What's not to like? The burgers are delicious, the hotdogs are fantastic and they give you more fries than god would serve you in heaven. Seriously. We don't go all that often because there isn't one super close to us (hey, someone open one up where Pancake Cottage used to be and breathe some life back into Sunvet Mall - LOL). It's a tad pricey for what you're buying, but I'll give it to them that they make the price up in an over indulgence of yummy french fries. And the fries are a whole lot better than typical fast food fries. Can I also say, they have the best peanuts around. I really don't see the appeal of the place. It was so hyped up to me and it just fell flat. Burgers are ok and the fries were bland. Gone with friends a few times and really don't order anything except milkshakes there now. Even then I don't since it took 20 minutes to get one, being the only customer in the store. My friends got multitple burgers with fries and such and all I got was a single chocolate shake. The guy up and left halfway in to making it and my friends went out to the car to wait for me. Slower than the other five guys locations and usually pretty packed...I order in advance or else there's at least a 20 minute wait for the food on most occasions and varied times throughout the day. The only complaint I really have about the food that's petty is the raspberry ice tea never works properly and is always disgusting tea water. The Little Bacon Cheese Burger at $5.59, a Cheese Dog at $3.99 add a small Cajun Fries for $2.99 with a regular drink at $2.19 rounded out the lunch order. What I learned was if you ask for "NO Topper" with the fries they do NOT dump additional fries in your bag, now why would you order it that way?, well if your Doctor or Wife told you not to eat this kind of food or you don't like waste then that option if for you. Food was as expected, the staff is very friendly and energetic. Place is kept clean and you see them moving to tables to wipe them down. The patrons range of people doing take-out, to families, couples, to groups of guys and girls of all ages just grabbing and gabbing. I'm someone who never eats a steak or a burger unless it's black and blue. I'm talking as rare as possible- bloody in the center. This is why it's pretty incredible that I thoroughly enjoy a Five Guys burger. They are not rare.. you can't order them rare. They only come WELL DONE. Both literally and figuratively- the burgers are "overcooked" by typical standards but I'll be damned if they aren't still juicy and delicious. They are some well done burgers. As for the second most important item at a burger joint- the fries. Five Guys is notorious for giving out a generous portion of fries even if you order a small. You get a good amount and some of the fries are delicious and crispy. Unfortunately at least half of them are not. This is because, unlike the burgers, the fries are not cooked enough. You will usually find at least half of the fries to be soggy and undercooked with no crunch what so ever. It's an easy fix (just fry them longer). But I've been telling the people at Five Guys this for years and they're still churning out soggy, undercooked fries. Yeah getting twice the amount of fries is cool- but I'd much rather get half the amount and have them all be thoroughly cooked and crispy. Fix the fries and I'll gladly give this place a 4.5/5. As it stands now, with the fries as they are- I can't go higher than a 3.5. The burgers are delicious though and the staff is always friendly- just fix those fries. read more

I ordered through Doordash last night. First and LAST time. Ordered two cheeseburgers one with bacon one without. Both came with bacon mine A1 sauce which I did not order. My husband's with some kind of spicy sauce didn't order it that way. The fries ordered large size plain got regular size cajun. The topper was obviously the driver had another order to deliver out of the way of us first so stuff was not hot. French fry bag was all greasy. DISGUSTING. Never again. Still waiting to hear back from DoorDash.. Final thing was instructed to leave on bench next to my condo door. It was left on the ground in front of my door. I've been going to Five Guys for nearly 15 years now since they splashed down on Long Island, my old inception location was on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. I've kind of fallen out of Five Guys since I moved out east but I've given this location a few go's now. Overall, very good experience here and positive consistency. If you're not familiar with Five Guys style, it's a grease shop burger that uses peanut oil (so if you are allergic to peanuts, this is a defaulted no go). I mean the term "grease shop" where that is a pro to me but could be a con for others, but do follow. The standard burger here is solid- it's two patties of a decent size and will probably suffice the biggest of dudes. There's plenty of times where I only get a burger and it's good enough for me. Fries are decent here though as they overload the bag- you get your moneys worth but you also get quite a bit of a mess. Toppings are built into the price for the burger and there's pretty much something here for everyone. If you're some kind of a psycho who just gets hamburger with buns and nothing on it then you do get gipped in this pricing. My go to here is typically the standard burger with pickles, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and A1 steak sauce. It's beautiful art. The appearance of this place is fine, they all pretty much look the same. During COVID times, you don't get peanuts while waiting, and the seating arrangements here are spaced enough but I mean I typically take this food to go anyway. Decent options for ordering online, ahead of time, door dash, etc. if that is your type of thing. This Five Guy's compared to anyone I have gone to on Long Island or in NYC has the least amount of staff on. I don't really understand, though my dealings with people who work here is pleasant. People have mentioned orders being wrong but I've had 0 issues. There's usually someone running the register, and one person running the grill/fryer. When the person who runs the register is freed up they will assist in the orders but I've never seen more then 3 people here at a time. As a disclaimer I usually go here during lunch hours 12-1 PM. Wait times can be a bit lengthy if they are busy but that's the nature of being in the business of "made to order". Overall, I would continue to frequent here. Oddly enough the competition is more fierce in Nassau County for this style of burger but with Bobbys Burgers RIP and no Smash Burger in reasonable distance this place holds the title. If you're into getting a kids meal single patty for a similar price then Shake Shack will probably suffice... Just do not put this bag down anywhere but the floor in your car. read more

