Burgers are pretty simple. You don't need a lot of pizazz or fancy sauces/toppings to make a good burger. Yes gourmet burgers have their niche but sometimes you don't want that but you don't want to stoop so low and get fast food. That's where places like Shake Shack and Five Guys come in. They have a hot griddle, soft buns, and toppings you can get at your grocery store. Most Five Guys I've been to are the same so you can expect pretty good consistency across all the locations. What makes the Hendersonville location special is that you can order milkshakes as well. I've had them before and they are pretty good, but I didn't get one this go around. What makes Five Guys so good is they have every "normal" topping imaginable, good bread, and as long as the employee at the griddle doesn't screw up your meat patties, it will come out juicy. Pair it up with an order of fries and you have your all American meal. I always order my burger "All The Way", meaning it comes with tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, mayonnaise, lettuce, and mustard. There are other toppings like BBQ sauce, jalapeños, etc that you can order at no extra charge. It's pretty standard what I order here: Double Bacon Cheeseburger (All The Way), Small Fries w/ Cajun seasoning, regular-sized drink. Because of the number of toppings, burger comes out a mile high but it's oh so good. Juicy beef patties, gooey cheese, fresh vegetables, and a nice amount of condiments. Thr Cajun fries are dusted with Cajun seasoning and like Five Guys style, you get half a paper sack full of fries despite ordering a small. The only beef (see what I did there?) with Five Guys is the pricing. That meal I mentioned earlier cost me 20$. That is expensive, even for a fast casual restaurant like Five Guys. And that's why I don't always come here and "cheap out" by going to McDonald's across the street. It's not really a comparison but money talks. Especially when you dine out as much as I do.

*Post-Covid review* I was very happy to see that all employees were wearing masks! They even had an employee covering the self-service drink machines. I walked in for pick-up, but he told me that they also offer curbside pick up currently. They do have a few tables available for dine-in, which are spaced accordingly from each other and from the ordering area. The employees at this location are very friendly and polite and service is quick. My orders have always been accurate. Five Guys is a little more expensive than the average fast food burger place, but you're getting a better quality, made-to-order burger with a good variety of topping options. Besides the standard lettuce, tomato, etc, you can also choose grilled onions, mushrooms, jalapeno slices and more, most of which are included in the price. (Toppings like bacon are available at an additional cost.) They also give you a generous amount of fries. Usually the "little" fries (small size) is enough for my husband and I to share. I love their fresh-cut Cajun fries! A nice bonus at Five Guys is free roasted peanuts, which used to be available in big boxes with scoops so you could grab some while you wait for your order. In light of the pandemic, they are putting peanuts in ready-to-go paper bags. They are also pre-packing ketchup.

Are you kidding with these prices? For a fast food burger? Not burning me again!

The little hamburger, little fries and regular drink that I purchased was good in terms of quality. Five Guys is simply getting too expensive. My meal was $15.92. For comparison Wendy's is about $7. The five guys burgers are probably 20% better than Wendy's but not twice as good. I can't continue to patronize an expensive place like five guys any longer when it just isn't worth it.

    You know you want some!!

When we first learned about Five Guys burgers we were driving to West End in Nashville to get them. We're so glad that Five Guys is finally nearby! The burgers are always fresh and made-to-order and delicious. So delicious that we considered getting rid of our grill. Then we remembered that we also grill chicken and steak on occasion:/ Five Guys burgers are not the gourmet burgers that have hit the dining scene. These are burgers like you'd make at home without the trouble! Not too many things are more satisfying on a Friday night after a long work week than a big brown bag of their burgers and fries. And we love their fries. No matter how you you like your burger topped there are over 250,000 possible combinations (and that's according to them). You should find something you like. If not, then you shouldn't be eating a burger. They have hotdogs but we've never tried them. I'm sure there equally yummy. Fun fact...The French fries must be shaken 15 times exactly, and onion and bacon go below the patty while pickles and tomato go above. Great food and great service. They're a proven chain that hasn't dropped their commitment to making our bellies happy! Thanks for coming to Hendersonville!!! It's so good I forgot to take pics of my burger. I only got one of the peanut box!!!

Great burgers, but wish 5 Guys had Swiss, Pepper jack or Provolone cheese as well.

The food is great but the hard rock music is way too loud making the environment not very inviting.

I finally stopped by this spot for a quick bite, and it definitely scratched that West Coast itch. It's a drive through -- but a cool drive through -- not your typical polished chain setup. It feels local, authentic, and full of personality. Vibe: Simple, no frills, and true to its roots. It's the kind of place where you pull up, see a steady stream of cars, and just know you're in for something good. Definitely not fancy, but that's part of the charm. Service: Quick, friendly, and efficient. It's nice to actually talk to a person instead of yelling into a speaker box. You order at one window, then swing around to the other side to pick up your food. The kid who handed me my order couldn't have been more than ten -- or maybe I'm just getting old, lol -- but he was polite and had everything ready right on time. Food & Drinks: I ordered a Cheese Quesadilla, Shrimp Taco, and Fish Taco, and stuck with water to drink. The clear winner was the Cheese Quesadilla -- the cheese inside was rich and creamy, the outside perfectly crisp, and there was this subtle salty kick on the tortilla that made it addictive. Maybe it was butter, maybe a sprinkle of salt, but it worked. The tacos were your classic street-style setup -- onion, cilantro, and soft double corn tortillas. The Shrimp Taco was solid, nothing fancy but tasty. The Fish Taco, though, was a bit of a miss -- light on the fish and kind of bland overall. The salsas made up for it; both the verde and rojo had great flavor and a nice punch. Overall: A good experience and worth checking out if you're in the area. I always pay attention to who's eating somewhere, and the fact that this place draws a strong Hispanic crowd says a lot about its authenticity. As a pescatarian, it's probably not my personal go-to, but I'd absolutely recommend it to my meat-eating friends. Date of visit: 1 November 2025
