It was the first time I visited five guys. Once I walked in, I realized that I need to adjust my expectations. The setting, atmosphere not very appealing. As a member of this community, and a member of the food service industry, I believe it is very important morally for people in the food service industry to defend and protect customers from potential dangers to their food...This restaurant has a General Manager that is a danger to your food. If the General Manager of this restaurant is named Eric and he stands about 5'3, avoid this place. Part of the process that 5 guys does to ensure that their fries are properly made is that they clean the fries. This is no secret, it's how all fries of this style are made...What is a secret is that this General Manager has been CAUGHT red handed using an old and broken mop handle to stir the fries in the water to "clean" them.... This information was brought forward to Five Guys corporate, as well as the franchise owner that owns a lot of the restaurants in the Charlotte area...What did they decide to do? They decided to move Eric to another store for a little while (while I quit because of my moral obligation to my customers) and then brought him back after they thought enough time had passed that people would forget that their general manager uses old broken mop handles with customers food. read more

I manage the Speedway store across from the Five Guys at Times Corners and Jefferson. I had a horrid experience with an employee of the 5 Guys who came in and destroyed merchandise and a display in a fit of rage....she was wearing her uniform, so it wasn't like I had to guess where she was from. The manager acted like she would comply when reached out to, however, when it came down to trying identity the employee, the manager wasn't helpful at all. If she doesn't care about the conduct of their employees WHEN IN UNIFORM AT OTHER BUSINESSES, I'm sure there are other things that are not of concern when it comes to their employees behavior. That girl was purposeful in her destructive behavior, and I'm upset that the manager does not care about the community or her store's image enough to reach out and get to resolve this. Good burgers, horrible fries and horrible pricing. What gives with the whole Five Guys thing? Sure the burgers are good. Whoopitty Doo! There are tons of places I can get a good burger for almost $8...and those places probably have crispy fries. Seriously...who cares about 18 pounds of fries when they're soggy? I really want to understand the hype...but I just don't get it. My advice is to soak your potatoes in cold water to get the starch out, then fry them in some hot oil until they're nice and crispy. This Five Guys is right near my office and sometimes you just want a good burger, you know? There are a plethora of fast food chain's in the area and for basically the same money you can go here. After a little confusion in the parking lot of Kohls I wheeled into the space barely hitting the lady with the teacup anklebiter on one of those leashes that let them run around freely. That would have sucked. Entered the restaurant right at noon and the place was packed but the line was short and we walked right up and ordered. One thing to note is that it's FREAKIN LOUD in there, they have the music turned up crazy loud, so much so that you can't hear and I had to keep asking the young girl behind the counter who must have failed her public speaking class to repeat herself. I got the regular cheeseburger which, as always was delicious. I try not too load it up too much with extras since it makes the burger uneatable. Five Guys does a great job of putting together a burger that stays together as long as you don't put too much stuff on it. I' m a standard Mayo, Ketchup, Lettuce, Tomato, and Grilled Onion (after writing that down it seems like a lot huh?) fan. I always wind up getting talked into french fries here although there is no way possible someone can eat all of them. The "regular" is enough for 4 people IMO and Five Guys should consider pairing the portion size down....I think they'd sell more by charging less and toning it down. I'll be back since it's a good value IMO for a better burger than you can get elsewhere from the fast food chains. read more

I got a little cheeseburger, a hot dog, and cajun fries. The hot dog was the best. I liked the seasoning on the fries.

