Burgers are good (not great, not bad). Patties are usually on the dry side, so make sure you get some Add-Ons. The restaurant is freezing cold, every time I've been here, I'm uncomfortably cold. I love their burgers!! Yes.. They are on the pricey side but the way I like my burger (with lots of extra toppings) it makes it worth it for me. Other places would have extra charges for each topping but here you can have unlimited Toppings for no additional cost. So the point is.. If you want a burger with sautéed onions and mushrooms and jalapeños, etc.. This is a great spot to try! If you just want a hamburger with ketchup and lettuce, go to McDonald's or somewhere. I understand being frustrated that all prices are the same even if you want it super plain, but that's how this business is run.. Instead of complaining and giving shitty reviews just eat somewhere else food is well worth the money depending on how you order. Quality is great. Speed is great. Not sure about customer service cause I usually order through Uber eats. But I have never had a problem with my order.. No mistakes at all.. And the milkshakes are really good too read more

While I admit that I like their food, Five Guys has a bit of improvement they could do. I feel that the burgers I get here are always squished and so juicy that the bun is soggy (just for a reference, I tend to get their little cheeseburger, all the way). Additionally, the prices are a bit high for how much food you're getting. Also, the wait always feels excessively long, no matter how many people are there. Even though the customer service is decent, I don't appreciate that the cashier always asks if I understand what "all the way" means, since that's their own created phrase for "all the items in black." The biggest redeeming factor for this restaurant is their fries. No matter what, these fries are amazingly cooked and seasoned, and not only do they give you a cup of them, they also dump an additional scoop into the bag, just in case the amount you ordered wasn't enough. Unfortunately, amazing fries don't do much for a review when everything else is mediocre at best. So if you're craving good quality fries, head to Five Guys, but keep on looking if you're interested in a burger. read more

Alright, so the place looks pretty cool, open spaces help you focus on the food producing and all the people inside. make you think its all about the food and that its probably pretty good. I was sorely disappointed. i only got a hotdog, which I know, Im at a burger place get a burger. But I was feeling a dog. it was a bacon cheese dog with sauteed onions and mushrooms. turned out to be a cheap tasting hotdog with tasty bacon, which didnt outweigh the dog, and what seemed freshly cut onions? with canned yellow mushrooms. Paying close to five dollars for a far sub-par hotdog, was quite questionable. i'll pay an extra $2.50 at the store to get buns and the dogs and eat for three plus days. I was hoping to find salvation in the fries, they were of sorts that needed ketchup or not be eaten at all. maybe the Cajun fries would've been a better choice. (oh and I saw the chef smash the patty while it was cooking, if you do that, dont let me see it. makes me wanna shed a tear.) I have mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand, it's a quality burger with fresh ingredients and plenty of fixins. But it is PRICEY, I ordered 2 cheeseburgers, 2 Drinks and 1 large order of fries and my total came out to $22. It may be a great fast food burger but it's priced like a restaurant burger. Sure we got "free" peanuts (too salted) and the fries were enough for 2 people (they score 2/5) but honestly it's only almost as good as In N Out but for that same price I could have gotten 4 Double Doubles, 4 fries and two drinks. Unlike many people here my burger was not dry, it was quite juicy and the bun was okay. The meat was obviously never frozen but it could have used more salt or been left on the grill a bit more to pick up some more charred flavor, the fries were plentiful but not very good (tho that may be a personal preference). Outdoor seating is a plus if you like your lungs filled w/ cigarette smoke. I really enjoyed my meal but there is an In N Out across the street where you don't have to face the barrage of overpriced apparel and kitsch of Riverpark. I'm sure I'll be back but I don't think I'll be a regular. I would have given this place a 4/5 if not for being overpriced, in this economy value is king. read more

After reading the last review on here we decided to go out and try Five Guys. Well................. I thought it would be really busy- it wasen't. The wait in line was maybe 4 minutes and time to get our food about five minutes. Now, about the food. I ordered iced tea- it was very weak and watered down. The french fries were big ( we got the regular- we sampled the Cajun and the spice was to hot for us) but not too good. They came in a medium size paper cup- they were not cooked enough and got soggy really fast in that cup. Also had no flavor- not close to McDonald's but about the same as In & Out. I ordered the small cheeseburger with raw onions, sauteed green peppers, sauteed mushrooms, mustard, ketchup, etc. It was good- had WAY more meat that In & Out or McDonalds- it was good but not great. My husband ordered the same burger but with two patties. He also had a soda. Our bill for 2 burgers, 2 drinks and one fry was over $17. We would not go back there on a regular basis. It is way too expensive and the food is at best, average. I would never recommend this place for a family on a budget. Actually, McDonalds is just as good and way cheaper. The employees ( boy, were there a LOT of employees) were nice and kept up well. The peanut thing was not mentioned to us and not offered to anyone around us. We went up and got some on our own. Would have been nice to offer them to the clientele since we could all see them. Not planning a return visit. read more

