Fruity Pebbles Shake, Fries and a Coke
    Jacob R.

Made an early morning stop to get Hyphy on some burgers! We were greeted by Sharon. She was very friendly and made sure you understood the menu and different types of burgers they offer. We ordered the hyphy and burnout burger with the fruity pebbles shake, if you're in the area stop in

    Steve K.

The burnout burger was good and the fries were well seasoned. I also added pastrami to my burger. The high c pink lemonade was okay. I've come to the conclusion that, I am not a smashed burger person. I will say that I'd eat the burnout burger again.

Was able to try Hypy Burger, and even though I didn't get a chance to try the burgers, everything else I had was delicious in my opinion! I tried the Oreo and Fruity Pebbles shakes, and both were really good. Service was also great! Shoutout to Nathalie for taking care of us. She made us a fresh milkshake after the first one had melted, and she even gave us another shake to try because nobody had picked it up. Really appreciated the great service! Overall, this is a good spot for anyone who enjoys smash burgers and shakes. They also have plenty of seating inside and a small parking area. Definitely worth checking out!

Burn Out w/added lettuce and tomatoes and sauce added

We ordered through DoorDash and I honestly thought Hyphy Burgers was going to be overhyped lol. I ordered the Burnout combo with added lettuce and tomatoes (extra charge) and upgraded to loaded fries and a cookies and cream shake. Because I ordered through delivery, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much compared to if I were to eat it fresh. However, the burger was so flavorful even when it wasn't hot/warm. The burger was juicy and full of flavor. The loaded fries had a generous amount of toppings and there was a little sweet and sour flavor going on, which I liked. I'd like to come dine in next time and enjoy the full experience!

I been meaning to try Hyphy Burger especially seeing all the hype on Instagram! I was super excited trying it as I went to the last Black Joy Parade but I was not able to as I was trying out the Black Owned vendors during the event. But today after attending an event nearby that was mainly alcohol, I made the 20 minute walk from 19th BART Station and had the opportunity to! It was a journey l during the day and did pass an overpass and some abandoned vehicles but making it was the goal! I saw the loud and colorful exterior and it welcomed me like watching Good Burger back in the day. I was rished with nostalgia and was thoroughly satisfied and impressed by the delicous sauce similar to thousand island dressing and the well seasoned fries! The burger was superb and made my trip for the hyohy burger well worth! I highly recommend. I don't know any friends that have tried this spot yet but highly recommend them to try!

Hyphy Burger is what a smash burger should be. Taking a simple concept complemented by great sauce and fresh ingredients is a win. I highly recommend checking this place out and maybe get one of their cereal themed milk shakes. I'm from the L.A area but will for sure check this place out when I'm back in the Bay Area.

Located in West Oakland is this little gem! My husband and I always pass by and finally stopped in. We just wanted to share a meal so we got the burnout meal and the digital check out had an option to cut the burger in half which made life easier! Service was quick and inside is blasted with brand all over. We grabbed our meal to go ! There was tons of parking too. The shake was hella good! The burgers are smash burger style. Came with jalapeños and banana peppers sauce and cheese. I would def come back! It's worth it!

Was really excited to finally try Hyphy Burger as it's promos have been all over my social media over the past year and word of mouth seemed to validate it as being a legit competitor in the burger wars in the Bay Area. First things first: the vibe here is obviously the big draw, invoking such a strong sense of Oakland that is unmistakable, from the colorful building basically screaming for your attention as you drive by to the decked out school bus constantly driving around downtown blaring Bay Area hits. The interior, even during down hours is always bopping with an energy from staff that you don't often see which is infectious for anyone lucky enough to walk in. One downside was that they did take their sweet time despite only one other group was inside waiting for their food - something to think about if you were in a rush although it could have been just a one off considering we ordered burgers, fries, and mini donuts. We were so hungry that I didn't even get to take a photo of our food after we got home and basically devoured it all on the spot. The burger was solid - nicely charred with a pretty good sauce that paired well with the crispy fries. Would I say it is the top smash burger joint I've been to in the Bay? Probably not but one of the better ones for sure. Surprisingly the thing that stood out the most for me was the mini donettes that my partner picked out. I'm guessing this was what kept our order up a little longer than we hoped because they were hot as if straight from the fryer and dusted generously with the different toppings and glazes which you can choose an assortment of for your box. They had a great balance of crunch, fluffiness, and sweetness that rivals many donut shops. Overall a great addition to the Oakland food scene that everyone should give a chance to.

Cheeseburger was the best I've had in a while. Sheeesh. The meat, the bun, sauce and grilled onions were all on point. The fries were fresh & crispy. I left very full and happy.

Simple menu but amazing burgers, fries and shakes! My go to is the hyphy burger with lettuce and tomato. The fries are solid and the Oreo shake is a must! Service is fast and staff are friendly. Place is clean and well lit.

We went to try the fruity pebbles milkshake and ended up getting that one and the cocoa pebbles. They were both delicious. The wait was fast. The service was good. You order at a kiosk but the workers were nice. The ambiance was pretty rough. Lots of tough looking people. A drug deal was happening in the parking lot but they actually were nice! Haha. They were so glad that we reminded them of the milk shake on top of their car. I think it's worth going to but definitely during the day.

