Burgers are pricey but delicious! We come here every 1-2 weeks. They are very generous with the fries and so one order is enough for my kiddo and I. Sometimes the soda is a little watered down, but it's no problem getting a different flavor or just let the employees know. Tables are clean most of the time. They were not busy there wasn't anybody else inside when we came to order? It was so cold in there we decided to eat outside the outside table was filthy. The food is great, but their logistics are awful. I ordered ahead online from my car in the parking lot to avoid standing inside around all the people (it was pretty crowded). I waited until my pickup time, then went inside and found somewhere to stand where I felt safe and waited about 15 minutes as people came in, ordered, got their food and left. I realized something was off when I saw someone else come in and "check in" with the cashier then the cashier shouted her name to the cooks and they started making her order. This is how I learned that even when you order ahead, nothing happens until you arrive AND tell them you're there (aka there is no point to ordering in advance). I then checked in and of course had to wait another 5-10 minutes for my burger. The burger was excellent! However, I'll never get that 30+ minutes of my life back. In all the restaurants I've been to during the pandemic, I've never heard of any process like this and it seems very odd and pointless to me... but now I know! P.S. a "cheese burger" is really a double cheese burger, so don't spend the extra $2 to add a patty... you'll end up with a huge triple cheeseburger (and outrageous cholesterol). read more

I was really happy to eat here! I've been watching my cholesterol and decreasing my consumption of unhealthy food for a good month and now I get some burger time! In lieu of a tofu wrap, I'm biting down on a beautiful burger. I ordered the small burger with everything on it and I'm good to go! The Cajun fries are spectacular. So here is how it goes... I grab the food when it's ready and pump out some ketchup into a cup and sit down. I tear open the bag to find what's likely a 20 oz cup overflowing with fries! So I set my burger in front of me and start munching on fries. Oooooh boy! I could not stop. I was grabbing them by the threes, dunking them in ketchup and slaughtering that French fry village. It was horror! A man's voice cried out from somewhere in the distance. A mother shielded her child's eyes from the grotesque spectacle. The singing of birds came to an abrupt end. It took about three minutes of this carnage for me to REALIZE what I was doing, another minute to stop, and about five minutes of looking myself in the bathroom mirror sobbing before I returned and began to eat my actual burger. Had I been provided some ranch or honey mustard with those Cajun fries, I may be stuck in an endless loop a la Groundhogs Day where I stay there and consume their Cajun fries forever. Peanut Allergy Alert: Do not eat at this place if you are allergic to peanuts! THE CUSTOMERS: We had a total of two adults and two children that went to this restaurant on a weekend. THE LOCATION: The location is right off Gene Snyder Fwy at Brownsboro road at the Summit. The location is in the Summit Shopping Center close to Barnes and Noble. FIRST IMPRESSION: Looks very nice from the outside. Being connected to the shopping center helps its overall look. THE SELECTION: Had a good, simplistic selection. Just like the name states, they serve Burger and fries and that's it. The topping look generous and the fries look good. THE PRICE: The price came out to be $16 for the both of us. That is with one shared drink between my wife, two "little" burgers (which is one beef patty instead of two) and a hot dog for our little girl. THE FOOD: The food came out fairly quick. Right about the time I was coming back to the table from getting drinks, ketchup and napkins, our order number was called. The burger was wrapped up in Aluminum foil and the drinks came in a large cup inside the paper bag. The Burger itself was great. It was juicy and the fresh toppings added to its flavor. The fries were plentiful and were very tasty since they were cooked in peanut oil. I do like "drink control" as you can walk up the the fountain and refill your own drinks. OVERALL: I think this place was great! The food for the money was well worth it and enough to feed my family. Everything was fresh and even the complimentary peanuts made it worth while. There were no less than 10 employees that I could see. 2 taking orders, 6 behind the line, 1 continually cleaning the dining area and 1 that seemed to be doing a little bit of everything. Kudos to these folks below... CASHIER: Chelsea G., was welcoming and genuinely friendly. She also saved me from ordering the regular sized fries offering me the Little Fry instead, plenty of fries for one person. COOKS: All wearing gloves! This was my first visit to a Five Guys and my only expectations were awesome fries, so I heard. I wish it were true...the fries were flavorful yet lukewarm at best, too greasy and soft, not the way I like my fries. My grilled cheese-lukewarm, 3/4 of the way melted cheese and sorta soggy...the food needs some improvement ASAP! I would recommend serving the grilled cheese in something that doesn't allow the steam to make it soggy, cook the fries a little longer and just slow down. It's a bit pricey but the quality of these burgers is high. They have pictures of a lot of well deserved accolades for being the best burger joint and I can attest that I do think they're the best burger place in Kentucky at least. If you want fries, get the Cajun fries and never look back. Every time you order they will overfill your bag with fries to the point where you'll need to take the bag home with you. Your burger, however, is eaten quite fast. There are ketchup and straw dispensers off to the side and old school soda machines that serve random drinks like blue Powerade. HRRMMM. Ok, I'm a little torn here. I'm thinking maybe it deserves another star but even pushing it to three was a stretch and I'm only doing that because my youngest actually ate his entire burger. Decent sized patty with no notable spices and slightly overcooked, variety of toppings is OK, fairly standard sesame seed bun (huh?) and a bag full of handcut fries (kinda soggy, definitely greasy.) My initial thinking is they should be able to cut a couple guys out of this and lower their prices a bit as I'm searching to figure out what strategic offering 2-3 more fellas would have provided. Maybe one guy digs for the potatoes and the other gets the peanuts. Well, if that's the case, I can appreciate them including their laborers but they forgot to put their stock in the back. read more

