Shared Cajun fries. Good so far. The bad? Both of the fountain drink dispensers were severely deficient on the syrup to carbonated water ratio. They seemed a tad understaffed on a Thursday early afternoon and the food took around 15 minutes. They definitely need to pick up the pace with those prices. They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating with a stunning view of the mountains. I'm usually talking and asking questions but i have to gauge what someone's going to be now. They were both pleasant but shrunk back to their spot in the back after Adam ordered. Body language. We happened to be in the area and we're all hungary. Trying to decide between all the food options between the three of us. We really didn't want to drive around Castlerock until we agreed on a food.This was the final decision we agreed on. The parking lot has other facilities like dentist and a cute little cupcake shop to name a few. The facility has a sanitizing station as you walk in. Good to know they care.The menu is huge and you can customize the burger the way you like. We all ordered burgers and they also sell hotdogs. I ordered a little cheeseburger with mushrooms. The mushrooms were really juicy ended up taking a big bite of them as they were dripping down my face. They have a drinking station with a plethora of soda options. Also vitamin water with zero sugar. Also snacked on some peanuts while we were wait. The dining area was clean with not too many people around. Everyone seemed to still be socially distancing. The wait time was reasonable about 10-15 minutes.The only fault is they messed up one of the burger orders but they rectified the situation. Even apologized to him. It's been a while since I've patronized Five Guys...we were hungry for dinner and saw the sign, decided to give them a shot. Nearly $30 later for a couple of cheeseburgers, fries and drinks and we were happy enough with our dinner choice but far from thrilled. Aside from the plethora of toppings for your burger, I'm not sure the burger had much great taste - I'm used to a wonderful grill flavor from many other burger joints. The buns were soft - almost too soft such that they were gummy. American cheese was nice and gooey! Fries were ok, some soft some crispy - perhaps not as fresh as I may have enjoyed. Ketchup only available in packets now thanks to COVID. Chose your own flavor soda (Coke) machines are always fun. So I love French fries. Because I love French fries I cannot rate this place higher than a three. Their French fries are terrible. Steak fries but not cooked well at all. Tastes like they're undercooked in the middle and soaked in oil. The little bacon cheeseburger I had was tasty. We have always been fans of 5 Guys, as amtter of fact we have visited them all over the South. I visited this location with my kids today, and paid almost $37 for a plain hot dog, anotherone with grill jalapeños and bacon, a small burger also with grill jalapeños, medium frys and 3 small drinks. The courtesy peanuts were burned or rotten. When we got the food, the bacon on the hotdog was completely over cooked and not edible, the frys were dry and over fryed, it seemed as they were refryed, burger was good. I went to speak with the guy who handed over the food and expressed our concern, but he did not care. Hate doing bad reviews but I just had a horrible experience with this location I need to warn people about. I ordered online with a 230 pickup but my food wasn't ready when I got there at 235. I asked for my order and they finished all other store orders first and then finished mine. Next issue was I got home and realized I didn't get all my food. Know I should have checked but was super tired from a long business trip. Understand mistakes happen so called the store and they didn't understand English and was put on hold for a very long time: called back later and second person who said he was the manager didn't understand English and didn't understand what I was saying. So I called corporate five guys and they took my complaint but had no idea when anyone would get back to me and if I could get the rest of my food. Extremely expensive for just a little burger! $10 and it was cold. The cheese was cold too. It had no condiments on it. I asked for ketchup and mustard and they all just looked at me. I soon figured out they didn't speak any English, so I pointed and they still wouldn't give me any. Finally one of the workers went and got someone and she came out and asked me what I needed. What can I say about Five Guys... A little history: First Five Guys location was in Arlington, VA (1986). Due to the popular demand, they opened five more locations within five years. Hmmmm I'm starting to think that the number five has a lot to do with decision making with them. In 2003 they started selling franchises which duh sells out. Too bad they don't have one for Hawaii as I would buy one. In 2009 Mr. President Obama himself made news by going into a Five Guys and ordering cheese burgers for himself and for the news crew that was following him around that day. After that, Five Guys had everyone talking about who they were and how do they get a burger like the President. Yes even this In N Out guy had to go look for one. One of the first things you will see is a big