First of all, I've been going to Five Guys for 30 years (my office was three blocks away from the first store in Alexandria, Virginia and my condo about a half-mile from the second store. From my first visit in the 1990's, I recognized that the founders were obsessed with quality--no three page menu, but just great flavor and wonderful textures. When I passed by the new Five Guys in Miami on Dixie Hwy, I just had to go in. My Verdict? The burgers were just slightly not as good as I remembered (nostalgia, maybe?) but the fries were even better than in the past. I don't know exactly how they do it, but they have a delight crispness to them and less grease. The slight expansion of the menu to include milk shakes, and two other sandwiches (can't wait to try them) hasn't hurt the quality at all. BTW: If you look at the bottom of the door, there is an informational sticker warning people who are allergic to peanuts, that they use peanut oils and give out peanuts while you wait for your food. About 15 years ago I went with my cousin to a store at Ocean City, NJ and expected to see the barrels of peanuts and shells all over the floor and I asked the manager, "Hey! How come no peanuts?" He told me, "There are two children in the neighborhood who are allergic to peanuts and rather than not serve them, we decided that we wouldn't have peanut here." The fries there were excellent [even without the peanut oil] and what does that tell you about the integrity and values of the guys who started this company? And, from what I saw and tasted, they are still the best burger and fries in the country. read more

I recently stopped back here for the first time since posting my initial review, and I placed the same order I did back then - A burger with two patties "all the way" with a small order of fries and regular drink. When I got home about 10 minutes later, I found that everything in the bag was soggy. While I wasn't really bothered by the fries as it's relatively common for takeout fries to wilt, in this case the burger was soggy as well, which was disappointing. The big shocker was the price. The last time I reviewed this Five Guys location, I mentioned I'd paid less than $10 for my order. While I realize some years have passed, beef prices have risen, etc., on this visit for the same items, I paid upwards of $20 including tax. Five Guys has lots of competition from other burger joints in this general area - Shake Shack, Lokal, Capital Burger and even spots like John Martin's, Yard House, Tap42 and Greenstreet which offer burgers that are as good and sometimes better than what one gets here at Five Guys, and those restaurants offer different variations and other food and beverage options. If I'm in the area, in a hurry and in the mood for a fast food burger and fries I may stop back here - Otherwise, considering the current pricepoint, I'll likely go elsewhere. read more

A decent enough burger. I tried theIr regular hamburger. You have to eat it straight away as there is a lot of liquid that comes from the mushrooms I think. Therefore to avoid your bun getting soggy, eat immediately. Service was fast and friendly. Burger was great, the service was a long wait but food was good when it finally came out.

I have only been once to Five Guys when I was in college, and decided to give it another try this past weekend. Since there are several locations across Miami the closest to our job is the Dixie highway spot. The menu is very limited because their focus here is primarily the gourmet burgers and the french fries made from scratch. We ordered two junior cheeseburgers with lettuce, diced onions, ketchup, and mustard, on a toasted sesame seed bun. Regarding the french fries we ordered the large which was huge, it was pretty much a brown bag full of french fries!! I am glad that we ordered the junior burger because we would of been towed out of the restaurant with the abundance of french fries that were ordered. The quality of both burgers and fries were on par from what you expect from these gourmet burger joints, the burger was well cooked and the right condiments were added, while the fries were very greasy but very tasty and the right amount of salt. For desert we also ordered the chocolate shake which were the perfect companion and ending to our meal, very smooth and not too sweet. Haven't been to five guys in about a year. So you can say today was a spontaneous trip. I have yet to be let down by five guys when it comes to a nice quality burger. My go to is the double patty bacon cheese burger with A1 sauce. YUM YUM YUM. So yeah that's what I did today as well just to keep life consistent lol. I do usually add to my burger because why not. Green peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, cooked mushrooms.. you know only the good stuff! I get fries as well but today I didn't. I settled for the delicious complimentary peanuts they have for all customers to enjoy. My burger was cooked to perfection like always. Nice and juicy but not greasy. Bun was nice and soft, bacon perfectly crispy, and all my other toppings fresh! I did share some fries that were delightful since they were doused in home style seasoning. They do have a combination drink machine that gives you all the Coca-Cola liquid products which keeps it convenient for customers. This location doesn't seem to be well kept up. As it's dirty and and messy. Seems to have a lack of employees as I noticed the ones working were taking on multiple rolls. They should have a designated person for cleaning especially in a location as busy as this one; off the main HWY (US1). The girl at the register was very nice and helpful. They do have options for hotdogs or vegan sandwiches or bunless burgers if you're into that sort of thing. read more

Friday night and I have yet to pack my bags or the car, and get ready for our drive to the West Coast and I'm in a pinch. I decided on a spur of the moment to grab a burger here. It wasn't my first time eating Five Guys but this was probably my first time at this one, which had a parking metered parking spot that I paid a $1 using the app Pay by Phone. The familiar red and white checkers and the thought of eating spicy Cajun fries and a juicy cheeseburger lured me inside. I first walked to grab myself a free tray of peanuts and then walked to the register where a friendly attendant took my order #32 of the night. While eating my salted peanuts I noticed a steady stream of youngsters who were also craving some fast food, and peanut husks were neatly swept away by another restaurant employee. The tables are sturdy and there was plenty of seating available even though my order was togo. The wait time was a long however, taking approximately 15 minutes to serve even though the establishment had a few patrons. This is a point of improvement. Otherwise, our fully loaded burgers, one small and one regular which has 2 patties, and our Cajun fries were as expected. Delicious! read more

