It has been a long while since I've been to a Five Guys. We were out on a Sunday evening and decided to get a bite to eat; and this was perfect since we were just across the street. I ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, cheese, and mayo. My daughter and I split a regular-sized cajun fries. I'm thankful the lady who took our order reminded us that the regular-sized fries are actually large so we were able to order just one regular. OMG. It was exactly how I remembered it to be. The burger was delectable. The fries were amazing. and yes...I am that person to douse malt vinegar on every fry! Great service. Even better burgers and fries!

When did Five Guys become so expensive and, even worse, so mediocre? Until I forget how good they used to be, this will be my last visit!

Not my best artistic work, but it was definitely a masterpiece!

Burgers are as American as well, America! We all love a chargrilled burger that's juicy and cooked just right, right?! Of course, we do! I've been a faux-vegan/vegetarian/pescatarian for almost three years and in that time, I haven't had any red meat. I remember though, I used to love burgers. Well, I'm back to being a meat-eater now, unofficially, so my first mission was to get my hands on a REAL burger! I had never been to Five Guys before yesterday so, walking in, I got that "new fast food restaurant" fear. You know the kind of anxiety when you nervously walk up to the register to place your order, yet you have no clue what you're doing and don't want to get something you'll regret - yeah, that fear! So I moseyed my way to the register, looked at the menu and settled on a regular cheeseburger with grilled mushrooms and onion, fries, and a drink (I think I did OK, right?!) Well, when I got home, my tummy thanked me! That burger was sooo good that I'm still thinking of it today! It was so tender and juicy. The fries were made Cajun-style and although they were a little salty, they were just what I needed to feel like I was stepping full-force into the dark side (my meat lovers mentality is back!) For my fellow vegetarians, I'm sorry I've deserted you, but I have to do this for me!

    Cheeseburger with an extra patty

I was looking for a delicious cheeseburger that didn't require the need for carbs aka fluffy pillows of softness and decided to try Five Guys. They have two options independent of the need for bread which is wrapping the burger in lettuce or serving in a bowl. I chose the bowl option. I ordered the cheeseburger with an extra patty, extra cheese, mushrooms, sautéed green peppers, sautéed onions, pickles, tomatoes, and romaine lettuce. I wanted to mix A-1 sauce and mayo for a nice unique flavor to top with. I also ordered Cajun fries because I'm truly addicted to the spice combo. When I got the sandwich it was well made but they left off the lettuce. A little annoying but I didn't let that ruin my dinner. I noticed that the mushrooms, onions, and green peppers were on the bottom of the burgers but even when I relocated them to the top I realized that there wasn't much there. There was only one green pepper strip detected, two mushrooms, and not a lot of onion. I do realize that I ordered at the end of the evening so maybe they were running out. The bright side is that toppings like that are free but I would rather pay a bit per topping to ensure they load it up. With the absence of bread you have to go heavy on the veggies. The burgers, itself, were great! Perfectly cooked. My only gripe is that even though I ordered extra cheese they either didn't add it or they added it all together in one part of the burger instead of spreading it out. The top party had nothing on it and that was the perfect place to add the extra cheese. Delicious all the same, I guess it's just an aesthetics thing for me. The fries seasoning was on point, very much delicious. My big complaint there was that the fries were very soggy. They were hot but they were soggy. The brown bag they came in was super moist and the white plastic bag they used to carry the fries in was also very moist from the steam of the fries which trapped in more moisture so instead of a nice crunch I felt like I was eating mashed potatoes. The seasoning saved them. Overall this is one of my favorite places to eat. Their burgers are always amazing and if you can take the time to eat in the store their fries are amazing and plentiful.

I really like the burgers here. The prices bit high but in my opinion is worth it. I haven't been disappointed with my food yet. Even through the pandemic they managed things so well and now that you can actually go inside the building they are still doing it right even when customers don't want to cooperate and come in with out a mask, they will kindly hand you a mask in forcing the rules without making a big deal.

First time at this location and what can I say, it's high. Walking in there's two entrances. It's very clean service is great. Ordered my food and did my order fast. I love their fries it's so good and so much included I ordered a burger and when we got home it was missing cheese in it which is was a bummer but still approved of the sandwich never had issues with my burger. Just have to start checking my orders to make sure it's correct because it sucks to go home and find out the sandwich was made wrong but it's my fault for not checking when I left the spots I don't have any other notes that their service was good and quick to get our food. Parking also sucks because you have to find street parking but otherwise then that I'm sure you can park in a lot near by and walk there. It's also on the corner of the street so you can't miss it.

Who doesn't love a good ole burger?! I am a huge fan of Five Guys. You can tell the burgers are fresh and the portion sizes are HUGE! I have been to their 21st street location numerous times, but am finally getting around to writing a review. My husband and I ordered their burger of course! I ordered mine with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, and jalapeños-I will later regret the jalapeños. I also ordered a medium fry to split with my hubby. I wish I would have just ordered a small because the medium was WAY too big. In total, we paid about $24 (2 burgers, med fry, and a soft drink). The burger itself is so amazing. The ground beef is extremely fresh and the fries are made from hand cut potatoes. We will definitely be back. The service was quick and the food tasted delicious. If you haven't been to a Five Guys before, you will thank me later.

Sadly there aren't many locations in Central Virginia or the Tidewater area - yet. But today had my shot - this one at Naval Station Norfolk. This location is in the food court area and has shared seating with several other places. Today, although busy, there were seats. As for service and food: The staff we spoke to were all nice. No problem at all. I will say, that from the time of my order was placed and the time my meals were given out seemed a bit long. It might have been 12-13 minutes. In my opinion, a bit long for fast food. The other thing that was a challenge was no drink refills. The tea and soda machines are behind the counter. This was a problem since, again, we sat for some time waiting for our food. Maybe they would have filled up our cups as we left, if we asked, but the lines were crazy. So absolutely not an option. No I don't know if all locations are like this but know this location is. Our meals were all hot and seemed freshly cooked. Not like it sat under a heat lamp. Had a real decent flavor. So overall a decent experience. I will try another location sooner or later and I'm sure will visit this location again. So give this place a shot if in the area.

So we pulled up yelp and found fat Phillies. This is what I would call a classic Bodega/hood joint (They have all the flavors of Rap Snacks) that does a great job of serving up a good variety of sandwiches and sides at an affordable price. Now this establishment is housed inside of a convenient store in a strip mall that also has a Chinese food place and a couple of other establishments. This is a typical convenient store with groceries drinks and a couple of casino machines at the other end of the building. We pulled up to the counter as they were shutting down, so unfortunately, the wings weren't available. So we decided to go with the standard Philly cheesesteak, and fries. Sandwiches were ready in about 10 minutes and they were cooked to order. Both of us were very satisfied with the sandwiches. Mine did have a little bit of grissel and tougher meat, but not necessarily something I didn't expect given the price. Overall, this is definitely a place I would likely stop through every now and then just to grab some sandwiches and other items that I can't find in a Whole Foods.

The burgers are absolutely amazing. My favorite was the Greg Brady: a smashed burger topped with house-made mac & cheese, American cheese, and BBQ potato chips. It sounds over the top, but somehow it all works perfectly. A friend enjoyed the Chiflet, topped with applewood-smoked bacon, a sunny-side-up egg, and American cheese. A couple others tried the special burgers of the day, and they were all a hit as well. We all upgraded to double patties, and it was hands-down the best decision.
