They make up a pretty good burger here. Still tastes a bit "fast foody", but better than many. I'd like to see them add some choices of cheeses to round things out.The prices are high for the burgers. The fries are an incredible value assuming you're prepared to eat a bucket of them (that's the small size). Beware the Cajun seasoning on the fries as it can get a little salty tasting. Was really excited at the prospect of a good, juicy burger made with all my favourite toppings. Placed my online order, picked up my bacon cheeseburger and fries, and hurried home. I've never been more disappointed upon merely unwrapping than I was when I opened up this burger. Let's face it, Five Guys is a chain. Yes, I'll admit the quality of thr beef is a notch above fast food, but you just can't cheat a good burger. It's greasy, almost of slider quality but it's too big to feel ok after eating entirely. Messily slapped together like a fast food sandwich. My lettuce was not what I'd call green and therefore definitely not fresh. I pulled a brown piece off even. Bun was soggy (ok, I ordered carry out, so that may be my fault) and in general the whole burger was just bland. Don't even get me started on the fries. I'll suffice it to say: soggy, greasy, limp, and overall comparable to spaghetti. Kudos on a wonderful online ordering system -- I actually used the iPhone app. However, I don't see myself frequenting (or even occasionally visiting...) this place, especially with so many wonderful independent burger joints in the area. They fries was cold and they didn't out one of my fries in a cup they just threw them in the bag. Not good customer service at all.

The hamburgers are just to greasy. The fries are awful. Won't be back especially ever since the Basement Burger opened up. They have much better hamburgers than Five Guys and more healthy. I am not a frequent diner here as I find it grossly overpriced. But the fries are wonderful. Today I found myself ordering the bacon cheese hotdog for a whopping $5.09 adding on a small fry and a soda my bill came in at just under $12.00. I waited about 5 minutes for the order. While waiting I filled my cup with soda which had an off taste. I mentioned to a worker and someone did come right out to determine problem. After I completed my meal and waited another 5 minutes I turned to ask if the machine was fixed. The worker said yes so I filled my cup. I didn't notice any difference so I spilled my cup in the drain and walked out. The worker asked if I wanted my money back but I told him to forget it, I was tired of waiting. I was surprised at how fresh everything is made. Everything is cooked when ordered and isn't frozen. I'm not a huge burger fan but these were some mighty fine tasting burgers. I also had the Cajun fries. They were perfect with the perfect amount of spice added. My little one had a hotdog. It looked weird and tasted odd. She refused to eat it. They are pricey, don't expect to walk out spending less than $50 for a family of four. read more

I read about this chain started by a guy from northern Michigan and a graduate of UofM that started a burger business 'cause his boys didn't want to go to college (and who can blame them, with tuition bankrupting students!) and used fresh, locally grown produce.. So, I had to try it.. First, I'm not too wild about the burgers... they were thin patties (they say they cook faster) and cooked "well done" .. and not exactly "juicy". And their "regular" sandwich has two patties, so pretty hefty, and don't count calories... (add bacon and cheese, and we're talking almost 1,000 calories, here!). And the bun, although soft and fresh, squishes pretty flat. Only a "C" here. The fries are great! .. but, the orders are HUGE! .. the "regular" is big enough for 2 or 3 people! But, they are fresh and thick with the skins left on and great texture and rich flavor (probably from the peanut oil). Definitely an "A" here!! Prices are higher than Mickey D's and BK, but less than most bars. (My bill for two burgers, one order regular fries and one Coke, was $15.97) They have peanuts you can have while you wait.. and there's a hand-lettered chalk board showing the farm the potatoes came from that day. The bags of potatoes are piled high on the floor, so you can see they are not frozen. The kitchen is open and you can see the guys making the hand-formed patties just for you and here them talking at the grill. Friendly bunch. I had really looked forward to having a good burger for a change. Well, it didn't happen here. The burger had little taste and the fries were nothing to speak of either. My wife's opinion of this place was the same. I did like their set-up where you could watch your food being cooked. A-OK about sums up this location of Five Guys Burgers and Fries- i think I went to the very first one in Michigan over in Southfield about 3-4 years ago and was in love at the time. Now, once you've been to one Five Guys, you've been to them all. The requisite order at the counter, then wait with the free peanuts was in full force here. I don't think one thing has changed since they've opened, which is ok in my book. The burgers themselves are freshly cooked, freshly topped, and freshly packed upon ordering- they actually seem to automatically start one patty for each customer as we entered. But I digress. I tend to order a regular cheeseburger (which is actually a double cheeseburger) all the way, minus the mushrooms and add fresh jalapenos. I like that the jalapenos are fresh (still green and not the dull grayish green the pickled kind are)... it give the burger a nice hot flavor without the need for hot sauce of any kind. The patties are always well done, but juicy with enough fat and seasoning to make this a true meaty delight. Add on some hot fries (if you carry out, yes, the fries may get soggy, but as long as you're splurging on burgers, you can splurge on greasy delicious fries. The one drawback to the place is the location- during lunch hours and weekend days, the entire strip mall this location is at is virtually impossible to navigate with all the cars in the parking lots- i would kill for this location to actually be on the corner where Plato's or Potbelly is... a drive through Five Guys would be amazing! Oh and the 100+ fountain drink machine is also a bonus as well! read more