You can have whatever toppings you want and always get a small fry because they give you double the fries then throw a little more in there, plus they give you free peanuts while you wait. The infamous "Gables/South Miami" Five Guys has finally opened! I can only comment on takeout as we chose to pick up our food and eat it at home so that we could finally drink our large Fin Du Monde bottle along with it as they do not serve beer in house. So, with that said..... This new location was SLAMMED last night at 7PM. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our order, but its okay because we had some peanuts while we waited. (Note: Parents with children who have peanut allergies, this is NOT a place for you...peanut oil is used and peanuts are free and eeeeverywhere in the restaurant. If you choose to come, definitely bring the epi pen along =/ ). The staff was friendly, albeit a little flustered perhaps because of the masses, but all in all they did well. The location itself is decorated just as other Five Guys' are and there's seating for maybe about 40-50 people inside. Once we got home, we discovered that the wait was worth it. We shared a bacon hot dog which was butterflied and grilled perfectly, and I had half of a bacon cheeseburger because I could not finish the rest. The fries were also great. Now, the only other time I had eaten at Five Guys before was after the SoBe Food and Wine Festival and at that moment, I thought that Five Guys was the BEST BURGER EVEEEEEEER. Last night, I realized that perhaps the alcohol freely flowing through my veins is what had me saying that. The burgers here are definitely good, but not the best as it is not a fresh patty. The patty is not frozen, but its definitely not a handmade patty...that's what I am trying to say. So its tasty, but to me, it doesn't have that homemade taste which I love. Now, for $5 and change for my burger and $2 and change for the fries, this place blows fast food chain burgers out of the water! I placed an order online on the website for delivery. I did not receive one item. I called the store to request a refund they confirmed they dis not give the item but and was told I have to contact their delivery company to get a refund. I made the payment to them and they sent the driver.. there is of course no sign of my order on the delivery app. Instead of helping manager was making fun of me. I think you all are making money out of the customers you should at least show them some respect. The restaurant has both my money and my item. Door dash got their fees and i even tipped the driver. For lunch a coworker volunteered to pick up burgers for lunch. I've been meaning to go to five guys for a long time now, hearing so many good reviews about the place. Well, from this first experience take out is not the way to go. The order was placed around 12:30 and since they were busy, they said it would take an hour. I didn't get my burger until 2. The burger itself? Meh. Very messy. The two beef patties were very large and had I known I would have gotten the small with one patty. The fries were ok but I've eaten tastier fries at checkers. My meal without a drink was 7 bucks. Honestly? If I want to gorge on a cheap burger (which is what this was), the angus from mcdonalds is way tastier and neater ( I can't tolerate a sloppy burger) and for $7 I also get a soda. I will have to try this in the restaurant to give it another chance only because it's not fair to rate them solely on take out; who knows, maybe it just got soggy from the wait. Well see. Options is always a wonderful thing, it makes you feeling in control. Five Guys delivers a burger, made to order, to my liking in a reasonably short period of time, with decent service. Great burgers and fries, but I wanted to write this review because of the awesome teamwork and customer service I saw this evening. I had originally stopped at Shake Shack for a burger, but the parking was insane and the line too long. At SS, I could tell the wait would be forever because the cashier was stressed and it seemed like chaos in the kitchen. I hopped over to Five Guys and it was a different story. Almost no line and barely any wait. While I was standing there, I watched the team work together like a pit crew to get orders out - and they were friendly and smiling with each other and the customers. Five Guys have been popping up in Colorado and now in Florida! I finally got my chance to stop in and after scrounging around for a parking space, we finally made it through the door and in the order line! Me and my friend each got a little cheeseburger which was definitely more than enough. The meat was tasty and fresh as were all of the toppings! We got a regular order of fries to split in half (which is actually listed as one serving on the website) and there were fries aplenty. They tasted so fresh and paired excellently with the burger. We opted for take-out. The place is nice but a little bit in disarray and not the most comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely come here again when I find myself itching for a burger and fries. Definitely could benefit from adding some milkshakes to the menu but we can't have it all. read more

Lets get one thing out of the way right now. Five Guys is a fast food restaurant that serves burger, french fries, sugary soda and peanuts. The floors are tile which makes it easier to clean, the soda fountain has a carpet under it which is loaded with 1000 of strange bacteria that people would rather not think about and you should leave feeling full and generally shouldn't break the bank with an order for one. Five Guys gets most of the but fails so miserably on one of them that it makes me hope that a CEO reads this review. Let me firsts talk about what I like. First is the ambiance, generally clean and a classic american fast food feeling. You know the burger joints in a GTA game? Well this is that idea fully realized. Peanuts and the fries, big yes. Love how I am given an absurd amount of fries. While they are good they are not really revolutionary, but nothing wrong with playing it safe. The burgers are juicy and flavorful. I like being able to add a gross amount of toppings that other places would charge extra for. The soda machines are well maintained, so your coke will taste crisp and sweet and not watered down or nasty. Service, very good. What do I not like? The dam bill. This burger is good but I would gladly pay less if the whole restaurant wasn't decked out in positive reviews from 5 years ago. Is this wagyu beef? I dint realize these peanuts were artisan, oh they aren't? Well WTF? Dam the profit margins must be sky high for these burgers, how do they get away with this kind of robbery?
