What a fun store! Definitely nostalgic! Lots of old time candy and sweets! I didn't purchase anything but I found some really cool things!

    Soviet Soda

Leninade. Need I elaborate? Ok apparently Yelp's decided I do. I came here with my friend specifically trying to get a bottle of Leninade. We walked into the building and searched for a while before realizing that to our horror and immense disappointment didn't have any - we were distraught. Inconsolable. The next day we returned and alas! The fruit of our labor! The Leninade sat hidden away on the shelf. I ended up drinking the Leninade to comfort myself after spending 4 hours making ravioli from scratch only to have literally 0 leftovers after one meal. It was pretty good and helped me feel better. Moral of the story: Drink Leninade, Comrade.

I had so much fun going in here!! The workers were very nice and all of the sodas I bought were delicious!!

This is a cute little shop full of nostalgia. I saw so many different candies/treats from my childhood. They have many odd soda flavors you can try. I ordered the guava passion fruit sorbet. It was very rich and creamy but not super sweet. A child's size was just enough.

Great variety of sodas (all organized very well) and old time candy! I loved the old school vibe and it's nice they have a space Nextdoor for people to sit. Prices were very reasonable and made a great little gift to bring home to the family. Was so glad to see they had birch beer as it's hard to find in va and I'm a pa girl. Def go in and check them out! These places are a unique gem.

in our cold and dark world, soda pop is the only thing that makes me feel better. They have goose soda, colorado cola, vintage colas, it is so fun i think they have ice cream too but i only focus on the soda

    Stroop To My Level Freddy

In an exploration of Frederick earlier this year, my sister and company walked by this place, but it was COLD, and all we saw was ice cream! We had no intention of actually stopping by, but definitely kept it on our minds for warmer days. Fast forward to now, my sister and them have gone and insisted I join them the next time I'm around! It ended up being a birthday celebration for my brother-in-law, and it got to be dinner AND dessert! When I went inside, I was intrigued to see all the sodas on the shelf, and my gosh do they have some WILD flavors. Bacon? Pickle? Peach Cobbler?! I settled for a ginger beer I've never seen before (we'll come back to that), but then I diverted my attention to the food. They've got hot dogs, sloppy joes, and plenty of snacks, OH MY! And you could make the buns gluten-free and the hot dogs or sloppy joes vegan. I decided to go with the hot dogs, and there were so many toppings to choose from! I made one super spicy and put bacon bits and relish on the other. After ordering, my family sat outside and a woman brought the food to us. The hot dogs on the gluten-free buns are FANTASTIC! And it was a great price! Don't forget, I had ice cream too... they had several excellent flavors like Blueberry Cheesecake, Banana Cream Pie, Twix, Cookie Butter, and enough topping options to make your head explode! As if that's not enough, they have.... DONUT ICE CREAM SANDWICHES! And not just any donut... they come from Glory Doughnuts, a delightful vegan donut shop nearby in town! I got the Stroop to my Level Freddy, which, in case it isn't obvious, is a donut ice cream sandwich topped with stroopwaffel. It was everything. See my pic of it and tell me how that couldn't taste delicious! All in all, I had a great experience and am itching to go back. I wish Frederick wasn't so far T_T

    Banana Caramel Bourbon

Got ice cream here due to their unique variety and popularity among the locals. Perhaps this place is great for sodas and snacks, but their ice cream was disappointing. I talked to the cashier asking their opinion on ice cream flavors- I followed their descriptions and ordered a Banana Caramel Bourbon flavor in kiddie size in case I didn't like it. They claimed what I got has a strong banana flavor, which I like. Thankfully, I ordered kid size- there was absolutely ZERO banana or caramel flavor and it tasted like someone put pumpkin pie spice in the ice cream with some bourbon that wasn't evenly dispersed throughout the ice cream. Given ice cream/gelato are my favorite types of desserts, I've had better quality just based on the taste and texture. Would not come here again for ice cream.

Big selection of sodas to drink. The service was alright -- seemed to have an inefficient system so it took a while for our ice cream to be served, but I was happy with the friendliness of the workers. The big deal breaker for me was the handling of food. The workers do not wear gloves when preparing milkshakes and ice cream cones. At one point I even saw a worker grab pre-scooped ice cream with their bare hands and stick them into a customers milkshake. Gross! Outside of the handling of food, the experience was good and as long as you don't order ice cream it's a good shop for a nice visit. Beware, the shop is quite small and will become crowded easily.