Five guys is a legit place. I think there burgers are great. The juicy burgers dripping of grease, with melted cheese, and to add some spice like jalapeno peppers makes this a Five star burger. Upon waiting on line to order, everything seems chaotic with the cashiers yelling numbers of patties back to the line cooks, but everything is well organized and efficient. The burgers are double pattied, unless you order a 'little burger' which is a one patty, regular sized burger...nothing little about it. There's plenty of toppings to add on for free, which is awesome. Nothing fancy about the burgers, just your typical old fashioned style burger - but delicious! Fries are super greasy and salty, it's hard to stop eating but then you regret it later when you get a stomachache. Portion sizes are large and easily split between two people, not everyone needs there own. Milkshakes were very thick but nothing special about those either. They have the fancy coke machines where you can pick from many kinds or create your own flavor by mixing. Food took about ten minutes and was served hot. Oh, and can't forget about the free peanuts in barrels upon entering the store...and all the peanuts you step on while walking through. Definitely doesn't appear to be the cleanest of places, and definitely don't recommend visiting if have severe peanut allergies! read more

I've eaten their food at least ten time since my first review but I have never eaten in the restaurant. This changes the experience for the better. The fries are so hot that eating them becomes a bit of a daredevil act. The same is true of the burger. Bit into it too quick and you'll have a mouthful of burning hot meat that you don't quite know what to do with it. And although I though the idea of shelling peanuts to eat while I waited for the order was silly, it did add something to the experience. Sounds silly I know but it did make the occasion more "festive?" If you haven't done the "dine in" bit I recommend it. Seems silly but it worked for me. read more

Nothing to get excited about, people. I don't understand the hype.. 5 Guys to me is nothing much better than fast food. Maybe when it was between fast food chains and 5 Guys, they might have put out something distincitve, but the times have changed. Wow, I can get a few toppings not usually available in McD's (jalapeños and green peppers are pretty much it) but I don't really notice a better burger here. It's also EXTREMELY greasy. By the time you're done, you can almost see through the paper bags the ridiculous servings of fries are doled out in. For the price they charge, I'd rather spend the extra few bucks and get a burger at a local joint (see the Burger Shack in Coram, or Bobby's in Smithaven - 2 places that serve a more diverse menu of burgerlry). The menu is also more barren than the badlands - I get it, you're a burger spot - but really, it's pretty sad when you only serve burgers and dogs. People with peanut allergies practically can't even step foot inside this place, another bummer. read more

I was scrolling through my past reviews and a 3 star review for Five Guys caught my eye. After eating here yesterday, I think my opinion has changed, because I LOVE five guys! Yes, sometimes, if you eat too much, you might feel a little sick and gross afterwards. But, if you eat in moderation, you have nothing but a great meal ahead of you! I love the free peanuts at the door(good ones too) and their very sweet oreo milkshakes. They are nothing but pure sugar, but that doesn't mean they taste bad! Their fries are addicting and salted very well, and as for the burgers... They are amazing! The bacon is always crunchy, the bread is always soft, and the meat is just all around tasty!:) read more

This is my first time visiting a Five Guys. I had heard about it from people who were from the East Coast and figured it was time to give it a try. The burger was great, it's fantastic that all the toppings are free. I got mine with everything, super awesome. The fries were crispy and had lots of good flavor. The regular size was probably a little bit too many fries, next time I'll get a small. The milkshake was also really good, and all the toppings are free, I love that. I had a cherry and chocolate milkshake, delicious. The cherry flavor was really fantastic. They also have free peanuts while you wait. All in all a satisfying experience. read more

Came to the Selden location to fix my Five Guys Fry habit. I brought my sister along as it would be her first time. We LOVED it! We sat and ate there. We even got to indulge in the free peanuts! Of course I stayed veggie with only fries & peanuts, but my sister is feening for their "Big Juicy Burgers". It seems that they used fresh ground beef, not the frozen stuff.
