I do not come to white castle often. But usually when I do I will order on the app and pay at the location. Today I ordered on the app, got right up to the drive thru speaker and was told to go to the window. There were 3 cars in front of me when I arrived. One left soon after. I then sat in what soon became a very long line for over 20 minutes. I did not order much, 12 chicken rings, a small onion rings, and a single slider. Once I got to the window it was quick. The employees were kind. And most importantly the food was hot and made correctly. read more

One last update for this place, because credit given where credit is due - most of the issues I've had here are now fixed, making this location on par with just about every other White Castle I've been to. Wait times are fairly average, though the modern corporate "fad" of running restaurants on absolute skeleton crews really shows through here. It's not the poor workers' fault, but wait times for food have gone through the roof. Even at off-times, you can expect to wait upwards of 10 mins for a fairly simple order, which wouldn't be the case if they would actually hire enough staff. That said, the staff they do have is always friendly and doing their absolute best, despite being shorthanded, so kudos. All in all, the food generally comes out fresh and hot, and I haven't had a problem with a catastrophically wrong order in a long time, so the training issues have also been resolved, nice to see! read more

As White Castles go, this one is a little different. The dining area is more of an open plan, than the usual lined up tables & booths. Also, the decor is more contemp-modern, with nods to its origins with its murals. They also have a display case with souvenirs available for purchase, as well as a DIY soda machine, with a lot of flavors to choose. The grill area behind the counter is open, so you can see the cycle of your burger, from prep to box. Well displayed menus with nutritional content posted as well. Ample counter space for ordering, & they call you by name when your order's ready. All in all, a better location than the one on 37 in Toms River, I have to admit. And, they make the Impossible Burger better here. However, I was taken a little back by the usual unkempt floors & tables. I think management needs to focus better on the cleanliness of the dining areas. White Castle may be my "crave", but, what I really want, is a clean place to eat. read more

Let me just explain something. This is my first real yelp review and that's how frustrating each visit was. Between not having food or being the longest wait of all eternity. This place after multiple and I mean multiple visits, fails to bring me any once of joy. You make the worlds most delicious and cheap burgers and yet fail to satisfy a customer. Every other trip to this establishment has been a terrible experience due to finding hair in my food or the workers have forgot to give me everything I have ordered. Even after I had not gone for a few months, I come back to once again another failed attempt at proper service. I will make the trip to Toms River because this place is filled with incompetence. I used the drive through on my lunch hour. It took 26 minutes from the time I ordered until I hit the pickup window! This happened all four times I've used the drive through at this location. ( but this was the final straw) I cannot spend this much of my time waiting at a " fast food" chain. I'm not one to complain about anything but this place is absolutely unreal. I was in line forever waiting fast food is not a way to call this hell hole. I'm glad they opened as a local but seriously this is t worth the time of day to go to. They always mess the order up and it takes a half hour to get it. For those numbers I'll go elsewhere. Regardless of what my wife and kids think, I love white castle! I was very excited when they opened one up in my hometown brick New Jersey. The cashier that took the order was rather unfriendly, zero customer skills, and did not even say thank you even after I left him a dollar tip. The individual who provided the food in the second window was extremely friendly and pleasant. While the burgers were fine, I found the french fries to be undercooked, and totally white. One would think that the automatic fryer keeps it in until it's cooked and browned. Maybe they need to adjust their fryer. I've been wondering why there were practically no cars in their lot. I went there today, because my grandson wanted to try it. Now I know why there are barely any customers. The place is FILTHY! I implore the Board of Health to visit. All the tables were dirty, of course the floor also. The windowsills were filled with dead bugs. The fries, onion rings and fish burgers tasted like they were fried in week old oil. UGH I can't get that taste out of my mouth. The only decent? thing were the burgers. White Castle is a new jersey institution. This one just opened up in my town and we've been waiting a long time for it. If you've never been to a White Castle let me explain. This is where the term "slider" came from. The burgers are tiny with soft fluffy buns. They are steamed on a grill right in front of you. The burgers have chopped onions, ketchup, and a pickle. A serving size of four sliders. I actually buy 4 but make two doubles by combining two. The fries are crinkle cut but they don't let them even get brown which I don't really like. They have chicken, other toppings for the sliders such as bbq, and breakfast but everything is small. The counter opens to the kitchen so you can watch them make the burgers which I loved to do as a kid. So today the sliders were piping hot, fries hot as well. They have been open for about three weeks and some of the staff is still learning but the manager seems to know what everyone was doing at all times and keeping it running smoothly. Bottom line is that White Castle isn't for everyone (some nicknames include Murder burger and puke burger ) but if you like them then give this new location a try read more

