This burger joint was very simple place. But the prices were anything but simple. I could not believe how expensive this place was for a self serve restaurant. It's one step above a McDonald's. My family of five ate there and it was $70!!! The food was decent but nowhere worth the price. Also no salads there or any healthy choices. read more

Before watching Endgame, we decided to treat ourselves with our favorite burger joint. Upon walking in, my girlfriend froze into a solid block of ice and I had to put her under a heat lamp for the duration of the visit. The service was great, everyone was super helpful and nice, and the order didn't take long to make. I unfortunately dropped what remained of my burger, and it shattered when it hit the floor. What I got to eat was delicious, however. The cajun fries' spice did well to offset the arctic cold. Towards the end of our visit I discovered Captain America, and Megatron both still frozen in place. As we were getting ready to leave, the St. Louis Blues came in and began a pickup hockey game, skating on diet coke that another patron had spilled on the floor. read more

We decided instead of spending a fortune on crappy food at the park we would wait to eat dinner until we got back on the road towards Carbondale. Some burger joints just don't even bother to try on the quality of the ingredients, attempting instead to lure in families with splashes of checkered primary colors, simple menus, and loud rock music: Sonic, In n Out, Cheeburger Cheeburger, Hard Rock Café, Johnny Rocket's, Checkers, White Castle, and 5 Guys. It's all crap, only remotely tolerable in a semi-drunken state after striking out at the bars... and even then, immediately regrettable. Hubby and I decided to split a bacon cheeseburger because it came with 2 patties and with the "fixin's" would have been too much for either of us alone. They even cut it in half for us. We also got a side of fries. The burger was cooked on the grill and the place smelled like the diners of my youth. This was the best burger I've had in longer than I can remember. It was juicy and flavorful with the cheese melted all around the bacon and burger. Yum! The fries were also my favorite kind, fresh cut and creamy good with a little crisp on the outside. It may be a good thing that this place is not in my neighborhood because I would be there all the time. I will definitely be back though. read more

This was the worst experience I've had at a five guys. We usually like five guys but this location was terrible! It took 30 min to get our food and by the time we did get our food our order was wrong. We had our boys with us who are 6 and 3. So we had to have them remake the food, wait another 15 min and AGAIN our order was wrong! They finally made my burger a third time and again wrong AND it wasn't even cooked! I typically do not write reviews at all but I just couldn't believe my experience here. It's so disheartening. I will most likely not return to this location again. read more

I've been here about a dozen times over the past few years. Their food has always been consistently fresh, hot, and tasty. Their burgers are juicy and flavorful, and their fries are always hot! Their service is fast and friendly, even when they are understaffed for the day. I've never had a bad experience here in Ellisville. I highly recommend you give them a try. read more

I think these folks do a great job of turning out consistent, decent food of good quality. The food comes out hot, the service is friendly, and they always walk around asking if there is anything they can get for you. My kids always love coming here for fries and a hot dog. I came here on a Saturday night and walked in on a man berating the cashier. I hate that sort of thing so I stood and waited patiently when the cashier asked me too. After a few minutes, the employee came to me to tell me that they couldn't serve me, because there were only two of them on staff. The place was fairly empty and it looked as if everyone in there had been served. I understand being short-staffed, but I don't understand why two people couldn't handle one person's order. I saw another couple get turned away as I was leaving. I'm sure the employees were doing everything they could, but this was unacceptable for the franchise. read more

It's been a couple of years since last visited. The restaurant was clean and service was friendly. Preferred cheeseburger with bacon and fries. Order come out in good time. The food was hot and fresh. The only complaint was the fries were a bit greasy for my liking. Overall this concept has not changed and was happy with the experience. read more

The burgers are really good, and the french fries are amazing. I love the simplicity of the menu. I love the fact that they dump more french fries into your to go bag to ensure you have plenty of "found fries" at the bottom of the bag. You want to be careful to not eat too much, as the food tends to be a bit on the greasy side. It is also a bit too pricey -- $22 for two burgers and a large fry. We loved it, just won't make it a weekly thing. read more

The food was a five star rating but the place was a freezer....I would have left but my husband who likes it cold wanted to stay. I had a jacket and was still freezing....when we sat down to eat HE even admitted it was too cold in there and we ate fast and left...I won't go back. I love summer and cant wait for the warm up. The burgers are good and really hit the spot if that's what you're in the mood for. I love having so many choices for toppings. The fries are also very tasty when fresh, although, they are very salty (too salty), I usually order them without salt/seasoning but on occasion I forget, as I did this last time, and they were drowning in salt. This location has just become pathetic! I gave them a five star a year and a half ago. The people working there then aren't to be seen and that has obviously worn down my patience with them. A week ago the family stopped in for a burger to eat on the run. No pickles, went back in and they said they have been out for a few days. Why don't they at least go pick some up at Dierbergs or Schnucks? A week ago we visited this Five Guys, what a disappointment because we like their pickles very much. It really makes the burger more than anything else for us. Anyway, after a very uninspired $60 pickle-less meal, we decided to focus on the fries..they were perfect! Again this Friday night we found ourselves out and about and wanted a semi-quick burger. We pulled into SmashBurger on Clarkson.....even at 7:30pm they had every table full. So we decided to keep heading home down Clarkson and pulled into Five Guys. My wife and I agreed we missed the pickles last time so we kind of had a hankering for a burger with EXTRA pickles this time to make up for last weeks "I don't care we don't have pickles for our burgers" event. UNBELIEVABLE they were still out of firkin pickles!!!!!!! Over a week and they did nothing to get in pickles???? I have to wonder at what point of being out of something would they finally decide to go get some more somewhere else? Buns? Meat? Potatoes? Ketchup?.......Unbelievable and just plain pathetic management at this once well run store. Maybe this is why they had not a single person standing in line when other places like SMASH Burger was packed? I am done with this store, as they are obviously done caring about offering the basics and think offering "sweet pickle relish" on my burger is some kind of substitute for picking up a damn jar of dill pickles at Dierbergs????????? We drove by Dewey's.....packed. Hell, even Dairy Queen had smoke pouring from their roof top serving the bustling crowd. When we drove across the street by Windowsills Wood Smoke BBQ....three people sitting in there and NO way in hell would I go back to that place....it looked like everyone agreed with that feeling as usual, they were also dead when all the other casual and table service places were jammed packed at Clayton and Clarkson......Maybe Five guys and Windowsill should pay attention to the fact customers do have choices and their self absorbed pathetic attempts at running a restaurant will lead to their shuttering! read more

This pace lacks in customer service and also lacks in quality. When I received the wrong order I politely asked for them to correct it. I was immediately attacked and called a liar, and it wasn't until I brought all of my order to the front that they corrected it. When I received the new order I said "I'm sorry if I inconvenienced you all". The worker rolled her eyes and stated "yeah whatever". When I received the food it was completely undercooked and I ended up just throwing it away. I do not recommend this place unless you like terrible service and terrible food. read more
