I needed something to eat for dinner while visiting and staying in a local hotel. I got to the five guys about a half hour before they closed and there was only one person in line in front of me. They took my order rapidly and food came out pretty quickly. It was very hot and fresh and delicious. Then amount of fries that they give you in a bag is essentially criminal. I ended up eating half of what was in my bag and gave the other half which felt like 2 pounds of potatoes to the front desk person at the hotel. It's a fast food joint so the interior is what it is. The one downside was the fountain machines weren't working properly. One had all grayed out items that weren't available, and the other wasn't mixing properly flavor wise. My friend was gracious enough to drop me off here in Greenville, SC when she is in SE West Virginia. As we pulled into the Greenville Marriott, we saw Five Guys nearby. With that said, I debated on coming to Five Guys after a long day of travel from Honolulu the evening before. That lure of the custom burger that Five Guys knows is often inescapable. As such, I arrived here after 845pm on a brisk and quiet Thursday October night. The restaurant was relatively quiet and empty. Thankfully that they didn't close up at 9pm. The restaurant itself was large enough to hold about 35 ish people at any one time. It was relatively clean and nice ad the same time. My basic order was a cheese burger and large regular fries, since I had already purchased drinks elsewhere along the way to Greenville. The service here was weird, as most of the staff here looked like they were in high school or freshly out of it and working. The entire experience took maybe at most 15 minutes from start to finish. Too bad the location of this Five Guys wasn't closer to the Greenville Marriott. It was probably or felt like 1/4 mile walk from the hotel to the restaurant if not a lil bit more, crossing the parking lot, a grassy hill, a semi busy street that was surprisingly busy at that hour. For the most part though, the experience here at this Five Guys was uneventful. While the service was weird, it was fast, friendly, and pretty cool. The overall experience here at this Five Guys location in Greenville, South Carolina was basic, good, and typical Fast food flavor that you've come to expect from a business like this. This order was basically a take out order and I probably wouldn't have eaten in anyway. Felt creepy dining there after 830pm especially when I'm vacationing nearby in a hotel. That ambiance was definitely not good after 830pm especially when time for closing was quickly approaching. Still, Five Guys makes up for it with its delicious offerings on its menu. It is nice to have this Five Guys in the immediate vicinity when you're staying nearby, most notably the Greenville Marriott here in Greenville, SC. The location was basically perfect. Just need to not be lazy and lounging in your hotel room and grab what you are craving for dinner that night. That basically sums that night for me. And so, if you are staying in the area and craving a juicy custom burger, consider coming to this Five Guys location in Greenville, SC. Might just be the craving talking but, the fix is very real and very delicious! For me, it was just a coincidence since I saw it on the way to the Greenville Marriott. Lucky me. This Five Guys restaurant is located at 3935 Pelham Road in beautiful Greenville, SC. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. I would guess that credit cards are better due to the ongoing Covid 19 thing, but that's just me. As far as parking goes, there's a limited amount of parking here for those who choose to drive here. For me, I basically walked here from the Greenville Marriott, as mentioned above. Not sure about Greenville's public transportation here, but if they do, please use the correct bus routes to get you here. Five Guys is nationally known for their custom burgers. While they're certainly not cheap as to their other national completion, they stand on their own and the taste is grand. Consider Five guys if your travels include a stop here in Greenville, SC. This chain burger place is in the same trend of the char-grilled burger joints, but is not one of the trendier "gourmet" burger joints. This is down to the basics with fresh 100% ground beef, hand formed patties. The french fries are cut from the potatoes that line the restaurant in large bags and their origin is noted on a white board. The fries are very good, but a large order will be enough for my family (including my 3 teen age boys), so go easy on the fries order. A 'regular' burger or cheesburger is a double patty deal, so if you are not as hungry, go with the "little" option, which is single patty. Fries have the vinegar option available, which is nice. Toppings are the normal lettuce, tomato, onion, grilled onion, etc. The jalapeno's are not pickled, but are fresh, so watch the heat. My only complain with the food is that the bun falls to pieces and won't hold up to the toppings and patty. This happened on all the burgers. The price is twice that of the similar option at Cook-Out. Where it hits hard is the $1.99 small drink order. That adds $10 to our meal for soda. Popular, crowded, clean, food is good, but pricey comparitively. read more

