This was our first time visiting this cafe and it was one of the less friendly ones we've been to. We were out shopping in Clifton park and hungry so we stopped in for lunch and half the items we wanted to order were not available. We opted to try two new sandwiches since none of our regulars were available. Both were prepared without any care. They were very sloppily thrown together, I had to reassemble them to take the picture because half the contents were falling out. The Frontega sandwich had very little sauce in it and they don't give you any on the side when you ask for more. Of the two sandwiches the spicy fiesta tasted better so we might give it another try at a different cafe. I also ordered the pomegranate hibiscus tea for my sip club drink and it had zero flavor. To quote my husband "it tastes like extremely watered down cough medicine". I ended up dumping it and refilling with lemonade and passion papaya ice green tea mixed together instead. The green tea cuts the tartness of the lemonade and makes for a great concoction when combined. I've been a long time Panera fan but don't visit as often anymore because of how pricey it has become. I won't let the visit at this cafe detour me from visiting other cafes though. I'm used to Panera staff being extremely friendly and happy to make sure your meal is satisfactory but that was not the case at this location unfortunately. read more

I placed my order and paid for it, decided against the cesar salad and went with the potato soup. The manager came out refunded my payment for the salad and I in turn paid for the soup. Was asked my name to go with the order I told her. I sat and watched people come grab there food and go for about 20 minutes. I'm sitting on the bench right near where the food is passed out no assistance or questions asked from the staff. I go back to the counter and asked if my order had been placed. People at home are sick and you need soup....what's your go to option? Panera bread!! Literally over the last week or 2, I tried 4 different soups and each of them were yummy. If you have no prefernce and like the tomato soup or chicken soup with wild rice, I would recommend the value meal as they come with a salad or sandwich and in 2022, they only cost you $6.99. (It was $5.99 in either 2021 or 2020 when they launched it at a few locations). I would definitely recommend panera instead of other fast food chains. I couldn't believe it when I took my plate of the you pick two and the broccoli mac and cheese had hardly any noodles. There was a thick skin on top like it had been sitting out for a while, even though my food was ready a minute or two after ordering. I ordered delivery from this location as I normally do but for some reason this experience was the worst of them all. I'm used to waiting a little bit longer than normal as I know this location is always busy - no matter the time of day. However, yesterday I waited OVER 90 minutes for my delivery of a measly two sandwiches a small Mac & cheese a bagel and an iced coffee. When my driver arrived he didn't even say anything in regards to why it took so long or even offering up an apology - NOTHING. By the time my food arrived my first instinct was to check the Mac and cheese to see if it was even still warm - not hot but warm, and no it wasn't even warm. My bread was stale and the ice in my iced coffee was completely melted. I then called the store number which because of "technical difficulties" I was directed to their customer care, not even getting to speak to someone at this specific location and waited on hold for thirty minutes to express my concerns. This Panera location has always been a favorite of ours since it is a stopover on our many commutes to our summer home. Previously it was always excellent and immaculately clean. We just stopped again after a long while of not visiting and found the store had been renovated which was nicely done however the store and parking lot were very dirty. With me just having my hip replaced and my wife not feeling well we wanted to try someplace different that delivers. I went online and found Panera's which sounded good. You can order, pay and it's delivered to your house. I have to say it was the best online website I've seen. We made our order and received a confirmation email..... within 30 minutes the delivery girl was at our door with the order. A text came in when she left the store and again when she was in our driveway. I couldn't ask for any better service, and the food was 100% correct. Like most of the other Panera locations in this area this location is pretty beat down. It gets a ton of traffic everyday and it definitely shows. Of course, because of the high traffic they screw up your order every now and then, which has happened to me at least once or twice... it is what it is man, it's Panera. Don't expect them to figure out a new way to split the atom or something. Wi-Fi is good, but the seating is beat up and the carpets are in bad shape. However, it's warm in the winter so that's cool. Ordered delivery. Should have read the reviews first. Took an hour and 15 minutes to get my dinner. I'm staying less than two miles away. When I received my order, there were no utensils. I ordered soup and salad. When I called, the manager asked me what I wanted her to do about it and immediately told me I wouldn't get a refund for not getting utensils. I didn't even think about a refund. I wanted utensils. She told me that she's short staffed and