Hyphy Burger lives up to the name. Straight Bay Area energy from the moment you pull up. The burgers are juicy, flavorful, and hit that perfect greasy in a good way balance. Fries are solid too, and everything comes out fast. Had me feeling like "tell me when to go" the second I got my food. If you know, you know. This spot delivers that hyphy flavor with Oakland vibes.

Hyphy burger combo w/ Reese's puff shake.

The Hyphy burger was delicious and the fries nice and crispy. Also tried the mini donuts and Reese's Puff shake; both were okay but probably not something I would order again. Servers were friendly and the seating area was pretty clean overall.

I love that you can choose the doneness of the patty. I went with medium, and it came out perfectly cooked. The bun was soft, buttery, and rich without feeling too greasy, and every ingredient seemed intentional and added something distinct to the burger. It is a very large burger, though, so be prepared for it to get a little messy. There is a restroom where you can wash your hands, but it requires a key, so bringing hand sanitizer or wet wipes may be helpful. Overall, the burgers are definitely on the pricier side, but I thought the quality justified it. I'd happily come back again.

I've always enjoyed A+ Burger. The turkey burger is delicious, which is why this experience was so…read moredisappointing. I order my turkey burger wrapped in lettuce because I don't eat bread. What I don't understand is why I'm charged an additional $2.50 for the lettuce wrap when I'm not even getting the bun. If you're taking something away, what's the justification for adding an extra charge? I could understand a modest upcharge, but $2.50 for a few leaves of lettuce is hard to justify. I can buy an entire head of lettuce for about that price. What bothered me even more was that no one mentioned the charge when I placed my order. It wasn't until I picked up my food and saw the receipt that I realized I had been charged extra. Customers deserve to know about additional charges before they order, not after the fact. When I politely asked why there was a $2.50 charge, the employee simply looked at me and said, "I don't know." There was no explanation, no offer to ask someone else, and no attempt to address a perfectly reasonable question. That level of customer service was just as disappointing as the surprise charge. The burger was excellent, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. At this point, I don't plan on coming back. Or maybe I'll just bring my own lettuce next time. Better yet, just give me the burger without the bun, and I'll wrap the damn thing myself when I get home.

Since moving to the neighborhood earlier this year, I have walked past TrueBurger quite a few times on my way to/from the 19th Street BART Station, and I was excited to give it a try. I was initially thinking I would get a burger, but my friend had to postpone getting together until the mid-afternoon, so I ate lunch at home and opted for a milkshake when we met a couple hours later. I had seen a special coconut shake on the menu on the TrueBurger website; I'm a big fan of most things coconut, and especially ice cream. I was eager to taste the shake...and my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I realized it was just a vanilla shake with shredded coconut. Why is TrueBurger trying to pass this off as a coconut shake? It's far less novel, but it's perfectly acceptable to only offer vanilla and chocolate shakes. The mix-ins actually put them one step ahead of much of the competition, but misleading customers is never okay. To add insult to injury, I have tried reaching out to TrueBurger via email, and management is incredibly unresponsive. They could have easily fixed this by offering me a refund or asking me to come back in for a shake on the house. Do better, TrueBurger.

While the food was pretty solid, the extremely long wait and the packed seats are what makes my rating go down. Lovely's is a very popular spot, even for a weekday dinner. The vibes are immaculate. It offers both indoor and outdoor seats, very spacious. However, because of the amount of people, the wait in line was a bit more than 30 minutes. Then adds another wait to get the food. On top of all the waiting, seating options become limited and you will most likely be stuck with the outdoor tables, which can be unfortunate on a very cold evening. If you're hungry, don't come here. But if you don't mind the wait, this is definitely a great spot with great company.

First of all, my order was TO-GO. And let me tell you... when I got home and opened that bag, I was honestly blown away. Candalen--YOU DID THAT. The attention to detail on my plate did not go unnoticed. You treated my food like it was being served in-house, and that speaks volumes about your work ethic and pride in what you do. Aaron--listen... that peach lemon drop??? BABY. That was my first time trying one and it was EVERYTHING. Smooth, flavorful, perfectly balanced--you made that drink an experience all by itself. I will be back JUST for that. I come for their brisket and my friend loves ribs so we went ahead and ordered combo plates to share. Mine was the brisket with a side of collard greens, she had the pork ribs, a hotlink with a side of Mac-n-cheese, & cornbread. For drinks we had lemonade and an Arnold Palmer. I'm not sure what has happened over the last few months but the quality of the food, the service and the expectation to pay and tip up front were very disappointing. The greens, Mac cheese, brisket and ribs were cold. The hotlink wasn't BBQ'ed it was pan fried. Everything tasted like warmed up leftovers and we will not return. For 2 of us to eat it came to $100 and we were not satisfied. The dining room is an attractive space, it was completely empty. The staff was unclear about what we ordered, had to be told to bring our drinks, bartender is also working as server and apologized for his uncertainty. I suggest this restaurant hire and train more staff if they intend to keep their doors open.