We stopped in at FiveGuys for lunch today and I mentioned that i've only been to FiveGuys once before and wasn't happy with the veggie sandwich, because it was cooked in heavy grease and fell apart when i tried picking it up! the manager at this location ( Amherst, transit Road store number 1354) came up to our table and offered me a five dollar gift card for my past experience! Five guys is usually a reliable place. The key word being usually. The veggie burger was literally inedible.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to award zero stars. Why people rave over this establishment completely eludes me. I can only imagine that the majority of these folks have extremely low standards. The first time I had placed an order, I'd requested a bacon cheeseburger, plus mushrooms. When requesting that the burger be cooked rare, I was informed that they only cook medium-well. So, one can only assume that they have little faith in their cuts of meat, which requires cremation to be edible. I could have had the same - or better - results for far less cost at a fast-food establishment. So, deciding to give it a shot, I completed the order transaction. Yet they further managed to disappoint, because the mushrooms ordered were, in fact, onions. So I vowed "Never again." Now, over a year later, I tried it again, but this time with a hot dog - one with cheese, bacon and mushrooms. After all, how can you mess up a hot dog? Still again, they did not fail to screw it up: Hot Dog, Cheese and Bacon? Yes. Mushrooms? Not a trace. Is it a language, skill or hubris issue? Unbelievable. And all of this for nearly $8. Realizing that I was punished for not having followed my instincts, I will never order ever again from this place. And this time, I mean it. For those of you who love it . . . I waited 15 minutes for my burger and fries. $11.00-$13.00 is to much money for just a burger and fries. Over Priced, fries were to salty, I didn't get enough fries. Absolutely disgusting! My roommate and I both had soggy burgers dripping wet in grease! The fries were cold, over cooked and brown! She was sick for 2 days after eating the fries, and when I got to the bottom of the container for my fries, there was a burnt mushroom looking thing and it made me want to get sick! Not only overpriced.....40.00 for 3 burgers and 1 reg fry.......for 40.00 I could feed 2 families elsewhere.....but of more importance piss poor service.....ordered 3 burgers online and put cheese on two that weren't suppose to have cheese and forgot to put the third burger in the bag! so when I got back I was missing a burger and called them, they acknowledged the mistake and refused to run me out the burger down the street and said I had to come back in to make THEIR mistake right......tried to give me an extra fry as consolation and almost forgot the third burger again had I not checked the bag.....so now 45 min later I finally get back to my shop and now my burger that came on the first order was good and cold with cheese I didn't want on the burger as well as cold soggy fries.......all because they SCREWED UP! and this is not the first time, they always screw orders up and apparently they can't read there off the online check sheets!! We live in Chattanooga and frequent Hamilton Place Mall on a regular basis. You have a Five Guy's at 2020 Gunbarrel Road on the outskirts of the Mall. Your Restaurant's have a good product and the staff is quick to take your order and the overall experience is usually good. Now with all that said your prices have been going up and up since remodeling a year or so ago. Today at lunch time 12:00 P.M. we entered the above Five Guy's and observed the the $7.99 price for our burgers then abruptly left the business. Good food however overpriced for a luncheon meal. Our usual order of two burgers, fries and two medium drinks would have been close to $27.00 which in our opinion is overpriced. We also always place a couple of dollars in the tip jar for your wonderful employee's who work so hard. We drove to a nearby Outbacks where we dined on steak and our meal also included salads for nearly the price of eating at Five Guy's.You prices have reached the point where we will no longer eat at your restaurants on a regular basis as we have done in the past. I normally enjoy this place as I was recently introduced to it. However, my experience yesterday was not so good. All of their sodas were out. I let the girl up front know what was going on and she said I'll fix it. What does she do fix one! Not the one I asked for either. I waited 10 minutes and after no one came back out I got something else-NOT what I wanted. By the time I was done eating they still HAD NOT fixed anything. If this is the kind of lazy staff that will be there everyday then I will not be back. I pay to eat and drink what I ordered not what's available. Very disappointed and I never saw a manager either. I never asked I was so ticked off. Instead of taking my drink that I paid for with me I had to throw away and go to store and pay for another one, one that I wanted. I work in Rock Hill SC. I have been going to this location since they've opened up. I loved going there to get my normal BLT wrap (no bread). I went here so much to the manager and some employees knew who I was. They would say, "is this .....?" That made be feel special. You go to an establishment so much that they know your name and order. Who wouldn't want to go to a place like that. Yes, exspensive but the service was wonderful, until two weeks ago. I ordered the same thing, BLT wrap with grilled onions/peppers and mayo on, not to the side. I get there and paid for my food. In the car driving and the mayo wasn't already put on. I called the store to speak to the manager (Eric), and he was so freaking rude! I said sir I'm not trying to get a free sandwich, I just wanted you to be aware of this. So I told him I will call the corporate office and file a complaint. So, a co-worker of mine's called in an order yesterday. The same thing happened to her. This time as she was getting her peanuts and leaving,(yes she paid already) he told her she couldn't take them out the store, that it was stealing. Really???? She had to be a customer who sat down and ate to be able to get the peanuts. He was going to call the cops! I said wow. So she also put in a complaint againts this rude manager. What happened to the nice one? So since most of our employees go there for lunch, the word has been spreaded. It's more than 400 employees in this office. Be very careful how you treat your customers, no matter the color of their skin because, you never know who your entertaining. Great food, high prices, rude manager (Eric). He needs to take some more training....Corporate offered to send me a $25 gift card. I told them that's not why I was calling. I was calling for the poor service I received as a valued customer of Five Guys in Rock Hill SC by the manager Eric.
