Admittedly our first time back at 5 guys in a while since they are so expensive but we were ready for a solid burger and so many fries that we wouldn't be able to finish them... the typical 5 guys experience. Instead we got the smallest amount of fries I have ever been served at a 5 guys and were met with 2 rude female employees when we went to clarify if they had given us the right size of fry. We ordered the regular size fry which costs $7.49 and were served what felt like less than a large fry at McDonald's. Customer service here blows and the portions just keep getting smaller while the prices keep going up. The day Frederick gets a shake shack this place will be out of business within the year. My wife and I have eaten here twice in the past 30 days. Prices are a bit high, but the burgers and fries are so good. You can't beat the free toppings for your burger too. There was an issue with no toilet paper in one stall of the women's bathroom and the manager came out and took care of the issue pronto. Clean facility and decent people who work there. read more

Haven't had five guys in forever had to make a quick pit stop while i was around. The amount of fries in a regular size container and at the bottom of the bag is insane. Can feed up to 2 people honestly no need to order another unless you're a mega fry lovers! The burgers are "pricey" but the double pattie's are worth every penny. It's a beefy burger honestly with unlimited FREE toppings to add. They had milkshakes as well but i was way too stuffed for that. The service was speedy and the supply of peanuts at the door are always a plus. I love their soda machine of endless options. Always better than mcdonald's shhhh! read more

The online ordering takes longer to receive your food than just walking in so I always order at the counter now. It can take a while but I think that's because they're a busy location. The staff can be hit or miss. If there's a tall black guy working, I know my order will be right. He keeps things running really well. Other times the person taking my order might not even make eye contact before thrusting the receipt at me. Either way, my order is usually right. read more

On the food side of things my experience was stellar, however, the customer service was horrible, the general manager, was your classic narcissist, right off the bat as I came in I saw her staring daggers at me, and not only that but when i came up to the register to say I was picking up an order, she groaned, and essentially stomped away to go sloppily prepare the fries, literally throwing fries into the bag, ripping and tearing it in some places. To top all this off I heard her, as she walked into the back of the store, call me an idiot! My husband stopped to grab a bite to eat and while he was deciding what he wanted (with me on the phone). He shared that the young lady behind the counter had on gloves; but preceded to touch the order ticket, her shirt, the counter, and other random surfaces before touching the hamburger to put on a bun. Very disappointed with this Five Guys. Had to wait twenty minutes for my order. The fries were the worst! So limp and undercooked. Very bland taste and not hot. Don't we all rely on great french fries to go with our burger? If you're in a burger joint, you expect good fries. Good hamburgers like every other Five Guys, but the dining room was a wreck. Every unoccupied table was dirty. We cleaned off a table that was not in use and when someone had the audacity to ask us to move I told her to find us a clean table. She looked around them went to get cleaning supplies. A few minutes later she returned and cleaned off a table. A family that was leaving told her and us that every table was dirty when they arrived and they had to clean one for themselves. A year ago I wouldn't have been bothered, but these days, if you're going to offer dining in, there should be extras emphasis on cleaning tables. I stopped in last night at 9:15. It took about 20 minutes from ordering to actually getting my food, so a little on the slow side. The fries were really dark and not very good, my guess is the oil needed to be changed. I ate a small portion then tossed the rest. The chocolate shake was more like chocolate milk, I choked down about half but ended up tossing it. The burger was exactly what I expected and the only bright spot to the meal. I dropped $18 and all I really got was a cheeseburger. Here's my advice for this 5 Guys location: Burgers are fine order with abandon, but check out the color of the fries before ordering, if they look overly dark, skip the fries. If you're hankering for a shake, I think there's an ice cream shop in the same strip mall or a McDonalds right next door, either would have to be better than what I was served last night. P.S. Of the two in the frederick area this is my goto one. Bigger location so if it's gets busy it's not a big deal. Also this one is much easier to get in and out of. Even though it is further away than the other this one won't jip you on fries. They still hold to the cup plus the scoop the other does not. Docking one star because out of my last three visits they have messed up my burger. Nothing serious they just forget lettuce one time, tomatoes another. This is why he ain't shit...I know from insider information (chinatown DC 5 Guys) that the Five Guys standard in speed and efficiency is 7 minutes promptly to get out a burger and fries combo. The manager had no leadership here. My friend's meal took 10 minutes to get ONE burger NO fries and a One milkshake...all I ordered was one milkshake and that took 12 minutes. My friend was number 70 I was number 71...the dumb ass manager told the girl doing the shakes to stop after 69 and do burgers...leaving us hanging on them motherfucking milk shakes. I have gotten food twice from this place. Since it is 5 minutes from my house, the burgers and fries are still hot when I get them home, so I do carryout. First of all, the food is good quality, and the place is no-nonsense. You order your burger, cheese burger or bacon burger - then whatever toppings you want are free. The fries are like "beach fries" cooked in peanut oil - yum. (But usually need extra salt). They always toss an extra scoop of fries in the bag, so be prepared. Good quality food, and name brand toppings, and a few other items, like hotdogs or a straight up veggie sandwich (not a veggie patty - just veggies on a bun). Tonight was first time I went on a weekend, and I was disappointed. There were a few issues with service, and the food quality suffered. BUT! I talked to the manager - a man named Will- and he not only made it right, he apologized and told me to ask for him next time, and he would make sure everything was perfect! THAT is excellent customer service, and honestly, that bumped them back up to a 5. Anyone can make a mistake, especially since they are new, and maybe in training. But he handled it like a pro, and in exchange he has a happy customer who will be back. Maybe even next week! read more

We love five guys and usually have a fine experience. Our family ordered curbside online. When we got to the store, we called to let them know we were there. The employee who answered the phone was rude and said it would be a while. When they brought the food out, they continued to be extremely rude. They didn't respond when we said thank you, so I said it again to make sure they heard. The employee then turned around aggressively to say we probably didn't hear then say "you're welcome" because they were wearing a mask. There were more aggressive comments. My kids were in the car and upset by the interaction. We won't be returning. read more
