We were headed for pizza when we noticed this place. I'd never heard of it or seen it even though it's been here well over a year. The restaurant is clean and the chicken is fried really good, not greasy. We'll definitely be back and will leave room for the remarkable looking popsicles they have to cool off our palate.

perfect fries. the seasoning was AMAZING. if you don't like spicy chicken.. DONT GO HERE. even the "plain" chicken was so spicy!! the service was great! the restaurant itself was mid. the smell when you walk in is almost overwhelming. super spicy . also... side effects of eating "plain chicken": leaves burning sensation in throat, EXTREME hiccups, and diarrhea. overall: 6/10

We were in Nashville for the first time and had to try a hot chicken sandwich. We decided to go to BJ hot chicken since it was on the way to the hotel. The chicken was nice and crispy and the coleslaw along with the sauce really put everything together for a delicious bite! For the sides, we tried the mac & cheese, greens, and potato salad. My favorite was the mac & cheese. It was very creamy. We ordered to-go and the wait was not long!

Hot Chicken 6 Pieces Tenders & 2 Sides

Stopped in today for some hot chicken which was a great idea because it was delicious. I ordered the 6 piece tenders (Hot) with Mac n cheese and collard greens. I enjoy that the heat level here is hot and not uncomfortable, it is possible to have heat and flavor without being so uncomfortable you can't enjoy your food. The tenders were fresh and you could tell they were hand breaded and not frozen. The Mac n cheese is a little too runny for me but tasted fine. The collard greens would be improved by having some pork or vinegar in it. However the sides were fine. The service was great as I ordered at the counter and the food came out quickly. If you're looking for some yummy hot chicken, stop in at BJ's Hot chicken and give them a try!

We ate there over a year ago, shortly after they first opened, and it wasn't a good experience. We continued going to our favorite hot chicken place, but from what appeared to be mismanagement, they folded several months ago. We heard BJ's was much improved, we were missing eating hot chicken, so today we gave it another try. Pleased to report it was very good. I ordered mine mild. Unlike my previous visit there, the flavor was just right. Wings were outstanding. Excellent potato salad. I'll definitely have that again. The beans were good. Service was friendly and efficient. Restaurant was super clean. We'll be back next week. I'll probably try the breast quarter.

After being on the road most of the day, this will put you to bed. The chicken is sturdy and tasty. I asked if lemon pepper was wet and the guy said it was but it was not. The greens were tasty but they could use some hot sauce packets. The mac n cheese is just run of the mill and it might be unfair because it's right before thanksgiving. I'll reiterate that the greens are good. My husband calls the mac "nostalgic". They were very friendly in there so we'll definitely be back..juicy chicken and friendly service. And they didn't forget my husband's ranch. So, kudos to you guys!!

I'd driven by here several times and decided to give it a try. Very clean and nice new feel to this place. Friendly patient service explaining the different levels of "hot". We both tried #1 with three fingers and one side. I tried the mild and my son the regular. Both were made to order, so as a warning everything is hot. The mild was perfect...just enough seasoning to notice. My son really liked his regular. Fries were seasoned and the Mac n cheese was pretty good. Definitely worth a visit and we'll be back :-)

Meh ..... it's a bit greasy but tasty. The chicken is moist for the most part has a decent flavor. We got the mild, medium and hot. The hot, is pretty hot. The baked beans are terrible. Just straight out of a can with nothing added to make them tasty. The macaroni and cheese is chewy with little flavor. The little cup of the orange sauce is delicious. The restaurant is small and very clean. Service is quick and friendly. For the cost, I was expecting a bit more. It's not completely terrible but there's a lot better hot chicken.

Hot Chickenus Supremus…read more I make it a point to try and visit at least one Hot Chicken place whenever I'm in the Nashville area. On a recent visit to the area I decided to hit up one of the places I had on my list for a while, Moore's Spicy Fried Chicken in Hendersonville. Moor's has been around for years and many a Hot Chicken Fan has visited this place. Moore serves up freshly made Fried, Hot, Spicy and Mild Chicken as well as Smoked Brisket and some other favourites. During my visit to Moore's iI just happened to be served by one of the owners/founders of Moore's. We had a great conversation talking about Hot Chicken, its history, and places that have come and gone. To keep things simple since it was lunch, I ordered a breast with medium spice and crinkle fries. My chicken was made from scratch and it took about 20 minutes for the whole process. When I received my chicken it was HOT, juicy, tender and fresh and with the perfect amount of crispiness. Even though In ordered my chicken mild, I was still wiping sweat off my face while I ate my meal. it was a very good Hot Chicken meal and one of the best I've had in a while. If you are a fan of Hot Chicken, check out Moore's for yourself !!!