After reading a recent online story about America's best burgers on Yahoo and finding out that the #1 top rated FIVE GUYS burgers just opened up a location in Fresno, I was excited to taste test this new competitor in the burger wars. Stationed next to Edwards Theater in River Park in the old Johnny Rockets location, the restaurant was jammed packed full of customers. Everywhere around the restaurant, you saw signs exclaiming how highly rated their burgers were, from national publications, newpapers to the eminent food reviewer, Zagat. I ordered a Bacon Chesseburger with most of the fixins (which includes grilled mushrooms and onions), along with a small order of Cajun fries and a small drink. The cost of a simple burger combo: almost $11, the same price you would pay for a burger in a sit down restaurant like Red Robins or Chilis. After shuffling around and waiting to find a seat, I had a few of the free peanuts while waiting for my number to be called. 20 minutes later, I received a brown paper bag filled with Cajun fries and a paper wrapped burger. Overall, the double patty burger was tasty, but a bit messy; the bun was pretty wimpy and was soggy with all the fixins dripping all over the sides. It barely held the burger together and started to break apart with each bite. I love mushrooms with my burgers, but it was hard to taste the mushrooms in the Five Guys burger; there just wasn't much taste. Even though I didn't order any relish or sweet pickles, there was an overall sweetness to the burger that bothered me; I finally discovered that it was the ketchup that was the culprit; it's a much sweeter ketchup than your normal ketchup. Because of the overwhelming condiments, it was hard to taste the meat, but when I chomped down on a portion of meat, it wasn't anything special. I've tasted better meat in In and Out and Red Robin Burgers,. The fries were tasty with the Cajun seasoning, and quite large in portion, but at the same rate, some of the most expensive fries I've paid ($2.69 for a regular size). I would prefer that five guys make a smaller size fries and charge less. Overall, despite the nationwide ratings, I found the Five Guys burger just to be a decent, okay burger, but way too expensive for what you got and definitely OVERRATED. Have those reviewers from the east coast ever tasted an In and Out burger? There are far better burgers in Fresno at much more reasonable pricing. For burger taste, perfection in the balance of ingredients and condiments,and prompt service, nothing beats In and Out Burgers. It's simply burger nirvana. Nice try, Five Guys. read more

Best burger we've had in years!! There were really five guys plus two gals working there. Standard is two patties, little is a single patty, and the veggie is no patty but I got Little "all the Way" plus jalapenos. All the condiments no extra charge. No other burger joint compares. I suppose Red Robin offers gourmet burgers with waiter service, but their meat can be very dry. Five Guys has my vote as the best. Fries are hand cut with peels still them. Generous portion will feed 3 easy. Drinks unlimited. also offers hot dogs. simple menu of burgers, hot dogs, fries, drinks done great. No fancy weird stuff like cranberry chilpolte walnut dressing or double dipped oooey gooey stuff. Great food at a great price. Also there's free help-yourself peanuts from a box in the corner while you wait for your food.. Other thing is orders come wrapped in aluminun foil, fries served in big paper cup and everything a brown paper bag. No trays, baskets or plastic. read more

You'd think they'd get the order right if they lowered the volume of the music and loud air conditioning that's on all year around. Be sure to bring a coat since it's always freezing. The customer service here was great; no complaints. I thought the staff seemed to get along with one another really well & were happy to be there (or at least appeared to be!). It's pretty casual; there are LOTS of similarities between Five Guys and In n Out. I think Five Guys is supposed to be a step or two above In N Out & I suppose the prices reflects that. For a family of 3 (toddler, husband & I), we spent $30 on 2 cheeseburgers, a large fry, 2 large drinks, & a grilled cheese. That seemed a bit much - I'd expect that at a restaurant, not necessarily what is essentially, just another burger joint. However, the burgers are double patties & they were pretty good in my opinion; my husband wasn't impressed though. My son's grilled cheese was tasty, although he preferred the fries. The fries were just meh to me - I've had better from fast food joints. Everything was served fresh & hot. If I were to come back, I would just order a burger, skip the fries. I went here to eat with my Love & we loved it. I had a little trouble eating my burger because the bun kept slipping away but it was still good. The burger's taste amazing(: you choose what goes in it and what doesn't. For information... The "Little" burgers ($4-$6) just mean that it's a regular sized burger, 1 meat patty. The actual burgers ($5-$8) are double patty. It's a pretty popular place, price is good for the burger, casual. Recommend this place for those burger lovers. It was our first time to Five Guys last week at Riverpark and we enjoyed a good meal. Yes, a little pricier than our other favorite In&Out burger but still good. We ordered a regular size fries and we were surprised to see the extra scoop of fries that was placed in our brown bag of food. The "little" burger is the same size as an In&Out burger.