I had the luxury of living in Southern California for a decade and ate In-N-Out once a week. Moving to Kentucky was a downer because the nearest In-N-Out is in Texas, so I tried 5 guys. Good Hamburgers made how you want it. However, they are very expensive for a "fast food" type restaurant. $8.29 for a cheeseburger, Fries are over $4, and drinks are $2.89. So a combo adds up to over $15. I have been wanting to try out 5 Guys for some time. I was close by today so I decided it was a good time for lunch. Like others have said the service was very good, fast and very friendly. The floor looked clean enough to eat from. The food however was another story. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with assorted fresh toppings and regulars fries. To my surprise the bun was soggy, the cheese not melted and the burger was pink in the middle. The fries were greasy and very salty. And way more than any one person can eat. The burger was just OK. There was no WOW factor which was very disappointing as I expected much more for an almost $12.00 burger meal. There are so many other better burger choices I don't think I'll go back. read more

Great prices with no extra charge for a variety of toppings that they have for the burgers that most places would charge you for. The burgers are grilled up right in front of you. They only cook the burgers one way...well done. Recommend the cajun fries and you just need the "regular" size. I will promise you that the "regular" size will be enough for 2 people. The prices are hardly any more expensive than Mcdonalds/BK/Wendy's. First I'd like to say Im a huge burger guy ! Any kind any style. As far as fast food burgers go this has to be one of the best in area. Coming from Southern California and growing up eating In and Out this comes very close to that. A big mouth full of burger, plenty of fries ( almost too many ) and plenty of options to top the burger off. This is a frequent lunch place for us and it's not just because of the convenience of the location. The burgers hear are killer! I always go for the cheese burger with onion, pickles, mustard and A1. Delicious!! The burgers are juicy but not greasy and very flavorful. The large selection of toppings is amazing and you can get as many as you want. Be careful when you are ordering. If you order a cheese burger that's a double, if you want just one patty then ask for a little cheese burger. The Cajun fries are a must order, jammed packed with flavor and a punch of Spicy. The portion size on the fries is huge! They fill up the cup size you ordered and then throw a ton more in the bag for good measure!! The atmosphere here has a feel of a casual burger joint. The place stays pretty clean including the bathrooms. The only downside is that the staff is sometimes slow and sometimes they don't get the order right but are always willing to fix it. read more

I always love a good burger. Five Guys has a really good ones. Love trying new specialty burgers and new burger joints. Found that most bars have the best, until I came here. But today I am tried their Bacon Cheese Dog. Well the dog it self was good. The bacon was overly cooked, and hard. I like my bacon with charring marks but still flimsy. Very disappointed with this restaurant. Went around 8:20 in the evening, ordered 2 cheeseburgers and fries to go, took the restaurant 35 minutes to get the order ready. No line at the register, restaurant was about 1/3 full. Sat near 2 other couples who were having the same problem. One man said he had to wait 45 minutes for his burger. At 30 minutes went to the register to ask for a refund and was told to sit down and wait for my burger, they refused to give me a refund (at this point I just wanted my money back, not the food). When I asked to see the manager the adolescent working said "can't you see what we got to do here?" If you want long waits, poor customer service, and rude teen employees giving you sass, this is the place for you! But there are lots of other burger joints around to go to and get better treatment. read more
