On a recent visit to the area I decided to hit up one of the places I had on my list for a while, Moore's Spicy Fried Chicken in Hendersonville. Moor's has been around for years and many a Hot Chicken Fan has visited this place. Moore serves up freshly made Fried, Hot, Spicy and Mild Chicken as well as Smoked Brisket and some other favourites. During my visit to Moore's iI just happened to be served by one of the owners/founders of Moore's. We had a great conversation talking about Hot Chicken, its history, and places that have come and gone. To keep things simple since it was lunch, I ordered a breast with medium spice and crinkle fries. My chicken was made from scratch and it took about 20 minutes for the whole process. When I received my chicken it was HOT, juicy, tender and fresh and with the perfect amount of crispiness. However I made the mistake of ordering 1 filet. The cashier told me they were big but they were NOT. It was a chicken tenderloin sized filet, which left me hungry that night. For the record, just pat a couple bucks more and get 2 filets. Hopefully they will be bigger than what I got....my kids let me have a bite or 2 of their food and I liked the pulled pork and the chicken tenders. The chicken tender was juicy and not at all dry (an indication of freshness). Overall I will come back. I have had their actual barbecue before and I know it's good.