can't have a driver bring me utensils. So again, what would I like her to do about it. This location is very nice, I just don't really care for Panera itself. My wife likes Panera, so I go their with her from time to time. Their meals are not that big for quite a bit of money (relatively speaking). On my recent visit, I got their "You Pick 2" (combo meal) and I got macaroni and cheese and a greek chicken salad. The macaroni and cheese was small in size and the greek chicken salad was not that big either and paid roughly $10 for them both. Now that might not seem like a bad deal, but I can go to other restaurants in the area and pay less for more food. And not to mention, their portions don't really fill me up either. Do NOT order delivery from this Panera. It does not get delivered in the timeframe they give you, and when the food arrives there is always at least one thing wrong in the order. Do not try to call the store, they always have a message up saying they are having technical difficulties and to call the Customer Care Line from Panera. I had to ask for a second spoon for my soup. I wasn't going to eat with a dirty spoon. They gave me an even dirtier one with something CAKED on it. When I got visibly angry, the waiter trotted into the back and brought back a clean spoon. The soup was excellent, the bread was to die for, the grilled cheese sandwich was marginal. So I ordered a napa almond chicken salad sandwich on Saturday September 14 at 6:30 pm.. It was supposed to be my dinner. I got to it at 8:00 pm. I was eating half of it and noticed that it was absolutely very dry. I finished the half pushing it down with water. I looked at the other half and opened it. I couldn't believe that there was perhaps a teaspoon of chicken salad in it. NO WONDER THE SANDWICH WAS DRY!!!! I immediately called the manager or one of them. His name was Rick. I told him about my sandwich and he told me that the servers are supposed to put one scoop of chicken salad in each sandwich. Sure I understand that is the standard portion but I purchased a bowl of vegetable soup at $6.19 and the sandwich at $8.39. It's gotten to the point where I NEED to leave a review. The quality has gone downhill very quickly within the past two years, the Clifton Park Panera is extremely close to my house so it used to be a weekly place where the family and I would go eat. After the past year the service and quality has crumbled, a busy location like Clifton Park needs a strong staff. From what I see they're lacking proper management, seems like they're under staffed because there is always a line of anxious foot tapping clients waiting for their meals. The curbside option isn't a service that the Clifton Park store does, I've once waited a whole 45 minutes in my car waiting for my meal to be brought out, after calling the location and asking where my food has been they told me that I would need to come back inside and reorder my food since they forgot to bring it out and it got cold. Even today I witnessed a woman with the same issue, she was waiting in her vehicle for them to bring the food out and she ended up getting so frustrated that she came storming in to the location just to find her breakfast to be sitting on the counter cold. I love Panera even their microwaved mac and cheese but this has really gotten to the point where I need to say something. I cant keep wasting my precious time waiting on their poor service, I hope this review helps save someones peace and time, because this really isn't the location to dine at. TLDR: The food takes forever for them to prep that its already cold by the time it reaches your hands. Couldn't be more upset with my experience . So today I went to the clifton park location. To start when I walked in I almost slipped on an apple peel . Next I was extremely disapointed to find out my favorite chipotle chicken panini had been discontinued. I ordered the steak and white chedder panini and a small Mac and cheese which was 15$ only to wait about 20 minutes for my food. When I finally returned home. I opened my sanwhich and their was basically no meat on it . The mac and cheese wasn't even warm any more. We order from here often, today we had the worst experience. New employee called about being out of what sounded like Brioche, we had him repeat multiple times because he was not making sense/difficult to understand. We asked for a different bread for our breakfast sandwiches if out of brioche. Our order was two sandwiches and two soufflés. Our order came and we had four sandwiches, no soufflés. One sandwich was made incorrectly and all of them were cold (not to mention a 40minute wait when located only 7minutes away max) One of the women called and spoke with management. They said it was a new employee who didn't know the menu well and they were out of soufflés. They did offer to send us two new sandwiches. It has been 51 minutes, almost lunch time at this point and the women still haven't received their breakfast sandwiches. If there is an error and an employee has to call and is a new employee there should be someone next to him/her guiding them and making sure what they are saying is accurate to ensure no miscommunications or misunderstandings occur. Our receipt had everything checked off as being "checked to ensure accuracy", if that were the case the one sandwich would not have been incorrectly made. Training needs to be amped up because this is unacceptable. Management should be making calls, not new staff.
