the tiny piece of lettuce on the bun on the left. you have to maximize the picture.

This review is for Five Guys @ 3839 Emery Street in Emeryille, CA. I ordered through GrubHub for delivery on June 19. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, a bacon cheese dog, and regular size fries. The cheese dog was disappointing where the bacon was burnt and the lettuce was one small section of one leaf. The hotdog itself was delicious. The bun wasn't toasted, but it was warm. The grilled cheese sandwich was okay. But again the lettuce portion was very small like the bacon cheese dog. The fries were delicious. They are cooked skin on. You get a lot of them. Both items were smaller than expected. On the website they look bigger. They give you a lot of fries, more than expected. I give this store a 3/5.

I love 5 guys.... I'm not sure what this is. I've never tasted.... Nothing? The burger has no flavor at all. Meat isn't salted or anything. My fries were drenched In salt. After 25 dollars you'd think you could enjoy a piece of your meal. Won't be back to this location.

Cheeseburger all the way, with a Regular Fries! Big portions and so delicious

I was so happy a location finally opened in Emeryville! The worker Danny was so nice and friendly, he gave us warm greetings, was super helpful and kind. The burger patties were cooked to perfection, so juicy! And the fries, wow so fresh and crispy! Love this place, I can't wait to go back. It's a tiny location but it also had outdoor seating. I have been to many 5 guys but all are too out of the way, I can't say how grateful I am this one opened !

Ghost Town represents. Great staff, cool manager, and good burger made with good meat.

As a local, I've grown up walking 5 minutes to this spot my whole life for over 25 years. I can say…read morethat it is the best authentic vietnamese banh mi in the east bay as I've tried many other spots that haven't particularly matched or exceeded their level of quality. I usually order a #2, #7, and #13. It's very affordable, especially if you're on a strict budget for lunch. $7 sandwiches? I mean it's a pretty good deal. #2 Banh Mi Dac Biet/Special Combo Ham Sandwich - If you're looking for a cold italian sandwich but want to explore new options this is a vietnamese version that also has pate butter taking it to the next level. #7 Banh Mi Xiu Mai/Meat Ball & Egg Sandwich - An elevated version of the #3 with an added egg. This was my absolute favorite as a child and still is now. Nice balance of sweet and salty. The meat is tender and with the added egg yolk that pops when you take a bite takes it the next level. I think this is also slept on since I don't see many people ordering it. #13 Banh Mi Xa Xiu/BBQ Pork Sandwich - This is their secret weapon. My god the sweetness from the bbq pork with the pate butter is incredible. I always look forward to eating the bottom end of the sandwich because that's where most of the flavor and butter are hiding. The pickled veggies help give it the acidity it needs for a well balanced bite. By far my favorite. They also have many other options besides banh mi that make and sell on the day of like Banh Cuon, Che, Egg rolls, etc. Definitely give those a try especially the Mochi Ham sandwich aka Banh Day they got there too. I always have a hard time choosing between the #7 & # 13 so I always end up getting both. Service is straight forward, you line up, order, and wait for them to call you up for your order. Simple. You don't have to ask me twice if I want to grab some banh mi here. But do be aware that at certain hours of the day it can get very busy and crowded. Either to super early when opening or closer to closing about an hour before. For new comers, I highly recommend starting off with #7 or #13 for your introduction to their banh mi for a better first time experience.

I rotate through the meatball (loose, juicy and very flavorful compared to western meatballs), lemongrass pork, grilled pork, BBQ pork, and BBQ chicken sandwiches--all of these are great. As of May 2026, most sandwiches come to $7 after tip, which is an unbeatable deal for the Bay Area. Parking sucks and the neighborhood is super sketchy, I do feel for the businesses of this area. Only open Fri/Sat/Sun, unfortunately. Pro tip: get an egg roll ($1) to eat while you wait for your bahn mi to be made. And be forewarned: your car will stink to high hell for a few hours after transporting your sandwiches home. It just means that your bahn mi are legit!

The vibe is great, and the food definitely delivers on flavor. We tried quite a bit--the first Friday taco, chicken sandwiches, Mexican hot dog, and asada tacos--and everything was honestly amazing. It was so good that we came back the next day before leaving town just to have it again. Service was about an 8/10. The only reason I didn't rate it higher was due to one moment that didn't sit right with me. I watched a waitress bring out fries to a guest, the guest started eating them, and then she came back to say it was a mistake and took them away after he was already halfway through. That just didn't feel very service-oriented. In a situation like that, it would have been better to acknowledge the mistake and let the guest keep the fries on the house. Taking back half-eaten food felt like poor judgment. That said, the overall experience was still very positive. Great atmosphere, great flavors, and definitely a spot I'd recommend checking out if you're in the area.

Jollibee is something different in a market saturated with Asian food of all kinds. Mind you, the Asian food in the Bay is the best, but sometimes something different is in order. Jollibee has a tasty looking menu with fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, burgers, spaghetti, noodles and more. I thought the chicken was good and far better than some other local offerings. The spaghetti for me would take a little getting used to. Having grown up with an Italian family, the Jollybee spaghetti is definitely not the norm with Italian cooking, but is much more common in Filipino circles. To me it's Ketchupy. Still it adds to the interest of having something different. I should say my kids do like it. Yeah, I'd definitely eat Jollibee again. I've heard the Adobo rice us really good. That was also very good overall of course I would come back here again and give them plenty of my money and exchange for this delicious food.

Place seemed clean and suitable for a quick bite, very much a fast food joint. Like fast food, the wait was less than ten minutes for a spicy chicken tender and medium spicy medium size loaded fries with chicken chunks. The spicy chicken tender was moist, tender, and the texture was even and had some chew and slight crunch. It was a decent size, but it wouldn't fill me up by itself. My nephew had asked for some spicy chicken, to have a little kick to it. But he said that the "Spicy" level chicken "felt like a kick to the groin". The medium chicken was also tasty, and I preferred it over the spicy one. These were a bit smaller, like the width of two nickels side by side. What really struck me as off were the fries themselves. They were salty, and they had sliced pickles and a dash of cheese and sauce--but they were practically naked. What the hell were they doing back there? Is it that hard to sprinkle more than a pinch of cheese, more than a drop of sauce? For the meal, $21 was expensive, and seemingly not worth it. Three stars.

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. They got the steak fries right, but instead of steak burritos we received two chicken burritos. We called to let them know the order was incorrect and the guy who answered insisted that we ordered chicken. We most definitely didn't. He said he would replace them and he asked that we bring the chicken burritos back. This was already an inconvenience because we live 15 minutes away, so gas was wasted getting all the way over there and back. When they were picked up, instead of owning up to his mistake, the guy still insisted that we ordered chicken. Again, we did not. While we finally had what we ordered, the steak burritos were smaller and barely had any meat in them, while the incorrect order were chock full of chicken. So, needless to say, we will not be back.