I prefer St. Louis style ribs, but thes were GREAT! I opted for coleslaw and potato salad sides and was not disappointed. The meal also included the house biscuits which are also very tasty. While I am not a big sauce user, the house BBQ sauce was a perfect tangy compliment to the smoked ribs. The servers were attentive and seemed to enjoy working here and the ambiance is clean and bright with plenty of tables for inside and outside seating. For years, Hendersonville was in dire need of a barbecue restaurant. To go anywhere for decent…read morebarbecue, you had to take a mini road trip to satisfy that craving. There was a rumor we were supposed to get a Martin's but that never came to fruition. Luckily we now have an Edley's, but that's over in Gallatin. When Jim 'N Nick's was announced, I was excited because although it's not "local", it was my 2nd barbecue experience when I first moved to Tennessee back in 2009. I like everything about Jim 'N Nick's, especially those killer, unlimited cheese biscuits that are like crack when you dine in. When I walked through the doors for the first time, something seemed different... I couldn't put my finger on it until I realized they morphed this restaurant into a fast casual style vs at actual sit down with a server. To be honest, most other barbecue restaurants follow this design around here and I prefer it for barbecue. You order once at the counter and get your own refills. They do have a bar here and a pretty efficient drive-thru, but I dined in with my kids that night. My daughter got the pulled pork sandwich kid's meal with a baked potato and my son got chicken tenders and mac 'n cheese. I usually get ribs but seeing how I ate barbecue earlier that day, I just got a 1 piece catfish plate with collard greens and a side salad... I know I know, kind of blasphemous but I vouch to return next time and try actual barbecue. I did order an appetizer of deviled eggs though. The salad was good (I mean it's a salad but it wasn't wilty, so that's all that matters.) The collard greens were tasty and not too bitter. The deviled eggs were fantastic, delicious and creamy with a slight sweetness to it. My catfish was excellently fried with a good base corn meal seasoning and the tartar sauce was icing on the cake. However I made the mistake of ordering 1 filet. The cashier told me they were big but they were NOT. It was a chicken tenderloin sized filet, which left me hungry that night. For the record, just pat a couple bucks more and get 2 filets. Hopefully they will be bigger than what I got....my kids let me have a bite or 2 of their food and I liked the pulled pork and the chicken tenders. The chicken tender was juicy and not at all dry (an indication of freshness). Overall I will come back. I have had their actual barbecue before and I know it's good. Everything was great, even down to the service. A great new restaurant in Hendersonville.

Written reviews matched our secondary experiences. The service was disjointed, and uncoordinated, and the food, should have never been brought to the table. But the claims of, "Under New Management", offered some hope of reviving the standards that had previously earned their namesakes, reputation and growth. This morning's breakfast experience was an astounding disappointment. Greeted and seated by cordial, pleasant staff, we were a party of 3, occupying only the second table, at 9:15 AM. (That emptiness itself should have been a hint of what was to come.) It took much longer than expected just to get coffee and water. Still longer, to place an order, and nearly half-an-hour for the actual meal service. The quality of the food, was nothing short of astonishingly poor. Most notably, cold. Considering there were only two tables occupied in the entire dining room, the cold servings were the first indication of coordination, communications, process, and standards shortfalls. The food preparation showed the skillsets of a 12 year-old, trying to mimic Mom's kitchen routine. How can a restaurant cook not do toast? It was white bread, with a slightly stiff outer layer. Most people would describe it as, "stale bread"; not toast. The pancakes served with the "Lieper's Fork Favorite", were beyond belief. Three hard little discs, served cold, with chilled hard pats of butter, and NO syrup. I actually demonstrated to the very nice server, that the pancakes could NOT be cut with a fork. Again - could NOT be cut with a fork! Come on... They're PANCAKES! Not a single bite could be sampled, without the utility of a knife. I am not a small person. I tried three places around the brown discs to acquire a bite. Țhe effort was foreboding enough. Ì surrendered. The scrambled eggs and bacon were edible, though lacking temperature, and uncaring presentation. When the server saw that the pancakes were as fork resistant as a Frisbee, she took the plate to the kitchen manager. He was a nice, apologetic young man, who acknowledged that the pancakes were "Overcooked on one side..." He did offer to make more. I declined. I told him I sincerely appreciated his offer. But the issue was much deeper, than plastic pancakes. As indicated by the lack of clientele in a fairly large restaurant, there was a blinding flash of the obvious. They were squandering the owner's investment. The kitchen staff lacked the skillsets to produce the simplest traditional American Breakfast - and - the wisdom to refrain from placing it up for service. The plating looked SO incredibly bad, that it was obvious that both standards and personal pride were totally absent. The staff was nice. Ignorance is curable. Training, processes, and well established standards can develop nice people into effective business associates. It's not their fault. They have NO leadership directions. The owners have let them down. Țhose owners have had ample signals and time to cure these maladies. They have a model, in their other facilities - that's how / why they opened more than one restaurant. But those owners are apparently oblivious to the signals of absentee management, process inconsistency, and the gross lack of product standards, leading to failure. To those nice people working at Puckett's, I have a sincere recommendation. The best time to find a job, is when you already have one. Your current employer is going to fail; sooner rather than later. They will surely continue with their communications shortfalls. They will not tell you in advance. They will simply let you go when they finally lock the doors. Take care of yourself. FInd an employer who has a distinct business survival plan. Such plans, include coordination, process leadership, training, and holding a team accountable to perform to the standards they were trained to. You're not getting that.