[Coronavirus review] This is one business that has adopted thorough social distancing. They have a takeout window with tape marked to keep you away from it, as well as online ordering. They'll bring you your sodas. I was in the market for ice cream, however, and sampled a robustly flavored blueberry and a passable mint with "brownie brittle", which were a good amount for the price. Their main business is soda, and they have a very large selection of unusual items. I've never been entirely sold on this business strategy, seeing as how I can get very nice and very niche sodas at any number of specialty grocers for a lot less (including the MOM's right on the outskirts of Frederick). Ordering sodas online tends to be impractical due to shipping, and this place does have such a selection you can probably find something worth trying that you couldn't get elsewhere if you like specialty sodas, which I surely do. Also worth noting that they have a significant vegan selection of candy and some vegan frozen desserts which are generally big brands and not housemade. Still, if you're dairy-free or vegan but still want nutrition-free indulgence, you are better served here than in the average dessert shop. They also have some nice "survival kit" package deals, including a vegan one, for sale online.

This was an awesome find. Vegan ice cream on a cute little street w many restaurants. Regular ice cream too. Easy to social distance and walk around. Masks required. Walk up to the window and order from this retro spot. Old school candy, pop and candy lovers dream! Friendly staff, quick service and a few seats outside.

Amazing service and friendly worker. The ice cream was meh nothing special. Dryers ice cream is better. It was overall a cool experience but no desire to go back anytime soon.

Soda pop & Retro...2 words that wanted me to stop by this shop. However I hardly drink soda and don't really know of most retro pops, but that is what Yelp is all about - exploring new things. Things like Unicorn Yack and Werewolf Ginger Beer or even Martian Poop Soda. I only explored these and viewed them on the shelf - leaving other patrons to taste those. I settled for an IBC brand Cream Soda, a Shirley Temple and a Jamaican Ginger Beer. I also had a cone here too with Almond Coconut Almond Joy Ice Cream. You know the Almond Joy candy, well picture that in an Ice Cream flavor...Yum. Great place to stop by, if you are in the area. It has a cute sign outside for the store.

The busy-ness was a testament to its popularity, yet it was comfy and relaxed because there was a variety of seating areas where one could enjoy their beverage and/or food. Many were reading, listening to personal headphones, chatting with friends. The atmosphere was lively. I loved that the menu had a variety of items on it... Definitely something for everyone. This is one of the few shops that have a delicious cardomom syrup. I actually ended up ordering a second beverage because the first one was so delicious!

And saw the "under" orientation of the toilet paper, which violates the original patent for toilet paper holders from 1891, where the paper clearly goes over the top. The "over" configuration: * prevents the roll from brushing the wall * makes it easier to grab with one hand * reduces accidental unrolling * and, most importantly, does not make decent people feel like they're living in a lawless society. What you have here is bathroom anarchy. I must admit that tile and brushed metal fixtures actually look really nice, which somehow makes the backward roll even more upsetting. It's like a beautifully plated meal served on the floor. Moreover, the ceiling contains approximately 400 judgmental eyes observing you while you attempt to live your life. The wallpaper on the ceiling (on the ceiling!!!) has a pattern based on the "evil eye" motif (sometimes called nazar), which shows up in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern design. Traditionally it's supposed to ward off bad luck or jealousy. All it does in this case is confirm the establishment has abandoned reason and at least one of the people who work has met a psychedelic mushroom. Still, the vibe everywhere else in this place is amazing and the coffees are very very good!

I saw people coming out of here! I didn't hesitate, I skipped right on across the street to see what I could see. The cutest Korean bakery! The same bakery you know and love from H Mart now has a stand alone location in the heart of downtown Frederick. I took a spin around, snapped some photos and then grab a tray to load up with goodies. I love that its self-serve. You can always get the one you want without the awkward and mostly ineffective pointing and direction giving from behind the glass lol. I picked up a nice mix or sweet and savories. I think my favorite was the spicy jalapeño ham & bacon roll. It was soft, spicy, salty, and just the right amount of sweet from the dough. You can order finer pastries, coffee, and boba tea from the counter and eat in or take it to go. I'll be coming here every time I'm in town for sure!
