Went on a Monday eve around 5pm for a hamburger, fries and shake. Waited 40+ minutes for food.. dine in. Hamburger was just okay, fries were so over salted could not eat. Have eaten at other Five Guys in two different states and thought food was good. I realize this is a new restaurant but food should taste the same at all locations. Will not eat at Coeur d'Alene, ID location again. Choose elsewhere, especially paying $32 for 2 hamburgers, fries and a shake. Food was sub par and WAY too salty. 5 Guys is pretty off the beaten path for a resident of the South Hill. There are only two locations, either Spokane Valley or Newport at "The Y." We had an opthomology appointment mere blocks from the Valley location and decided to drop in. The decor matched that of a favorite of ours from California, In and Out. We each ordered a burger one order of fries and shakes. The burgers were very fresh and delicious. Double meat is a standard order. The single order of fries was more than enough for two and went unfinished. My strawberry shake was the best I've had in 66 years, with real strawberry chunks throughout. A few things wrong with the experience of eating at the restaurant. 1. The food was not up to my family and i's standard 2. The associate that is supposed to put the Cajun spice on the fries decided to tell my mother to mix the fries in the Cajun spice. 3.The tone that one of the associates had with my mother was rude and disrespectful. 4. I'm going to have to say that 5 Guys has dropped down a notch in my book. The burger really seemed to have lacked something this time around and it took quite a while for my order to be ready even though there were 3 people waiting. One of the employees that served me my shake got his before mine, but perhaps he put his order in before I did? I had my milkshake almost drank by the time food was ready. I like it fresh but I've been served faster when it was busier. Even though it was slow, every single table was visibly dirty. Not once did anyone come to wipe them down the entire time I was there and there was no cleaner spray bottle for me to do it myself. Also, the milkshake cup, which is considerably smaller than soda and twice the price, was only filled 3/4 full without whipped cream. IMHO, there are better places to spend $15 a person. read more

Jalapenos taste good but are hardly spicy. I guess in bland Spokane, Jalapenos are mouth-burning. Their milkshakes are great as are the free shelled peanuts. What sucks? Their fries do. Have you ever wondered what fried mashed potatoes taste like? Here is the place to find out. Very soft and extremely greasy and salty. Nasty! They will give you a ton, but that is only because they hate you. They want you to have a nasty taste in your mouth when you stroke out. Ever since like 2012, I've been a somewhat regular customers of 5 guys. This particular place used to be on par with the rest, but it definitely gone down hill in the last year. I'm not sure if all of 5 guys are getting worse or if it's just this place. It's still a pretty good tasting burger, but the taste and quality has gone down while the prices have gone up. It's now like $17 and change for a standard burger and the smallest size fry. If you're paying that much, it should be great. read more

The diner was empty no tables, no peanuts on the floor, no customers, personnel looked bored it was kinda depressing... Covid has a strangle hold on us... they were tho very courteous, fast to make the food, when we got home the food was dynamite! A little spendy but you get an overwhelming amount of fries! And they are so good it's hard to stop eating them... ruined my dinner I just wasn't hungry after a great lunch! Going to a Five Guys never fails! Ive been visiting Five Guys since 2008 in the DC area. Their burgers have a distinct deliciousness! No fillers, no preservatives, cooked as your order. Natural cut fries cooked in peanut oil are amazing but this time, I did not order because having a burger was a cheat enough for me right now (one bun - for convenience; next time I'll see if they have Lettuce leaves to sub for buns). Also, I won't feel as guilty sharing a Salted Caramel shake with my partner. (I can't resist anything Salted Caramel!) Friendly, fast service and clean dining area! Five guys has been a fav for me not only in the DC area, but also Texas and Hawaii. Visiting this Spokane one is no different... they do a great job with perfect consistency! read more

Delicious food but not so great service from most of the staff. They have some incompetent teenagers working there that don't get much right. Tonight for instance, went in and ordered a meal for myself and for my daughter....they charged me for the bacon cheeseburger I ordered and gave me a burger without bacon. I have always loved going to 5 guys in the past for a good tasty burger made the way I like it, but my experience last night left me questioning if I will go back again. The first thing I noticed when I got my cheeseburger was the buns were overcooked and hard, but with the minor complaint of having very little lettuce on it, it was for the most part tasty, until I suddenly bit into something in the last part of the burger that was extremely hot, and left my mouth burning. When I took apart the burger I found specifically placed jalapenos along the edge of the underside of the burger, not the side they put the condiments on. I can't help but feel that maybe this was purposely done by someone in the kitchen, and I wonder if it's because I gave them no "tip" when I paid for my food. Now normally when I go out to a sit-down restaurant I do tip generously 15 to 20% depending on lunch or dinner, but in the fast food environment of restaurants like these, where there is no service to a table, I do not tip. And I know that the employees are all making at least $14.50 an hour which is the minimum wage here in Washington State. But this leaves me wondering if this was possibly a retaliatory thing someone did. As to the rest of my visit, the fries were the usual non crispy limp type of fries I expect from 5 guys, but I was surprised that the tables were all dirty to various degrees. My daughter was so excited that we found a Five Guys in Spokane. We were in town for the PNQ volleyball from Texas. She literally inhaled her sandwich and was in her happy place. Then she devoured half of mine once we got back to the hotel. The food taste just as yummy as it taste in Texas. Everything taste fresh and the fries were freshly cooked of course. The Five Guys experience is a fairly homogenous one, and perhaps that's why I like it so much. Whether I walk into a location in windswept, snow covered Spokane, or stumble in off a stifling sidewalk in Southern California, I can, with confidence, order and receive the same food to the same level of quality and service standards anywhere. This location is a bit of a trek from the freeway, meaning that it's far enough back you can't see it from the road. It wasn't at all busy when I went In around lunchtime on a Wednesday afternoon last month. The wait time was longer than I would have expected anywhere else, and the bacon cheeseburger with grilled mushrooms was an all too welcome taste of the familiar. Living over the border in Bonner's Ferry, the fast food options are extremely limited, even depressing. The bright and cheery red and white atmosphere, with the mixed smells of the free peanuts and cooking meat were wonderful. The catalog of classic rock hits playing over the sound system only served to top off the whole experience; a bit of home away from home. I will definitely be back, and hopefully often. read more

I'm hard to impress, but this restaurant has managed to impress me every single time. I thought I'd never say this, but Five Guys really is the closest thing to my all-time favorite, In-N-Out, which we don't have in Washington, unfortunately. Just like In-N-Out, the menu is very short and simple, and there are no freezers. This guarantees fresh, made-to-order food, and that just makes a huge difference. I also love the fact that all the toppings are free (grilled onions and mushrooms are my personal favorite), as well as free peanuts while waiting for the order. Now, the price is a little higher than your usual fast food/burger places, but I'll pay more any day for better quality, never frozen, fresh food. My husband and I each had a small cheeseburger and fries (neither of which are actually small, and we couldn't finish the fries) and drinks for just over $20. In my book, that's fairly reasonable. And one of these days, we'll try to leave some space for a milkshake...but that'll be hard. In sum, I highly recommend this place. I hope they'll open more locations soon. read more

Wow, do not know what all the fuss is about! Four out of the four of us gave it a "meh." Burgers were kind of tasteless and very messy. I couldn't pick out any flavors of bacon, mushroom or onions. Needed salt/seasoning. The buns were soft and soggy(hence the mess). The fries that are supposed to be "the best" were just like any other homestyle fry at any other restaurant.