We don't come here often (or any fast food place really) but they do make a good burger. Much better than the rest of the fast food places around, much fresher and doesn't seem to have a ton of salt on every part of it. They are a bit expensive but you do get a lot, I'm basing this off of ordering a basic burger and fries combo. If you finish everything in one sitting you'll probably be sleepy, or feel disgusted with yourself. Thankfully they finally got around to offering a smaller size of fries at least. Basically a good choice for a fast food burger if you don't have time to just make one at home. Bonus points go to the fact that they have great soda machines too (the ones that let you mix and match several flavors as opposed to just a few choices) or maybe we're just easily amused. read more

If you can accept that Five Guys is a "fast food" type chain (without a drive-thru), your expectations don't have to go as high. As far as chain burgers go, this one is a first pick for me. I don't know how long that will last until I pay a visit to the new Basement Burger Bar, but Five Guys, I just can't quit you. First, Five Guys is a rare treat for us because of how unhealthy we feel after eating it. Not that it has anything to do with this particular location-- they're all like that. I'm not going to lie... these guys love their oil. Especially on their fries. But does that make the fries taste any less good? Not to me. In fact, I'm such a huge fan of the Cajun fries they make here that I'm always ordering more than I can handle eating. But every bite is worth it, taste wise. Yeah, you'll want to do some heavy jogging after what you realized you just put into your body, but sometimes the taste is totally worth it. They're... addictive. Even now, I'm drooling thinking about them. The burgers are so juicy and delicious, but be warned... they are a little messy. I'm one of those folks that enjoys topping their burger with about ten things. I love my burgers (and any other food, for that matter) extremely spicy. So I end up with a messier burger than most with all of my hot sauce and jalapenos and such. Taste-wise... they're incredible. I don't mind a little bit of a mess when I'm eating my food in the sanctity of my home, anyway. I look a lot less like a pig that way. Their drink machine is something else. I don't see things like that at many other chains, and it's a really nice touch. You can choose a soda of your choice and add some flavoring to it, and they have multiple flavors of all kinds. I always get some nice strawberry Sprite. It's a refreshing addition to help wash down the food I'm scarfing down way too fast. As I said... the taste is to die for, but the way you feel afterward? I can't promise you'll feel good physically. I tend to get a little tired afterward from all of the carbs and fat, and the bloating... ugh. Very disappointing. This location had clutter all over and yet the 5 employees on duty seemed more interested in their personal phones. The drink station area was a mess of trash and no one seemed to care. My burger was not cooked all the way either. Gross and unacceptable. I tend to forget about this location for some reason probably because it doesnt have a drive thru. Now to the food. I love a Five Guys burger and even the hot dogs. I like that you can customize your burger and get 1 or 2 meat patties and various toppings. The fries are so good and who doesn't want a half bag full which is how much they give you. The peanuts are a nice added touch while you're waiting for your food. Don't forget the shakes too. My only issue I have with Five Guys is lack of variety. Most fast food burger places introduce new products to bring you in. I understand that they keep the menu the same as part of their business model and it works. There's a few different Five Guys that I've been to but this is the gold standard. I eat here once or twice a month because it has the consistency of a chain but the quality of a good dive bar. The burgers are huge and greasy. You get a sarcastic amount of fries- like it's your buddy making them and he's like "hey bro I'm gonna hook you up". They have the deluxe drink machine with the 742 flavors you can mix as you like and of course, the trademark peanuts to munch on while you wait because they fry in peanut oil (soybean oil is pretty horrible). And get a shake. Chocolate peanut butter is my favorite. Customer service is excellent too, the staff is efficient, attentive and friendly. The dining area and even the bathroom seem to be kept surprisingly clean given it's a burger joint. The pricing is more than I want to pay but considering how much fast food prices have gone up, it's worth the extra dollar or two to get 'fast casual' here and get food that I'll actually enjoy. $20-$25 for two when you add in fries, a drink and/or shake versus $10-$20 for two people in a rival's drive thru where I'm eating more synthetic chemicals and less flavor. My only complaint- I had a hot dog once and there's a reason it's not called Five Guys Hot Dogs and fries. read more

