Unseasoned wings with mango habanero sauce.

We sat outside and it was nice. The breeze the people was perfect setting . Emma was super nice and I felt bad sending things back inside and tried to reassure it was not her fault the food wasn't up to part. The wings had no seasoning at all. The flavor was the spicy sauce. The margarita was sour undrinkable. My chkn sandwich was cold. Wrapped it for home. My husband's burger the potatoes and fries was the perfect meal. Stick with burgers.

Molten Lava Cake (minus the molten lava)

Burger Bistro was an interesting experience, the service took awhile. A waitress came over relatively quick, however everything after took a long time. We waited about 45 minutes for the entrees to come out, all the food tasted great and was presented well. The waitress we had was pleasant and was doing her best, she was prompt and brought us everything we needed, the food also came out exactly as we ordered it. The ambiance of the restaurant was a similar to that of a pub and had a grungy look to it, they sat us at a large table with plenty of room. Finally we order dessert which took another 30 minutes to arrive and was by far the worst part of the experience. We ordered bread pudding, the brookie sundae and the molten lava cake. All three desserts came with whipped cream which ended up being sour, were not sure if the whipped cream was expired or just left out for too long but we informed the waitress and she just apologized and said she'd look into it. The bread pudding and brookie sundae were otherwise fine however the molten lava cake was a complete let down. As shown in the picture the lava cake was about the size of a Little Bites brownie and didn't have any hot fudge inside. We probably won't be returning but it's definitely worth a one time try if you're looking to have a good burger. I would stop there and avoid the dessert.

    Buffalo Traditional Wings

I visited this restaurant when I went to Port Jefferson. The Buffalo Wings were good and the Bistro Burger was delicious. The burger was well prepared and each topping completed it even more. I enjoyed my burger with the potatoes. I wasn't impressed with the Cajun Fries and it was over seasoned. I enjoyed my drink that I ordered. I had the Irish Lemonade. It was very tasty and I was satisfied with my meal and the drink. The customer service was nice and the waitress was very attentive. The restaurant wasn't crowded and they placed nice music. I would come back if I'm ever in the area.

A handful of us got there right before the kitchen was closing. Generally, I never want to enter a restaurant right before the kitchen is closing , as I feel it's insulting to the workers. The server was super friendly about it. She informed us that as long as we got our in before the kitchen would be perfectly fine. The burgers were fantastic as was the service.

Had the BEST veggie burger here. I love that they have an extensive menu of their own burgers, or the option to build your own with different types of buns, sauces, cheeses, etc. you can upgrade your fried onions for a large variety of different sides including steamed veggies or roasted potatoes. I topped my veggie burger with mozzarella and pesto aioli and asked for a sesame bun. It was so good I went the following week and got the same meal but with the potato's which were incredible. 10/10!

    Cesar and rock shrimp

We went on a Saturday night around 6 it was definitely busy but there was zero wait time for the table. Note there were definitely a number of small children there. Even the bar area was popping. Excellent burgers we tried the jalapeño jack and the bacon jack. Both superb ingredients in the meat and toppings on the side to arrange however you please. For apps we also got the side Cesar which accidentally came out as a full on dinner salad, lettuce fresh, croutons hard and thick Cesar dressing on the side. We also delved into the rock crusted shrimp no complaint. Also note the French fries serving size is definitely meant for 3-4 people. I can't remember if it said that on the menu.

My sister was in town and wanted to take her out. I've never been in this place so I decided to try it out. The ambiance is just right -- cozy. Here's what we ordered for starters: - buffalo wings - truffle parmesan fries - crusted rock shrimp w/ sriracha mayo Entree: - bacon jack burger: beef mixed with Monterey jack cheese topped with applewood smoked bacon w/ fried onion strings - pizza margarita burger: beef patty topped with fresh mozzarella, grilled San Marzano tomato, roasted garlic aoili w/ fried onion strings - southwestern burger: seasoned turkey patty topped with horseradish cheddar, mushrooms, onions & salsa w/ onion strings - gin fix: sapphire gin, St. Germain, club soda & lime wedge Everything was excellent. We had nothing to take home because we came hungry af. I am definitely coming back!