barrow with peanuts inside. Yes those are free to eat while you wait for your food. I think by now everyone knows about their burgers and how you have a wide variety of choices to customize your burger to your taste. They also have killer fries too! For this burger guy to give only three stars to a burger place he likes going to, there has to be reasons... Well here they are: More and more locations are getting their shakes on.... Unfortunately this place doesn't have any shakes. We also ordered their large cajun fries which might I tell you looked the same as their regular sized one. Five Guys is my only "fast-food" burger stop. The Castle Rock store has been open since May and is often very busy. The service is good - for a fast food joint, better than any other fast food restaurant in the area with exception of the local Chick-fil-a (Chick-fil-a sets the standard for quality fast food service). As you walk in the door you're likely to hear them yell out the number of people in your party - "2 in the door". Your burgers are made fresh to order, so yes it will take about 10 minutes from the time you walk in the front door, so "fast food" is somewhat debatable. However, the burgers fresh, hot, and tasty. Burgers, fries, and hotdogs - no shakes. Ordering is a little different, but I like it since I don't want ketchup or mayonnaise on my burger. Burgers come in three basic styles: Hamburger, Cheeseburger, and Bacon Cheeseburger, all of which are double patty burgers. If you want a single patty just say "Little" first, as in "Little Cheeseburger". After that, specify the items you want on the burger, all at no extra cost. The jalapeños are excellent because they are fresh, not canned. That goes for all the toppings. The quality and flavor of the beef is very good, and so are the fries. For those who want to stay away from the evil (but delicious) fries, they offer free unlimited peanuts while you wait for your order. If you do order fries, they are plentiful so a small order is probably plenty for two people. Out back they have a nice patio with a great view of the Rocky Mountains, my favorite pace to site - when it was clean. My biggest complaint is the patio furniture has become very dirty and greasy. They really need to DEGREASE THE PATIO chairs and tables once a week with car-wash soap and a good brushing. Inside, the tables are kept adequately clean. Clean the patio furniture and I give this place four stars. I have been a big fan of In-N-Out burgers for years. One of my favorite places to grab a burger. Great view, great location and great service. I won't try to sell you on Five Guys too much. However, I haven't had a bad experience at a Five Guys...ever. Choices are basic but that's what makes it great. All fresh ingredients. This particular location is desirable as it is right off 25 and in the shopping area of Castle Rock. The interior is what you would expect but, the patio out back has a panoramic view of the mountains. Umbrellas to keep the hot sun off of you and bathrooms conveniently located by patio...should you desire... For those who have kids, it also has a ice cream/yogurt shop next door and also a noodle joint for families and friends of different tastes. 2 stars because usually this place does pretty well.... I'm really sorry to say tonight was just terrible :( A friend and I each had a burger and some fries, dined in and it seemed to be alright. Customer service was good, toppings were correct, tables and space was all relatively clean, etc... But within 30 minutes we had to cut our plans for the evening off due to both of us feeling so sick to our stomachs. I've never genuinely had a business ruin an evening until now!! They seemed meals to get so sick immediately is ridiculous. We both ate the beef, buns, bacon, fries, cheese, and mushrooms, and ordered fountain drinks. I called the on duty manager immediately to let them know about the food.... She didn't say anything except sorry and she took my info, and when my friend called he said he was given a phone number which didn't work to contact the owner. Since I work in food service myself and I've had to know how to handle situations like this or similar with professionalism, I was unimpressed- recieveing and handling a phone call like that can be unpleasant, but it is part of customer service, and especially in the food industry, there should be a defined way to handle problems. They guy who runs this place is a jerk. Ordered online and showed up on time. Sat there for 45 min. Just us in the place and one lone bag on the counter. We kept trying to pick it up and they said it wasn't ours. Finally decided 30 min later it WAS ours. They remade it and gave us soggy burgers and undercooked fries. Complained and was told "Ridiculous you would be upset over a burger!" Uh..that's my dinner moron..and I paid 20.00 for that disgusting LATE slop. Avoid at all costs. Burgers ok but poor service. I would give it only a half star if I could I have been a steady customer for years and I have introduced many friends to Five Guys in many states. The product is good but after today's experience, the absence of customer service will keep me away and send me elsewhere. There are too many alternatives to a $10 burger served by snotty people. Particularly when it is 3pm