I have been disappointed more than once when it come to the fries. They're always burnt or soggy when I receive my order. I always have to ask for a fresh fry from the grease and that's not cool at all. And to make matters worse it's the manager on duty that presents my order to me when she should already knows how fresh the fry has to be and coming from a person that use to work for the company, I know the quality of a "Five Guys" fry but for the past month I've been getting nothing but burnt/soggy fries. read more

I love the concept and execution of the business model. I think they do a great job with decor and the design on both the interior and exterior of the business. However, I can't stand the burgers and the fries don't seem like anything special either. I think it mostly has to do with the bun and what happens to it after it was trapped in the foil wrapper. This place is becoming hit and miss. I've been there at least 8 times and it's becoming a real crapshoot on whether I'll enjoy it or not. I've only had one bad burger (at this particular location). The bun was real soggy and smashed flat. It still tasted good, because the burgers are really good, but it wasn't great like they have been every other time. The fries can be greasy at times, but I don't mind greasy fries so I still like them. Overall, the quality of fries have always been good. The quantity of fries was always the amazing part. There are usually more fries OUTSIDE the container than inside! Until recently. :( The last 3 times I've been there, there's barely a handful more than what will fit in the container. Paying almost $2.50 for a small fry is justified when they load you up, but not when the fill the cup and call it good. That's a ripoff. If it continues to happen, I'm going to quit going there. There have already been times when I opted to go somewhere else instead of taking my chances with them. If I can't feel confident that it will be worthwhile, I'll quit going altogether. I'm willing to pay $13 for a burger, fry and drink when they're firing on all cylinders, I just have a hard time trusting them anymore. :( read more

This was the only place open on nye and my friend and I were heading to a movie. I ordered a veggie sandwich and a drink. The drink machine was fascinating. The sandwich.... I'm glad I only took one bite. The veggies looked great, but they had somehow incorporated dried beef chunks into my VEGGIE sandwich. Disgusting. The boyfriend and I went here a while ago after hearing all the hype about it. And man were we disappointed. The burgers were horrible. Thin, beyond well-done patties that were dry as a bone. The fries? Almost as bad (and I like the kind of fries that still have the skins on). The whole meal had so much grease, it was disgusting. I have a minor peanut allergy (I know, I know, they cook everything in peanut oil), but was willing to suffer through a night of itchy-ness to satisfy my craving for a GOOD burger. This is my favorite Five Guys. I've been to other locations and been less impressed. The burgers at this location are very consistent. They taste exactly the same each time I go here. Their prices are good, I usually just get a burger, no fries, so it's under $7. Staff is fun, atmosphere is loud. I usually get it to go because I don't prefer the noisy, open atmosphere. Is it top quality? No. It is delicious? Absolutely. Don't go here if you want a salad, that should be a no brainier. If you go in expected a good burger for cheap you should be satisfied. read more

I have heard nothing but raving awesomeness about this place from the guys at work. When they built one in Canton, I was instantly excited, for I LOVE burgers. When I say I love them, I would have been one when I grew up if I would have had the option. 5 guys would mean I would have to force myself away from the sushi place across the street (which is awesome). However, after I got my food I was severely disappointed. I ordered by meal to-go to eat at home and when I unwrapped my burger I got a nice surprise...it was wet. Not a little bit, but a lot. It looked as if the burger and its bun (or what was left of it) sat under Niagara Falls for a millennium. I paid the $6 for the burger alone, so I made sure to eat it. The meat was juicy, or greasy ( I couldn't tell) and was an average burger. Much like Wendy's double, but more expensive. The fries were a bit better, but again, nothing special. I could have replicated this whole meal on my barbecue for less money. For me, this place was a one time thing. It was too expensive for what you got and nothing out of the ordinary grabbed my attention. Although, if friends were going there, I would try something else on their menu. read more
