JR. Cheeseburger and Little Cajun Fries
    Catelyn H.

If I'm looking for a quality fast food burger, then I'm going to Five Guys! This location is well maintained and fully staffed. The staff are kind and are prompt to get you your order! At this visit I enjoyed the jr. cheeseburger "all the way" and I paired it with the Cajun fries! Everything was cooked fresh to order so I had no worries that by the time I got home that it would still be enjoyable. If you've never been to five guys I do caution that the serving sizes are large, so order appropriately!

I fully renovated an updated store, managed by a crack team of hamburger makers, that will do it your way anyway, with any toppings. I'm pretty particular about my burgers, and this is the best burger shop in Summerville bar none. Johnny was there to help me order my first burger just the way I wanted it and it's been good every single time I came in.

No wonder the place is nearly empty at noon

Which of you guys is in charge of the bacon? wife ordered a BLT and the bacon was hard and I mean hard and low quality with a lot of fat like a hard candy inedible. Wife was not happy I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and the same thing, that bacon was from a day or two ago. Which of you guys in charge of the onions? consider being more generous rather than doing a monthly drawing One star for the fries and another for the coke Not coming back, my expectations were based on some reviews and you guys just don't make the cut.

Pit bulls in a restaurant, hippies, useless manager

Since my northern Virginia days, I've been a perpetual fan of Five Guys. I can't place myself firmly in the "good" camp on the Summerville Five Guys, though. The food is inconsistent, and unlike the other Five Guys, they don't have milkshakes. That would be okay if the manager didn't rudely say "no" to customisation requests which other Five Guys have no problem doing. There was an incident, earlier this year, in which two hippies brought their two pit bulls into the store, with "service animal" clothes on them. Upon close inspection, it was revealed that they were "emotional support" animals, which aren't really service animals at all. Those dogs were dangerous and had no business being in that store (also a health violAtion), but when I respectfully brought this to the attention of the manager, explaining the faux service animal thing, he spoke to hippies and allowed the dogs to remain. Totally unacceptable.

For $16.47 it can all be yours. Talk about over charging.

Wow, the cost of food has gone up as the quantity and quality has gone down. This is what $17.00 looks like from a realistic view. So sad that Five Guys used to be renowned for its overflowing fries and fantastic burgers that it has come to meager portions for single serving to get the buyer to up size to the larger size. Very disappointed in what it has become. Also, of the TWO boxes of bulk peanuts, one was empty and the other box was all stale. Another miss in my book. I hadn't been here for a long time due to the changes and I guess it hasn't made a difference. Next time I'll get better food and good portions at Culver's right down the road. Also they recognize the military by offering us 10% without asking. I'm very humbled by any restaurant that offers this recognition since many families are helped by this small jester of appreciation.

Fries are not as plentiful as they used to be. This is a little fry. $4.29 and no more than could fit in the cup.

I hate giving 5 Guys such a low review, but for the price, they are not what they used to be. The food is still good, but the prices have gone up while the fry portions at this location have decreased. I will not be returning to this one anytime soon.

47 min. Order was wrong. My shortest review, but really, are there any Other words are needed. Nope. Not. But second order was wrong too. 55 minutes now. Still waiting.

    Perfect food.

The food is genuinely good and delivers that nostalgic diner-style comfort that keeps people coming back. The #4 burger special (burger, fries, drink, and ice cream) is a great value and very satisfying. The burger is juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right, with a soft bun that holds everything together without falling apart. The fries are hot, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside--simple, classic, and done well. Ending the meal with ice cream feels like a throwback treat and is the perfect sweet finish. Paired with a cold drink, the whole special feels filling and well thought out. The chef salad with fried chicken was another pleasant surprise. The salad was fresh and generously portioned, with crisp lettuce and well-balanced toppings. The fried chicken on top was the highlight--crispy, flavorful, and clearly made with care, adding real substance to the dish rather than feeling like an afterthought. Where things get a bit challenging is the service and overall flow. Ye Ole Fashioned stays busy, and the constant stream of customers combined with limited staff can make ordering feel chaotic. There doesn't seem to be a single, clear system--orders are taken by whoever is available at the moment. While the system does work and food comes out correctly, it can feel confusing and frustrating at times, especially for first-time visitors. The staff works hard, but the rush can make the experience feel hectic rather than smooth. The ambiance matches the old-fashioned charm of the place--simple, no-frills, and very much about the food rather than polish. Once you understand how things operate, it's easier to relax and enjoy the experience.

The short answer is according to this facility no. First a message to all those fast-food restaurants, no one likes AI drive-thru! We want real people talking to us! So I put my order in and drove to the window which was of normal speed. The cashier was extremely nice, the only highlight of my visit. He was courteous and quick to swipe the card and give me my meal. For those who are reading this, I can't stress enough, check your bag before you leave. I ordered 3 mild chicken thighs with mashed potatoes AND gravy all of which I was charged for on the receipt. When I got home, I got two very spicy thighs and potatoes with NO gravy. Needless to say, I wasn't happy yet I came from a long way away so I wasn't about to go back. As for the food, the chicken was juicy at least but I can't do heat so it wasn't a pleasant experience. Then to eat potatoes without gravy is a crime in many cities; while I joke fast food mashed spuds are notorious for being bland. Without gravy there wasn't much reason to continue eating paste. At least the biscuit were decent. Overall, this facility failed on many levels namely being able to accurately take the order and make sure said items are in the bag along with ensuring the right items are identified. As for the food the chicken was average while the potatoes were subpar with an average biscuit. At least the staff was nice while messing up the order. In summary, avoid this place until more reviews can prove they know how to take an order.
