He should have looked down on his many visits to see that my food was barely eaten. Besides the average food, I ordered a whisky with an ice ball. This was our first time visiting. The service was great and the atmosphere was inviting. Unfortunately the food was not good. I wanted a bison burger, but was told they were out. I switched to the beef dip. It was loaded with cheese and onions, and two thin slices of tough, fatty brisket. I tried cutting off the fat, but what little meat was leftover was inedible. I was grateful for my side salad. My husband ordered the BBQ brisket sandwich. There was also very little meat and the sauce was overwhelming. At least his meat was tender and edible. My daughter ordered the pretzel. It was nothing special, and the cheese sauce tastes artificial. It was also $1 more than either of our sandwiches which seems crazy for a pretzel. Went the Bucketlist opened, I went there a couple of times with friends and family (those promotional mailings worked)...but overall came away thinking this place has average bar food, average everything at above average prices. Lately I've been back a couple of times, and I'm happy to say that this place has hit its stride...the food, the service, and the vibe, are significantly improved. The beer selection still leaves a little to be desired (and it kind of seems like the same bland beer list that I've seen at The Library or ICB or somewhere) A definite thumbs up to the wings, nachos, and old fashioneds! read more

This is a restaurant struggling to find an identity between Bucket List and Doug's and our server/bartender told us much. I just don't know what it is about this place, but after the third time, I think it's going to be the last for us. In general, it seems like most people and reviews are happy, and yet, we have an odd experience when we go, and more is off than on. It just doesn't seem like this is worth our time or money to keep trying. Determined to not sit on the bar side, which is loud and uncomfortable, we asked to be on the restaurant side. First, know that one table was occupied with six women. The only other 'customer' in the room was a half-eaten pretzel on a separate table. When I asked for a table in that room, I was told that room was closed. When I mentioned again, since others were in there, and since the bar area was loud, another woman confirmed with the hostess that we wouldn't bother the private party. I'm not sure if there was a private party, but it didn't seem like the table of six cared one way or another. Either way, strange back and forth, and we were eventually seated in that room. We then waited a long time for the waitress to show up. When she did, she was quite friendly and apologetic for the wait. Ok, good. We ordered the same dishes we've had before. I got the chimichurri chicken, which had been good on our first visit, and my daughter got the bourbon bacon burger, which she had also liked. We waited a long time for food, but then it finally came out. The first thing we noticed was the giant tomato slice on the burger, even though my daughter asked to hold it. Other than that mishap, the burger and fries were both good. Not so much with my chicken. Overall, the dish was lukewarm at best. Clearly, mine was ready first and sat waiting (and cooling) while my daughter's dish was prepared. Chicken was overcooked, dry, and cold. The corn mash side was fine, but again, the avocado rice wasn't good. Overcooked or maybe undercooked, it's just wrong and shouldn't be included. Service was slow the rest of the night. My daughter's glass sat empty even after the waitress asked if we needed anything. Slow to get the bill, and slow to get out of these. Sorry, Bucket List. Even with a 50% coupon, three strikes and you're out. There are much better places with better food, better prices, and better service nearby. read more

Well, as much as I complain about parking, this restaurant is the opposite - very easy to find and the parking lot was a breeze. We were immediately greeted when we opened the door. We sat in the bar which provided a view looking over Castle Rock. The nachos had me curious - instead of the default Jalapeño peppers, Shishito Peppers were used. They complemented the other flavors very well. We settled on the BBQ Bacon Burger and Bourbon Bacon Burger. Both were delicious. The Bourbon Bacon Jam was not overly sweet and the thick cut Candied Bacon was over the top. We really wanted to try a dessert but our the nachos and burgers squelched our hunger. The menu was small, but it will be difficult to make a choice and possibly find a favorite dish. read more

My boyfriend and mom wanted to grab dinner after shopping at Castle Rock Outlets. This seemed like a neighborhood bar, our server, Taryn G was so sweet, attentive and helpful. As it was our first visit, we wanted recommendations for food and she was on point with her advice. My boyfriend and mom shared the beef dip and hot wings. I had the fish and chips. It was all so good. My boyfriend said the beef in the sandwich was so tender, juicy and flavorful. It was pretty chilly today so we had hot toddy's, top three best I've had. For that money, this place is subpar. The food is just okay at most and the atmosphere is typical. The staff was nice but all around us we heard complaints about missing waiters. My family and I dined here yesterday. My younger son had diarrhea as soon as we got home. I have been nauseous ever since eating the fish and chips. My daughter in law took one bite of her food and spit it out. Everything was served room temperature. With the symptoms we are experiencing someone in the food prep area is not washing their hands after using the restroom. We all agreed this is some of the worst food any of us ever had. I wish I could leave zero stars. Our experience began with a very indifferent waitress. She didn't even look at us. We started with the spicy summer edimame topped with parmesean. Although it was visually appealing, the edimame must have been heated up in a microwave several times. The skin was too tough to even pop them open. We each tried two and gave up. Our waitress never once checked on us and neglected to provide utensils or napkins. Appetizer - uneaten. We also ordered the Mockingbird mocktail. We have had some incredible mocktails that were almost a work of art as well as some that were pretty tasty. The Mockingbird, at $7.95 each, tasted like watered down Kool-aid. Neither of our drinks were finished. I ordered a side salad which was served with mango and baby shrimp. The greens were lifeless, the mango was complete mush, and the dressing was tasteless. Moving on to dinner...I ordered the Short Rib Pasta. The best thing I can say is that the pasta was cooked al-dente. The short ribs were at least 1/3rd fat, and the meat left was unimpressive. The red wine sauce was akin to a room temperature $2 red that was poured over the pasta before it was served. I ate three bites, not even enough to show I even tasted it. Another waste of money at $27.75. Finally, the greatest disappointment of all was the 8 Oz. Riley at $29.75. It was described as having garlic Burre and chimichurre, served with mashed potatoes and green beans, and my son opted for french fries and they were the only truly edible item ordered. My son ordered it medium rare. I was completely appalled when it was served. The "ribeye" was the same thickness as a regular hamburger at McDonalds, and the meat was very well done. There was no pink to be found, only a dreary grey. The greens beans presented as if they should only be served to someone on a soft diet and went uneaten. My son did make an effort to eat the meat, but had to douse A1 on it to make it through barely half eaten. The garlic burre and chimichurre were non-existent. After an appetizer, a side salad, and two "House Specials" sat almost completely uneaten, we had to hunt down our waitress for the bill. At no point did she ask how our meal was (blatantly obvious that nothing was eaten), were offered any sort of drink, didn't offer boxes, and had the audacity to set the bill on our table while she was talking to a co-worker. With a 20% unearned tip, our total came to $95.00 for a incredibly regretful meal. All that being said, their wing options and burger/sandwich items appeared thought out, and the beer glasses on other tables looked like generous pours. We have eaten at dives to extravagant restaurants coast to coast, and have had quite a few lovely experiences ordering the House Specials. I am pleading with The Bucket List to re-evaluate what you advertise as House Specials, because all you are doing is distracting patrons from the things that you do well. read more

