Want a big thick tastey burger? The parking sucks, very tight and limited due to the other businesses using the same lot. The place is a bit hard to find if its your first time. It is in the parking lot of the Goodwill. The place is clean inside cause its fairly new. If you are alergic to peanuts, dont come it cause they offer peanuts for free while you wait. The regular burgers come with a pretty thick meat patty. I usually order the little burger which is your average size burger. The burgers come with free toppings such as mushrooms, chilie ect.. They have Cajon or regular fires that are pretty good but salty. Some will compare this place to In and Out burgers...this place is more specailize to your needs more. Great burgers made to your order. I like the occasional 5 Guys burger, especially with bacon, grilled mushrooms and Jalapeños. The burgers are grilled to perfection and placed on a tasty sesame seed bun. Beware of the amount of fries you get, order the regular and you will get a medium cup full with over flow in a bag. It's a lot. I go with the Cajun seasoning, they do have regular fries also. There can be a wait sometimes at this location. So grab yourself some complimentary peanuts. Wait or not it's worth it when you get your food. The service is good here at this location. No gripes if you ask for sauce or something you need. There is plenty of space (tables) to eat inside and they even have an outdoor section as well. The downfall is the parking. This was the worst experience, I saw the sign on the front door stating they are open to 10pm, so I went in and ordered a single cheese burger and sate down to wait. Then I saw a sign that they still have peanuts, on request so I did. The peanuts were stale, but Iet it go. What I thought was my cheese burger came up, when I when to site back down and test, they said I had to go outside to eat in 63 degree weather with the homeless person that was bothering people, and the others smoking something other than cigarettes. So I went home, when I sate down to eat my hamburger was cold, and it was not at all what I ordered. I requested a single cheese burger, it was a double and it had no cheese, and it was Ice Cold. The Mayor was there for a ribbon cutting ceremony complete with a prom queen/Miss Hb (??) tiara crowned young lass. What is this, Fresno? For my 2nd 5 Guys trip I did enjoy the fries more than the 1st time, not quite as greasy, but still greaser than I prefer and more so than InO. My burger patties were thicker than my previous trip and even thicker than my dining companions. I guess since they are hand formed they aren't as uniform in size as well as shape? Damn juicy too! And gooey. Seemed to be more seasoned than I remember. Many of the yelps I read criticized the lack of seasoning, maybe they are paying attention to SoCalifornians needs? Came here with Mahesh S to see what the hype was all about. We got the bacon cheeseburger to share (we just wanted to taste) with grilled onions, jalapenos and sauteed mushrooms. We also got a small fries to share. I liked how you can shell peanuts and eat them while you wait because it sure took them a long time to cook the food! I didn't like how they wrapped it in the foil even though you say you're eating it there. It squishes the bun and makes it all soggy and weird. The burger tasted alright but it wasn't like "oh wow, I need to come back here again" type of thing. The fries were nice, I definitely liked them better than In N Out fries. The total for one burger and one small fries was close to $10. I don't think I'd drive all the way to HB just so I can have 5 Guys, but if I was in the neighborhood, I might? Maybe..... I'm not sure about it yet. I was so full after half the burger and half the fries and was really full for the rest of the evening. The picture says it all. Can anyone possibly defend that....burger? Not with a boat, not with a moat, not with the ravenous Beard of Dave C. The Kid wanted a cheeseburger for his birthday dinner, and his favorite burger was always Five Guys'. We are familiar with the menu and prepared to wait the ridiculous wait for a top-quality junkfood experience. If only that's what we'd received.. The thing is, I used to like this place *almost* as much as In N Out, and certainly more than Sonic. The patties used to be nicely cooked, large-ish, and tasted freshly made. Also, in the past when I ordered "everything" (their term for a slew of free optional toppings such as pickles, mushrooms, lettuce, etc), there was actually a *whoa* moment when I'd peel back the wrapper to view a sandwich packed with goodness. Now, "everything" is a technical term for a smear underneath the bottom patty that may contain one sliver of each topping in its entirety. It's still a clean restaurant, I'll give it that. Five Guys is also the longest wait you'll ever endure for a so-called fast food burger, and the most expensive. I can no longer justify spending seven bucks on a Five Guys cheeseburger, if this latest meal here represents the future quality control of this place. Note to Five Guys: perhaps if you got rid of the free peanuts and instead sank more money into your beef patties, you would have a fighting chance in the land of Carl's Jr. and In 'N' Out. Burger (didn't know it was a double) was about $6 and fries was $5. I really like the fries! :) I'm not a real fan of hamburgers but the burger was pretty good. My son was in a crappy mood after his soccer game this morning. The coach was all over his ass but he played his butt off and I was proud of him. Sulking off the field, I reminded him it was 5 Guys day.... That's right....we waited all week for Saturday to come so we could check out the new kid on the block. We got there at about noon and the line was about 20 people long. Parking was a complete nightmare. Why do dudes with gigantic pickup trucks (complete with giant rubber nut sack dangling from the bumper) try to park in tiny compact spaces? They seemed well staffed in anticipation of the big opening week crowds. A gal was handing out menus in line, helping to alleviate the boredom. At the top of the menu was the takeout order phone number. I know, I know....it's a douche-bag move, but I was taking it out any way. UCLA vs. Cal was on so we needed to eat at home and not miss a minute of the game (football fans know it was a waste of time to hurry home). I placed my to-go order over the phone and we were walking out the door with a hot bag of food at the same time we would have ordered at the counter. So..sue me. Fortunately, we live very close and the fries were still piping hot when we got home. They are fantastic. Thick, but not too thick, lots of skin, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The burger was top notch for fast food. Tons of fresh toppings and a great juicy pair of patties. I like a little more seasoning and felt the need to add salt, even with the onions and mushrooms. It was moist and juicy but still lacked enough flavor. Very good, over all. I was disappointed with the hot dog. They split it down the middle and it more like a sandwich. Nothing spectacular. I still hear people debating ... Five Guys or In & Out? Seriously? I don't dislike Five Guys - I actually like them. I don't love them though. They're not better than In & Out. They're different. It's a different format that some may like more than others, and it what I was craving last night - so it's where I ended up. I wanted a burger that I could just grab and go. I wanted to put on a bunch of toppings - sort of like having it your own way and I happened to be up and down Beach last night so it just worked out that way. I didn't want to wait for a table and Five Guys was right there. Did I like the food? Burger was ok in general - Bun didn't seem as fresh as I would have liked but it wasn't like biting into a rock. Good burgers, but hard to compare to In-and-Out. I think a better match up would be Fatburger just because of the toppings. Happy and friendly workers = happy and clean spot. You basically build your own burgers. Everything from Lettuce to Mayo to Jalapeno to Grilled Onions to even A1 Sauce you'll have to request it. Although I didn't see a fried egg option. Just sayinnn' My cheeseburger was a good sandwich. I like how the patty (Regular is double, and Little means single) well seasoned and had some juice to it, but not juice like Jack in the Box heart attack way if you know what i mean. 2 regular orders of cajun fries is literally 2 orders AND a bag of fries. We arrive at Five Guys around 7pm on a Saturday night. Its not to crowded but with the peanuts all over the floor and kids running around it was a little to chaotic for me so we ate outside where no one was at. First off let me mention when you walk in....Large boxes of free peanuts line the walk way, I'm 32 but that was oddly exciting to me! Why did I get so happy about free peanuts? LOL So for some reason I had imagined something else in my head a better selection or something magical, heck I dunno! I felt like I was in a cheap knock off of In & Out with more peanuts and less peoples. So we order. (Takes like 20 minutes to finally get our food) I just ordered a regular cheeseburger with (Jalapenos, Lettuce, and Raw Onions) and we got 2 orders of fries one Cajun and one regular. Finally I shove the burger into my mouth and .............Instantly I recognize this taste, I'll be damn it taste EXACTLY like the Double Del from Del Taco (Which I do like) So I basically swallow the burger...I could have ate another one - It was pretty small. The fries were good to but again nothing special that made them stand out. My Dad on the other hand FREAKED OUT saying the Fries were to salty the hamburger was Sh**ty and just throwing a tantrum like a 5 year old would....I was like WTF?!?! Calm down. Five Guys is good, but not great. If you call yourself a burger connoisseur, you'll inevitably compare it to the infamous In-N-Out. Firstly, the wait. Ahh but In-N-Out is always busy and with lines you say! Humor my anecdote: this last time I visited Five Guys at 11:45am there were only 4 other patrons. And I still waited over 10 minutes. Ridiculous I say! Secondly, the taste. In my honest opinion, a Five Guys burger is 90% of what an In-N-Out is in terms of taste and satisfaction. All American for sure, but a little bland. Thirdly, the price. I said Five Guys is 90% of an In-N-Out, but also nearly 200% the price! My double cheeseburger rang up at $7 and some change. In-N-Out's double double is only ~$3. In-and-Out Burger they are not, they are a good burger place on their own.
