I drove 10 minutes in the rain to collect my hotdog and when I went in the shop I gave the receipt and asked for it. They had it ready probably with extra spit. And I asked, don't you think you could have put it in another customers bag? She turned her back and said, I don't know, maybe. i haven't been to five guys in awhile. to tell you the truth it's all about the money and another place similar to five guys offers a free side if you fill in their survey. i fell victim to greed. today i felt like a good old fashioned burger so i decided to try five guys again. their food is consistently good and fresh. you absolutely can find no better fries anywhere than this place. the burgers are great and don't laugh but i love the regular bun. it's not some fancy smancy brioche bun - it's a bun like we would have at a back yard bbq. for those of you who have never been there before this place sells burgers, fries, shakes, and soft drinks (kids meals can include hot dogs and grilled cheese). that's it - there's nothing else. it doesn't matter thought because they do it so well. they have many toppings that can be added on (bacon, cheese, fried onions, pickles etc). also they sell two size burgers - "little" and regular but the regular is just two little patties stacked. please note that the "little" burgers are not "little". all the food is packed to go in a brown paper bag like the bags we used to carry our school lunches in. it doesn't matter if you are eating in or taking it to go you will get the brown bag lol. ok a few negatives although they are minor. number one: they have peanuts as snacks which these days will make a certain number of people keep away. number two: their serving size of fries is too large - don't laugh i am dieting and want like 5'fries. they have a small size but that is still huge i would say that the large easily serves 2-3 average people. don't make the mistake we did on our first time there and order each person large fries. i only took a few pictures because the place was crowded and i didn't want to feel like a stalker. definitely give five guys a try - they are well worth it read more