My first visit to the Brick White Castle. Went through the drive-thru and after picking up my order was astonished to find out that FOUR of the 5 White Castle hamburgers I ordered were COLD! I've tried giving this White Castle the benefit of the doubt, however, every single time I go they mess up my order. They're not even complicated orders, just wrong every time. Last time, I went inside to correct the order and heard the manager say "that's the second wrong order given out in the last ten minutes!" No one knows what they are doing. I understand this is a new location, however, it should not take 15 to 20 minutes sitting in the drive-through line waiting to pay and get my food. The one thing that really grosses me out is when I order my sliders with no pickle, and I take the bun off the top to make sure the pickle is not on there and I see an indentation of the pickle that was there, which they just peeled off. To me, that's gross. With the amount of time I wait for my order I expect the burgers to be freshly made being that it's a special order. This is a new restaurant. I found the staff under manned and not ready for the lunch period. This is the second time in a row that the soda machine was not working at all. They did correct the problem before I left. When they took my order I noticed that none of the grills were empty. I knew I was in for a wait. White Castle's hamburgers steam fast. So I did not mind. While I was eating one of the staff was explaining the temperature inside is controlled by something on the roof. For this reason she had no way of adjusting the temperature which was very warm. I like the food so I will return again. But if the ambience don't change I will drive to the restaurant in Toms River in the future. read more

On my visit for lunch on 11/13/19, order was totally incorrect. I ordered 6 cheese sliders and then my son ordered 6 sliders, using the coupon that lured us in for Buy 3 sliders get 3 free. Instead we got just the 6 cheese sliders, with the discount applied to those, and the 6 sliders for my son missing. We had to wait, and pay for rest of order thus increasing our time for lunch. The person taking our order was distracted by also being responsible for the drive-in. Clearly this place is understaffed. On top of this, there was reconstruction going on replacing the front door area. While there was a plastic sheet in front of it, the area was not airtight. So being in the low 20's outside, the restaurant was ice cold. Very uncomfortable having to eat with coats on...and having to sit longer under those conditions waiting longer than necessary for our order to be completed correctly. Our previous visit there was a problem with the soda machine not working. It took a long time for crew to figure out they could dispense us soda from another machine used for the drive-in. The restaurant is open just 6 months as I write this. One would think by now that employees would be able to get orders right and properly handle discount coupons. Walk into an empty store and still have to wait for an employee to come from the back as you see everyone else standing around because it's not their job to take an order. Asked for my food to stay, which showed on the receipt but still given food in a bag, then it was like I was speaking a different language to get a tray and plate. I've read a lot of these reviews and really can't understand the low ratings. The service at this location is great - I've never had an incorrect order and the staff is very friendly. (I've only used the drive thru). I know the wait can sometimes be a little long (for me never more than 15 minutes) but my food has always been hot and fresh - not so from other drive thrus. The food seems just made rather than sitting under a hot light for awhile. White Castle has been a favorite of mine for many years in North Jersey and I'm very happy this one recently opened close to me. read more

If you stop offering/serving a product (shrimp nibblers), you need to send an employee outside to change/remove the ads for that item. Person taking order stated "oh, we stopped serving that a few days ago". Well, I got my them there 2 days ago & Lent wasn't over until 4-1-21. Yes, today is the second; plenty of time to remove misleading signage as they are still advertising it. Maybe corporate offices should think about adding them to menu permanently. So unfortunately waiting a while to come back has only made this one worse. Drive to Toms River or Howell. Pass by this one. Order was right on the screen. Order had to be corrected 4 times at the window. The woman working drive through handed me a third of my order before walking off and getting the next one.