The food was pretty good, although my burger had mayonnaise on it and I did not recall seeing that listed on the menu. Date night and we were going to another restaurant but saw this one and decided to try it. He regretted it. Which is surprising since I'm usually the picky one. Warren N. was our server and he was great. The hostess also seated us right away. So service was not the issue. The issue is the level the music was played at and the food taste. The music was loud enough that everyone was shouting to be heard. Just turn it down a little for the ambiance to be less like a bar and more like a restaurant. The food was meh. Beef dip and fish and chips were what we decided on. The beef dip was average and the fish and chips meh. The fries were pretty good which was the best part for the both of us. The fish batter was good - not too thick but the fish was not fresh. It smelled and the taste was - well, tasteless. Won't be going back. Expensive and not worth it. Bucket List Tavern is worth the visit. Regularly. Friends joined me for dinner there a while back and introduced me to the gumbo. The layers of flavor were sooooo good and it's easily shareable so you can have room to try more of their dishes. The Korean Pasta portion was very generous and included plenty of chicken. Recently I split their BLT with someone and I wish I had paid closer attention. This sandwich is bursting with ingredients: the bacon, lettuce and tomato of course but they also include a chicken breast, arugula and plenty of avocado. It is shareable for lunch and really hit the spot! Their nachos are flavorful but not spicy. We added chicken and every chip had a nice combo of toppings for each bite. Finally, try a dessert. I think they get overlooked after such a solid meal and if you're full. But they've been very good. This restaurant is choosing quality products from many local vendor. They're planning to roll out some new menu items on 2/18/24 according to what I heard this week if you want to try something new. Their GM is engaging and will step in as needed even if it's just to take your visit up a half notch. Their team comes across like they care which is very nice. Came for Sunday lunch- we were seated right away and our waitress -Jennifer was super sweet. I got the Tavern burger with no bun, my husband orders the spicy situation which he loved. He said the chicken and sweet bacon was super tasty. I enjoyed the fried and fried pickle. The burger was ok, not anything different but good. My kids got the cheese pizza and tenders! There's plenty on each serving for the kids and we had to take it home. The place is huge, has plenty of seatings especially on foot all games. I'd been wanting to try Bucket List Tavern for a few months now. If nothing else, I like the name. Most reviews are good, but a few are a bit discouraging. So today, a Saturday, we were out and about in that area. Too late for lunch, but a little early for dinner. We received a cheerful greeting from the hostess who greeted us, and excellent friendly service from our server, Evan. My husband chose the "hangover burger", and a house salad which was an included side. He devoured both. I chose the short rib pasta. It was delicious! It came with some flavorful toasted bread. (Half of my serving came home with me). We were delighted with the food and service, from start to finish. We even loved the pleasing white dishes that were used. As a bonus, I ran into a woman wearing a white coat while on the way to the ladies room. I asked her if she was the chef, and she said yes. I gave her our complements, and also let her know how much we appreciated having not your typical bar food. Definitely on a different level than what we have typically found in the area. She was very gracious, and said that is their aim to offer a bit of the unexpected, and to vary the menu from time to time. Bucket List is a fine establishment with well-trained employees, and a varied menu of delicious food. Give it a try! I'm sure it won't be long until our next visit! read more

A fun gathering place with great service and good food. We took advantage of the great view on the HUGE outside patio for drinks and happy hour. Nachos were covered with cheese, beans, veggies and brought out hot and delicious. The fries... OMG! I could have eaten a full plate by myself! The only misstep was the chicken fingers.... There were problems with our service. Our server seem to be overworked in fact towards the end of the night she was in tears telling us that the kitchen was yelling at her. Seems like chaos in the restaurant. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with the soup of the day, which was tomato bisque. I received the grilled cheese sandwich. It was very strange. There was hardly any cheese in the bread and I received a bowl with liquid cheese in it. I didn't know what to do with this. I asked where my soup was after about 15 minutes. The server came back and said oh I'm sorry we sold out of it earlier today so we cannot bring it. Well, that was the only reason why I got the grilled cheese sandwich. We came for the brunch. Pros: waitress was awesome. Super friendly and accommodating. The lavender beignets and cinnamon rolls were ok. First round of beignets were raw dough.