"Pizza Margherita Burger" (Beef patty topped with fresh mozzarella, grilled San Marzano tomato, roasted garlic aioli)

Gourmet Burger Bistro is a gourmet burger and craft beer bar that opened in Port Jefferson, New York in June 2008. It was founded by chef Michael Napoli. The chef had the idea of opening a restaurant that operates like a steakhouse... a steakhouse that focuses on burgers that is. Each day the GBB has their beef freshly ground at Janowski's Hamburgers in Rockville Centre. Customers can enjoy a wide variety of gourmet burgers dressed with fancy toppings and sauces, or they can build their own burger. In addition to the signature burgers, the bistro also makes various sandwiches, fries, fried onion strings, salads, soups, wings, and bar bites. GBB also boasts an impressive list of craft beer on draught, wine, craft cocktails, and spiked milkshakes. My wife and I visited Gourmet Burger Bistro in October 2018. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary on Long Island with a private limousine tour of the North Fork Wine Trail. We discovered GBB while exploring all of the quaint shops in Port Jefferson and decided to stop for lunch. I ordered the "Pizza Margherita Burger" (Beef patty topped with fresh mozzarella, grilled San Marzano tomato, roasted garlic aioli) with a side of fried onion strings. It was fantastic!! My wife ordered the "Build-A-Burger Salad" and chose Chicken as her meat patty choice. She really enjoyed it! I washed my food down with a beer flight that featured Lexington Brewing's "Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale", Revolution Brewing's "Needs More Flair" (Pale Ale), Newburgh Brewing's "MegaBoss IPA", and DuClaw Brewing's "Sweet Baby Jesus!" (Porter). The latter was my favorite. We both really enjoyed our lunch at GBB and would definitely stop in again on a future visit to Port Jefferson.

Smelled good so we went inside. Great service. My Gunnies burger was perfect with crunchy fried. Steve ordered a steak salad... it was outstanding. "Till then I'm waiting in the port of lonely hearts Watchin'…read morefor your topsail on the sea Prayin' that my ship of love will come To the port of lonely hearts where I will be" (Johnny Cash) Zero complaints at all about Port Bistro & Pub. The food and service were great, and I want to acknowledge our server Christine, who was a real joy to interact with. We stopped in for a Friday lunch. I ordered a salad and one of the soup specials. My Burrata Salad was $14 for a big portion of mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and basil topped with a big hunk of burrata cheese, roasted peppers and a balsamic glaze. The salad was excellent, especially the creamy decadent Burrata. Half of it came home with us. My soup was a cup of Mediterranean Lentil for $6. It came in a bowl-sized portion with a big hunk of fresh Italian bread. Both were great, and I loved how the soup was served piping hot and not tepidly lukewarm like so many places serve their soups. My wife ordered an Eggplant Parmigiana Flatbread, and this is where Christine displayed her customer service skills. She told us the restaurant had run out of Eggplant the night before and ran back to the kitchen to see if there was a new supply ready for today. She came back and said it hadn't been fully prepped yet, so it wasn't available, but would we like to try Cauliflower Parmigiana instead? That sounded intriguing to us, and we agreed. The flatbread that came out ($16) was delicious. Big nuggets of sauteed Cauliflower with cheese and marinara sauce on a flatbread. It tasted so good, we vowed to try making our own Cauliflower Parm at home. Lunch ran around $40 after tax and tip, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Port Bistro & Pub.

We read a recent review where someone proclaimed the owner to be nasty & unfriendly (sure, I am paraphrasing). Those types of reviews are generally emotionally charged and written by plebs I find. More on that toward the end. Pulling up to a rather unassuming east end Long Island small shopping plaza drenched in rain; opening the door, you are taken back to a semi rustic and dim interior. Perfectly elegant in its bucolic charm- with nice lounge music playing. It is a sit where one likes atmosphere. This is meant with the utmost of respect and candour. We were greeted kindly by the proprietoress (Jacqueline), and handed pleasantly robust binders with the wine list and food. Deciding to treat this in the more European café type, we had glasses and charcuterie. I, the Sagrantino, and her the Kerner. Jacqueline was vocally pleased with our interesting choices. The night drew on, more wine ensued, more food, multiple conversations, and I completed reading through each page and wine choice...finding much to be recognised and appreciated (Kirwan, Moric, Georg Breuer to name but a few) At the end of the night, I asked Jacqueline to pick an appropriate nightcap. She not only delivered, but gave us a wonderful story including the provenance and her experiences - ultimately, the word genius came up more than once. To wit, there was nothing here but an exceptional experience with a like-minded wine enthusiast. I felt welcomed and in the frith of old kin. Nasty, belligerent, dullard atmosphere- indeed not.
