    Little cheeseburger

This was our first take out order from 5 guys during the Pandemic- but it won't be our last!! I didn't know they were open- and I got an email from Barracks Road Shops that mentioned that 5 guys was open- for take -out or curbside pick up!! The website was easy to maneuver to pick all your favorite toppings( grilled onions!! Yummm!) and ordering was clear and fast. We got there and called the phone number for curbside pickup and a masked, polite young man brought the bag of delicious food to our car! We got home and enjoyed an easy Sunday dinner!! Usually we get more expensive burgers- but are completely satisfied with our food from 5 guys- also they have No Bun, and Lettuce Wrapped as choices- for everyone who doesn't want a bun!!! Thanks 5 guys for making our quarantine more fun!!

Double bacon cheeseburger with bbq sauce and jalapenos

Good, consistent location, 1 out of 3 in cville. If you need a tasty burger or grilled cheese don't hesitate to hit this spot. My norm is the Bacon Double Cheeseburger with bbq sauce and jalapeños. I can't get enough!! The staff is always nice here and deliver what you request. Every time that I have ordered from here I haven't waited long either. The quantity of fries and toppings definitely aren't skimped on. The interior could use a little more cleaning as far as table tops but I have witnessed some sweeping action happening within the restaurant :). The exterior is part of a strip mall so it is well maintained. Depending on the day parking/distance could be an issue.

When I'm in the mood for the burger I'm often in for no nonsense and no unnecessary frills. Five Guys always deliver the goods with their burgers, heavy on taste and usually pretty heavy on their fry portions. Fast food done right with no compromises on tatse. I was pleased to see Five Guys making an appearance in my home City on the other side of the pond also.

    Not $5 worth of fries

Do not waste your money at any Five Guys in Charlottesville. They are owned by the same person. The fries portions are not correct & attention to detail on burger order is not there either.

I really do not know how anyone can award a place that provides peanuts to your heart's content anything less than 5 stars. ESPECIALLY ELEPHANTS!!!!! All right, terrible jokes aside, they only serve hot dogs, hamburgers, and fries. But wow! are they delicious and greasy. The small menu works because of their fully customizable burger with the fresh add-ins. The fries are delicious and the price point is a seller. Rating this place based off a fast-food joint standard, Five Guys is top notch. Now, all they need is a drive-thru window and a soft serve machine to compete with McDonalds and they're all set. Who else can claim that their meat is NEVER preserved in a freezer? That's what I call fresh! Plus, free peanuts!

Good food but way overpriced. $10 for a burger and Fries is simply unacceptable. If you've ever been to in and out you'll know what I mean

The chicken tenders came out of this world ! A+ ! Today I…read moremade an online order and after submitting the order I realized that nowhere I was asked what level of Spiciness I want and when tried calling them on the phone multiple times no one answered and there was no way to contact them online either . However when I arrived to pick up my order , I told them and they said they made it " No spice" I said I want it medium Spicey and I believe the manager immediately told me " no problem "! He brought another box with medium Spicey chicken tenders within 2 minutes . So cudos to the manager or whoever the nice fellow was that fixed the problem immediately, without any argument. THANK YOU !! I would suggest that there will be an option to specify spiciness level and not allow to send the order until one makes a choice so this issue won't repeat . EXCELLENT JOB!!!

Oh well. Third time was NOT the charm. If you saw my previous review of Dave's, you know I had a…read morebit of a love affair going on with this place. So, love woke me up today, and I decided that, despite changing my eating habits prior to my summer beach trip... I had to go to Dave's. Beach be damned. I needed Dave's. I mean, if you're going to break your diet, this is the only place to do it. I decided to go off script and try something different. Those little chicken bites looked appetizing and the new giant mozzarella stick was interesting. I ordered the chicken bites with the hot honey sauce... And one mozzarella thing with the very spicy sauce/flavor... The first thing that rubbed me the wrong way was that, right as I was starting to pay, the cashier decided to hit me with a 30 second diatribe about the tip button on the POS system. I just read an article about how tipping has gotten out of control in America. We used to tip for exceptional service. Now we tip because we breathe. I always overtip for exceptional service. Believe it or not, I am hypersensitive about being an African-American and how the entire race might be viewed if I don't tip well. So I tip well. But I don't like having to tip for a fast food meal. It's the same thing at Starbucks. If I pay $10 for a cup of coffee, I shouldn't have to pay another two dollars to the person who just happened to take my order. Let's be real, they don't even take our credit cards and swipe them anymore. We are doing all the work at the counter, so why tip them. When the guy at the counter told me that there was a tip option, and then explained in detail who the tip went to at Dave's.... I felt like I was being forced to throw extra money on what was already a $21 meal. I bought what amounted to some chicken nuggets, with a handful of fries, and a giant mozzarella stick. And a Coke. It was almost $22. That same meal would've cost 11 not too long ago. And now, you're trying to guilt me into adding a tip of 20%. That would take the bill up to $26 for some fricking chicken nuggets. Insane. So, I only gave a dollar as a tip, which only seemed to irritate the cashier. Now, on to the food. In my previous two trips, the chicken seemed premium. It was great quality, and the meals were wonderful. Today, those chicken nuggets seemed like second rate chicken. I had to spit one of them out because inside was fatty. The rest of them were stringy. I was five nuggets in before I found one that actually had the type of consistency that I would expect from eating chicken. It was pretty gross. My fries were not hot. I was honestly sitting there, wondering if they served me tepid fries because I did not tip big. The mozzarella stick was delicious though. I am admitting that I will go back just for that in the future. And the drinks are always good. They have the perfect ratio of syrup to carbonation. So, to sum it up. I got accosted by the tip police for a take out meal...the meal itself looked great when they handed it to me, but it was bad in two of three areas....bad chicken consistency and fries that died in the window. Thank goodness this was my third trip, so I will try them again. I just won't be getting those second rate chicken bites. And next time I'm not tipping a penny. Come on, Dave.
