Literally Just ate here for the first time. I'd say it's pretty close to the best burger I've ever had. Made fresh, patties aren't frozen. And I got grilled mushrooms and onions and A1 sauce with it. Definitely has a unique taste compared to other burgers. Love all the free peanuts! Although this location was a bit noisier than other Five Guy burger places I've been too. Also, the cashier forgot to hand me our drinks and the people in line in front of us too. And we had to get back into line just to get them. I admit that I am a burger snob cause I have just about eaten every type of burger from fast food, diner to gourmet in 10 states. Most of the time I just crave a juicy fast food burger. I am familiar with Five Guys in the others states and their burgers are awesome. Even the Five Guys in Point Loma is awesome but there is something different about this place. Their quality of meat changes every time I go there. I finally quit going to this location after convincing myself this place is not consistent with their meat or cooking times. Sometimes the burger taste juicy and beefy and other times just dry and bland. I think I have been spoiled by Shake Shack in NYC. They are always consistent. It is this location that is lacking quality. Heck the Five Guys in Yuma is better than this place. Definitely not going back after 10 tries. Never was a fan of In-Out but the price and consistency there made me a fan. read more

The gentleman taking orders today at 1:00pm was extremely rude. I kindly asked if they make double hamburgers, as I can't have cheese but like big meals. He replied with some serious sass, saying "hold on one minute sir." I waited as he yelled out ONE MEAT DOWN. He then returned to me with a smug "what can I get for you sir." I repeated my question, do you make double hamburgers? "we only do what's on the menu, what can I get for you sir?" I've worked as a bartender for a couple years, with several fast food restaurants on my resume, and I would never treat a guest like this. Do not order uber eats from this place. They will send your food with a tamper seal that literally seals nothing. The sides of my bags were opened so who knows if my food was tampered with. So that's $30 in the trash. Thanks a lot. read more

This was the worst hamburger I've had since the last time I went to McDonalds. The beef patty was chewy, gritty and dry. The bun ended up being a ball of starch with bits of gritty meet that I would have spit out if no-one would have noticed. The tomato slices were small and thin. Onions, instead of generous sliced rings, were just a sprinkle of diced pieces. All very flavorless. Worst of all, it was $8.39! Are you kidding? For that price, I'd suggest Burger Lounge. Went today around 2pm. All the employees are so nice! I love that they get along and enjoy their job. Seriously it makes a difference in my eyes. The wait wasn't long at all. One of the employees offered me a cup so I can get something to drink while I waited. So friendly. Plus the food was bomb. If you like burgers chances are you will like 5 guys. I'm a picky burger eater and this place is one of my favorites (you can keep In and Out and I wouldn't be caught dead eating a McDonalds burger). I like that I can get all kinds of toppings without extra charge (of course if you are a basic burger person, their burgers are not cheap). I stopped in this location Thursday for lunch. It wasn't very busy and there was one gentleman ahead of me in line. I ordered a LETTUCE wrapped Bacon Cheeseburger, when the cashier repeated my order he said a Bacon Cheeseburger in a bowl. I once again asked for it to be lettuce wrapped and not in a bowl. He said that was just the way it comes up in the register. I sat and waited for my order, the gentleman in front of me received his order and shortly after, so did the woman behind me followed by 3 more orders!! Now over 25 mins has passed and finally they called my number. I walked up to get my order and knew immediately that it was wrong. Burger in a bowl is what I got. I was told they would remake my order but I didn't have the 20 plus minutes to wait for it to be made right. To top it off once I opened my bowl there wasn't even any lettuce in it at all! This is the first time that i have eaten here and all i can say is wow. For a food shop at Parkway Plaza/in El Cajon, this was a great place to eat! The food was very good, the options were vast and all five of the people I went with were very happy with our meal. The food was a bit pricy and the restaurant definitely loud, but this was a comfortable place to go with my family and not have to worry about being too nosy or feeling uncomfortable in a stuffy place. Also, the proportions were HUGE, so you'll definitely be full when you leave. Also... It was cute to watch the little preteens eating there on their dates, hehe. Don't expect gourmet food, but if you're looking for great customer service, I would certainly recommend this location. **I DO HAVE TO NOTE that there are peanuts everywhere, which is fun and adds to the atmosphere, but if you have severe peanut allergies then don't even think of coming in here. read more

My burger and fries were delicious!!! I'm a first timer there. I let the guys know that my fries were a bit salty and right away they made a new batch! I came through here for lunch with my family. I dont eat Five Guys that much since I used to work for the company as a supervisor back in 2011-12. When I ordered I specifically asked for 2 sides of mayo that the manager said ok, but didnt type into the system. She would later forget while she sat around waiting for the burger to cook. She didnt communicate with the guy working fry either so he had no idea to put it into my bag. I'm glad I decided to dine in last minute or I would have been out of luck. I also specifically asked for light grilled jalapenos, this too was not put into the pos so she forgot and gave me a full order. According to company standard, at least when I worked there, 4 to 5 jalapenos was a regular serving. I got 6, which is NOT LITE. The frys were not rinsed as good as they should have been judging by the brown that came up on my fry. (The color of starch getting cooked. And they tasted as such.) The regular fry was double dropped as well showing signs of burning, and by no means having a crispy shell with a mashed potatoes center. At least that USED to be the standard. Also being the only ticket in there they took 10 minutes, not the company policy of 8. Luckily for them I'm not a secret shopper, if they still even do that. read more
