I've never really had a major order issue here... maybe once where I didn't get a patty when I ordered a double, but I did get a refund so that's immaterial and rare. But the burgers are usually just how I expect it, not burnt, and always great. One thing I'd love to point out is that they seem to have (finally) changed the fry container from a coffee insulated cup which makes fries soggy to a normal paper bag type container. We've been coming here for a few years. Occasionally we have an excellent burger elsewhere, but either we can never remember where that was, or it might have been someplace too far away for a last-minute burger craving. So, this Five Guys has become our go-to. Online ordering is a great feature, especially for takeout during these pandemic times. And while takeout means no sitting around eating free peanuts, they're not providing peanuts during pandemic times anyway. Maybe the pandemic is also reducing the number of customers choosing to eat onsite and that might explain why with only two parties occupying tables the music sounded extra loud when I entered. But at least the floors were clean and void of peanut shells. Our burgers looked fantastic as I watched them being wrapped. But the twelve-minute drive home took its toll on the bottom of the buns - super soggy. It's the first time I've been unable to pick up a burger in my hands, even if I cut it in half. Maybe I bear some responsibility for including toppings like grilled onions, grilled peppers, and steak sauce, but even the always delicious French fries were no longer crispy on the outside, having gone limp during the drive home. So I ordered a big order yesterday. I ordered it online which is relatively easy except for my friends kept asking for things they don't have. Can I have swiss cheese - no they don't have swiss cheese it's just American. They offer a lot of options but only one cheese. I'm okay with that I only like American cheese on my burgers. So I got their orders in which were cheeseburgers with bunch of stuff on them. My hamburger was just supposed to be a little cheeseburger it was not. I don't really like their hamburgers because they don't make them rare and I understand why; they don't want people to get sick and die - fair enough. But when you put two burgers on top of their bread it makes it even more gloppy and doughy and gooey and gross. So it was $8 that I had to throw away cuz I didn't like it. I couldn't even give a couple pieces of the Burger to my dog because there was cheese all over it. A lot of cheese. Not what I ordered. Just because you put an extra Burger on a order so it seems like it's the same it's not a little cheeseburger is a bun cheese one burger and the rest of the Buns when you put two Burgers and More cheese on it it's just gross. It's not better I didn't get a deal I had to throw it away. To be fair at I know I've never been fond of their cheeseburgers but I know I will never get them again. My friend love their cheeseburgers. I also got hot dogs they make the best hot dogs. They cut them in half lengthwise. They Grill them awesomely, they put yummy cheese on them I wish they didn't squish them when they wrap them up in the aluminum foil though. It squishes the bread. But the hot dogs are awesome. So I'm never getting a hamburger for myself again at Five Guys I think the hot dogs are awesome. I don't like their hamburgers. The french fries were good. I got two different kinds everybody was happy. I got a milkshake one vanilla and chocolate and we all had some. My one friend poured some vanilla in a glass cup and then put a little bit of chocolate on top of that and she had like this two layer yummy mixed milkshake. It didn't mix together it was still separate but she still had two separate milkshakes on top of each other was kind of interesting. They gave us lots of ketchup cuz we have no ketchup in the house. They didn't forget anything. It's just I don't like their cheeseburgers and they screwed my order up. So I'm kind of frustrated. That being said for some reason all my orders get screwed up almost everywhere I go and I'm cursed. So five guys employees have always been very nice and helpful when I've gone in. My roommate picked up the food this time.. It's always nice and clean. Everybody was happy with their order except me except for the hot dog for hot dogs are slamming. It's not even worth it for me to make a hot dog I just go over there and get a hot dog when I want one. I don't have to go out and buy nine buns and six hot dogs I don't have to try and cook them and not have them turn out good - I just go over there and get the hot dog. I went in to order a burger and the person who started cooking it. Was grabbing onto his pants, his cap, his mask. It was as if he was doing all this on purpose. I watched him put his gloved hands that had been all over his clothes, mask and cap. Pick up the germ covered patty and place it on the grill. For me, this is about as good as you can get for a burger. This is where value and taste intersect. Sure, you can buy a cheaper burger for $1, and you can buy an over-the-top steak burger that costs $25. But this place is the best value in my opinion. The burgers are delicious and come with as many great toppings as you want. (Don't get the "regular" or double burger unless you really have an appetite). The fries are gigantic and it is advised to order the smallest available size unless you are sharing. Even still, we bring home the leftovers and use them in other dishes (like home fries) through the week. And, they have free peanuts. I love peanuts. With the rise of other gourmet burger chains around, I still come back to here. Summary- I hate to downgrade FG because they make my favorite burger in Clifton Park, but they keep messing up toppings on my burgers. The comped meal again had a burger missing a topping, which is both comical and sad. Food- 5 Stars These are great cheeseburgers, period. It's nice you can pick what you want on them too down to nothing or up to a ridiculous amount of toppings. Fries are also outstanding. I know some of you local peoples won't understand the hand cut thick fry in peanut oil thing. Instructions for F.G. Fries w/ Malt Vinegar- Buy a regular fry, large or small. Split them so around half is in the bag and the other half in the cup in case you really can't stand the M.V. Next, open that there bottle up and hose the the fries in the cup with Malt. The tops should just get some and there will end up being a little puddle when you get to the bottom. Go slow, they can be intense when loaded with M.V. Like I said before it is an acquired taste but peanut oil fried hand cut potatoes with M.V. are truly a thing of beauty to be worshiped. Service- 3 Stars The reason for the less than 5 Stars, noted above with missing toppings. Generally very nice and everything. Drinks- 5 Stars Super machine that can make you almost any soda. The "Little" size ($2.09) is just right as a single serving for me. If there was any validation to the phrase "Like a moth to a deep fryer," I'd be that moth. Now as for the burgers... no preservatives - check; fresh made - check; big beefy taste... well, 2 out of 3. I typically order my burgers with toppings (like lettuce, tomato, etc), but not condiments or sauteed items, because I want the flavor of the beef to speak for itself. Do you know what it said to me? "Hi, I'm bland." It was as if it were channeling Jo Anne Worley's catch phrase from "Laugh-In" from the 60s (Google it). The pickles had a stronger presence. Plus, since the burgers tend to be well done, they are a little dry, which is why I guess condiments and sauteed vegetables exist. Stopped in here on our way home from Vermont and we were craving a really good burger. Five Guys in my opinion has one of the best quality burgers and you can taste it. I like that they offer you peanuts to snack on while your order is prepared. I always end up getting a bacon cheese burger with Cajun fries and its always fresh and delicious. After living in DC for a year, I can't really settle for any for any other fast food cheeseburger in Clifton Park besides the ones from Five Guys. They're simple, but delicious. I try to go whenever I'm back in the area. The best part is the fries though. They fill up the cup once, dump it in the bag, and then fill the cup up again. I'll usually split a regular fry with a friend and it is enough for both of us (but I don't eat much). I tried their cajun fries last time I went, and those were pretty decent too. I liked them. I tried the bacon all the way. It is fresh! It's pilled higher than your standard burger, but then again the bun is a little smaller and the burger molded higher :). The taste was not that spectacular. The onions were good.The price for the burger however was a little too high. I will also echo a previous reviewer in that i could feel my digestive system working it through quick(sliders). The french fries were OUTSTANDING! They were well worth the price. The burger and fries were served pretty quick. The staff was politely attentive and courteous. I do like good quality burgers, but at &7.89+$2.39 for the fries, I'll be cooking it at home.