and not at all busy. What happened? First the person at the register could not even speak enough English to count back my change. I checked my order ticket to make sure it was what I ordered and it was. When I picked up my order and sat down at the table, I saw that my burger was not cut in half as ordered and printed on the ticket. I returned to the counter and requested it be cut in half. The person sarcastically said "We don't take food back after you pick it up. There are plastic knives over there, cut it yourself!" Well I tried but the little knife broke and the burger splattered all over the table. At this point I was so frustrated, embarrassed and hurt, I just got up and left. Not that it is important, but I have a medical condition like Parkinson's that necessitates my food being cut into smaller portions and I shake so badly that cutting things myself particularly with a small, weak, dull knife is something I cannot do. Over the past six years and dozens of burgers, I have had to return to the counter maybe six times and they have always been kind and accommodating. Unfortunately, today they had a bad crew who had no awareness of how to do their job or how to serve people. I would fire the entire group for laziness along with whoever was supposed to train and supervise them. Surprisingly another patron followed me outside and kindly offered to buy me another burger or get me a refund. While I really appreciated her Christmas Spirit, I was so turned off by the experience, I could not even imagine eating at the place again. Too expensive - $17.03 for a burger, fries, and a soda. I suggest a value menu with $1 fries, as the smaller size would be just fine. Fancy cane sugar soda may warrant $2.70, but High Fructose Corn Syrup soda does not. I don't care about the freestyle machine and am not willing to pay a premium for a blackberry vanilla orange coke. I'd rather have a plain old coke for $1.25. I think I'll try the Jr. burger and a cup of water next time. If I want to spend $17 on a burger and fries *plus* a shake, I'll be over at Crave (Real Burgers). I love five guys! Basically it's a better version of In-N-Out. Yeah, whatever die hard In-N-Out people, drive out of state to one, fine by me. That way there are less people in line for Five Guys when I go get a proper burger. Word from the wise, the little burger is probably all you need. The regular comes with two patties and will give you a serious case of the food comas. Remember that and the fact that the French fries come in a lunch bag because there are just so freaking many of them that no cup could possibly hold them all, and you will be fine. This is the best fast food burger around. Here is how it works. You tell the casher what you want (you want a burger) and if you want cheese/bacon on it (yes you do). Then you select the toppings. I get something different every time but it usually involves A1. I mean, if it can turn your rubber steak into something eatable why not put it on any meat you can? Go crazy there is no extra charge. Lastly you check your belt to make sure it can handle the extra strain and order fries and a drink. The soda comes from the super coke machine with the hundred million flavors. Since you are an adult you get a diet coke, no reason to be a glutton, and wait for them to call your order. OH I AMLOST FORGOT! They have peanuts in the shell for you to snack on while you wait. Burger, Customer Service, Tile Walls, Floors, and Bathroom ALL very SLOPPY! This is my second time to this location and I was forgiving on the first as it was during the lunch rush. Not this time. 4:35pm is well after lunch and still a bit before rush hour traffic unloaded off the roads for an evening meal. I watched my burger grow cold waiting for the fries to finish in the fryer line with 5 people behind the counter. When the fries were finished, one order at a time, my cold burger was covered beneath a volcanic mound of oily spud sticks in a brown paper bag. Not cool! I know this is a new location and all but I think some extra training is needed and attention to detail to the interior would be nice. Here's a tip, if your going to put red and white checker tiles on the walls, pay attention to the white tiles that collect dirt and soda spills. This meal was not worth $12. read more

Five Guys are everywhere on the East Coast and moving out here 2 years ago I found Smash Burger to be the big chain out here so I haven't had the pleasure of enjoying Five Guys since moving. When I was in Castle Rock for some much needed Outlet shopping I was feeling like a burger and was in between Crave and Five Guys. Keep in mind I've been to Crave and loved it. I haven't been to Five Guys in over two years and was feeling nostalgic. I want to experience Crave with a group of Yelpers and make it a destination, Five Guys is still a satisfying burger so I decided to opt for Five Guys. I love knowing where my potato's came from, that's a fun Five Guy thang. This visit they were from West Virginia, interesting. I usually go for a Little Cheese Burger (one pattie) with 5-6 toppings of my choice and a side of Cajun fries. Completely satisfying, more fries than humanly possible to consume in one sitting and a soda from the crazy coke machine that provides 10,000 flavor combinations.