Service is always friendly although the wait is usually about ten minutes. Food is good; I usually get a grilled cheese with lettuce, mayo, ketchup, grilled onions, and grilled mushrooms. Not to bore you with a blog entry or something, but here's my review: Time & Date of visit: Around 8 pm, Saturday night 12/13 Party Size: 4 Location/Ambiance: This location is surprisingly cleaner than most 5 guys. I think most patrons aren't really munching on the free peanuts to cause a mess, or that the workers are pretty tidy on cleaning up after the guests. The cooks yell out the order numbers so, don't sit to close to the pickup counter if you want a less rowdy meal. Service: Two cashiers man the front while the rest of the staff or on the cook line. They are consistent with the flow as to not hold up the line of people waiting to put in an order and those that are sitting waiting to pick theirs up. I would say just for a "tiny" burger and a side of fries, my wait time was about 6-7 mins. Food/Beverages: Typical Five guys burger quality and taste. The burger patty actually held up and didn't crumble though, so that's a plus in my book. The cook handling the fries, was more then generous as for how much fries each order was getting. He would do the usual scoop for the cardboard container, and then grab another scoop from a metal container and dump some more in the bags. Extra fresh, greasy fries? Hell yeah, more for the money. Summary: I've been spoiled by most of the higher end burger places in Atlanta, so all I can say is this franchise location is up to par on areas. You don't be let down. These burgers are as close to being homemade as you can get! I get the little Bacon Cheese Burger and it is plenty, especially if you get fries. Be sure to get them seasoned, DA bomb diggity! And their bacon, is crispy and GOOD! Service was nice and friendly and the wait wasn't too long considering it was a Sunday after church. It's a little pricey for my taste, but you get what you pay for, so I would say it's worth it. But if you have a large family and tighter budget, be sure to look up prices beforehand. read more

Five Guys is a burger joint that I've been semi-wanting to try for about a year. It's a chain, so it's nothing ULTRA fantastic, but you might be satisfied. Service and people were A-OK. For fast food, it wasn't bad at all. The burgers were greasy and good. Similar to what I had at Jake's Wayback in Spartanburg. ADVICE: If you order a LARGE serving of fries and get full already, you can do one of two things: 1.) Donate those fries to the Soup Kitchen (or to homeless people). or 2.) Take fries home and put them in the fridge. Then re-fry those little guys. They taste even better. Five Guys is quite good, but it's not quite on par with Fuddruckers or Culvers IMO. How I've never eaten at one of these restaurants before I moved to Greenville is beyond me. My first visit I was surprised at the bill. I thought "This better be a damn good cheeseburger for that kind of money." It's a damn good cheeseburger and I'd happily pay that bill again and again. I don't know what they do to the hamburgers before they cook them, but it has moved Fuddruckers out of the top spot. Unbeknownst to me, the cheeseburger is a double. The fries are fantastic. If you're eating by yourself, a small order should do you fine. The staff here are really friendly. They keep the place clean and always greet you and tell you to have a good day when you leave. I'm so used to the dead eyed impatient stares I would receive from the teenagers at the McD's counters back in Illinois, that I almost felt uncomfortable having people in this industry act like they were happy to be there. While I enjoy the choices the Freestyle Coke machines offer, if you get behind someone that is confused by it, or studies the screen like calculus, expect your food to get cold before you can get your drink. Luckily at the Pelham Rd location, there's two. My suggestion to make this place even better would be to stay open until at least midnight and add a fried egg to the toppings. I'd gladly pay extra for it. I'm tempted to bring in a slab of cream cheese and some chopped jalapeño and on onions to top my burger. read more

If you want lettuce, ketchup, mustard, and a slice of tomato...just tell them! You don't have to deconstruct and reconstruct every hamburger you order. No more saying "hold the mayo and extra pickles"! Don't order the fries if you are allergic to peanuts as they are fried in peanut oil. First off , don't feel like a kid when you order the "Junior" cheeseburger, you will thank me later, unless you just finished some sort of 24 hour fasting. The portions are gi-normous both with the burgers and the fries, (hint) only get one order of fries per four people at the table, They serve the fries in a paperbag, assuming you'll never finish them all and you'll have to carry them home or drop them off at the local food bank . Every time i eat five guys, i say its my last time... and then i end up giving them another shot. Never again... Its not that the burgers are horrible, but theyre just not that good. They are over-priced and just not impressive to me. You can get a much better burger at kincaids which is a similar type burger restaurant. But to me, although its more like fast food, Whataburger is the best there is, and In-n-Out is pretty good also. And at those places, although they are considered fast food, theyre made freah just the same as five guys. Its mainly the set up at five guys that makes it seem less like fast food, but its not worth it at all. Burger king, and Jack in the box would get 1 star from me as far as burger quality... My girlfriend and I go here regularly and we love it. It is slightly higher priced but well worth the money! She gets a small cheese burger and I get a regular cheese burger with two patties and small fry. The small fry is plenty enough for two people. While you wait on your food you can snack on the free peanuts! They also have a cool drink machine with any drink flavor you could imagine. All the workers are younger but nice people. We ate here on Valentine's Night because the line at Red Lobster was just ridiculous. That being said, this place was steady with business. The staff all seemed cheerful and friendly which was a refreshing change from the normal fast food attitude of "I hate everything especially you." This store is always clean, and I can smell the food driving down Pelham coming home most nights.
