Five Guys Burgers and Fries are a fabulous concept. Who doesn't like fresh burgers and Boardwalk style fries? Well, I do, anyway. I've visited several locations in the area, and the food has been fabulous at all of them, which tells me that this franchise cares about quality control. It's not haute cuisine, it's burgers and dogs, but what they do, they do fabulously. This particular location is a fave. The service is always prompt and friendly, and my order has always been correct. In addition, they have the absolute coolest self-serve soda machine ever. My daughter and I have a wonderful time choosing from the numerous options, and try a new flavor every time. Helpful hint: Order the regular burger unless you're REALLY hungry, and share an order of fries, because it's HUGE. Generous is an understatement where these portions are concerned. You will pay more for these than average fast food, but it's still a good value. I don't feel rushed, even when they're packed, and important for me, the bathrooms are well maintained and clean. It's a great atmosphere in a picturesque location with lots of other businesses like Gamestop, and close to Target and Giant, which makes it a perfect place to take a shopping break. read more

Best burgers and fries ever! I love this place! Its just simple, plentiful burgers and fries. I don't know how they do it, but somehow the burgers just taste better. And ordering fries turned into a pleasant surprise when they filled the packet to overflowing and had to put it in a bag. The place has a special charm with it's retro decor, loud 80s music and piles of peanuts at the door. The price is good, the restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly. This has been my at home locale for 5 Guys, going on 6 years now. Both the burgers and the fries are consistent. The pickup counter is smack in the middle of the restaurant so I've never had a problem listening for my number. They haven't mishandled our order to date. Yes, 5 Guys is still in the lead pack of burger race but the number of stores they have is quickly approaching critical mass. If you put a 5 Guys in every shopping center its going to water down what people think of the product. read more

Very fast and catered to the needs of my diet without a problem! I was very pleased with my food. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is due to the staff. It's been awhile since I've been here but judging by their customer service on this visit their quality of service has gone downhill. I had my kids on this visit with me and we ordered a little bacon cheeseburger, two bacon cheddar hot dogs, fries, and three sodas. The burger was fine but the hotdogs did not have any cheese on them. I went promptly back to the counter to let them know and the kid behind the register gets this guy named Jose who I found out later was the manager on duty. Jose looks at me like I'm an idiot, asks me if I want the cheese on the dogs or on the side, I ask him if the cheese was supposed to be on the hot dog and he goes back and asks for cheese, he puts the two slices of cold cheese on aluminum foil and proceeds to hand them to me. WTF? I'm sure by the look on my face he knows I'm not happy so he says in a rude tone...do you want me to make them again? Hey, Jose, I'm no manager at five guys but I'm pretty sure customer service is not handing me two slices of cold cheese on hot dogs that you didn't make right to begin with. You should've taken the dogs and remade them, without asking me if I wanted new hot dogs. AND when I let the kid behind the register know I was complaining and going to write this yelp review, I certainly do not appreciate your staff in the kitchen glaring at me like I'm doing something wrong. Well I wouldn't go to Five Guys to order a hot dog. That is like ordering chicken wings from Red Lobster. I have been to most every Five Guys in Northern Virginia, and I still think the one in Springfield tastes the best. I have been to this one about a dozen times, sometimes the burgers are tasty, and sometimes they are bland. I can't put my finger on as to why but it seems to me that the beef seems to taste different each time I go there. read more

Ordered five guys with their online app while out shopping for Christmas. Ordered 2 burgers and the selected everything we wanted added. To do that you tap the item, pick light, regular, or heavy for say pickles, lettuce, onions, and then you hit the little checkmark in the corner and it return you to the list. I selected two burgers to be picked up both with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and mayonnaise; this and one regular fry with a tip cost me $30. I picked up the burgers and made my way home; as we open to the burgers to eat we found we had nothing but two patties with cheese and buns, no lettuce no tomato no pickles no onion no mayonnaise. I called five guys and said I was really disappointed I had wanted a good burger and instead I just had two patties with melted cheese between two buns which I could've done myself at home for much less than $30. The young lady told me that the order that came through on the computer just showed two plain burgers. Not only were they two plain burgers but they were well done and I must say I probably would've enjoyed driving through Burger King more. Both of these burgers ended up in the trash and my daughter and I drove to Foster's Grille to get some good burgers. Sadly it will be the last time I go to five guys. read more

My son with celiac had his first burger without a bun. The burger cook was extremely helpful and said he would take care of everything for us. It was a little messy to eat but he loved it. Normally eating here is a good experience. Tonight we ordered 4 burgers and 2 of the 4 were not prepared the way they were ordered and showed on the receipt. Service was a little slow and they didn't get my order correct and since it was carry out didn't realize until we were already home. Have eaten here several times in the past 6 years (this is our neighborhood 5Gs). The last few times, we have noticed the quality of the service deteriorate. The manager is not adequately equipped to Handle customer concerns. The staff is mostly Spanish but seem to struggle with the custom nature of each order. Last week, I decided to eat here as it was the nearest burger location for me. I ordered a cheeseburger with bbq sauce on it. When I started to eat, I realize that it is only fat that I am eating. I was so hungry but I couldn't finish all of the burger. Plus I had french fries as side. French fries were good but burger was not at alll! This was the second time I ate here. While most people rant and rave about these guys, I think it's okay. The burgers are decent and fresh, but the fries are super greasy. Order a "regular" size, and you'll definitely have enough for two meals. They serve your fries without a box in a brown bag, and the brown bag ends up soaking up all the grease. Although I vowed not to review any burgers from fast food places (the last McDonalds or Burger King I've had was in the 90's- damn I'm old). However I had been introduced to Five Guys Burgers and Fries a few years ago by my nieces who are from the metro DC area, where the franchise was founded in the late 80's. Known for its fast casual burger concept and operation standards that include using only fresh ground beef (there are actually no freezers or frozen food in any of the Five Guys stores), and peanut oil. There are usually large boxes of peanuts for waiting customers to pick on free of charge. And most of the time you can count on having to wait because usually it's packed. By some anomaly on the day we went there was NO ONE there. I ordered a burger (which here is always a double, for a single you have to order the Little Burger) with cheese and ketchup, the wife orders her and we decide to share an order of fries because they're always so big. When asked if that's it I say I'm thinking about a bacon cheese dog, but before the words come out of my mouth the wife tells me I can't have one because we're going out to dinner in a couple hours. I ask the guy behind the counter if he's married, and tell him how I remember the days when I could order whatever I wanted without permission from someone. He then gives us number 11 or something. Looking around the empty restaurant I joke, "We're the only ones here. Shouldn't we be number 1?" He laughed and scribbled 1 over the table number on the receipt- nice guy. We get our burgers and as usual they are juicy and delicious. Although the patties are usually small (but you do get 2) and cooked through, they are always greasy (in the good way) and cheesy and whatever toppings you choose just swim in the goodness. Share a small order of fries between four people and you'll still have some left over. The fries are the only thing that, I have to admit, can less than impressive. Although there's plenty, they are on occasion greasy (in the bad way) and limp. There is no BEER, but no place is perfect, the BURGER was great, and the SERVICE was fun. Make sure to visit the one in Gainesville, VA if you want the awesome burgers, but without the insane lines! read more
