Well the only thing I can say good is the food is pretty good. They used to give you just about a whole bag of fries for a small but now a small is a small and it cost more money. Everything at this upscale fast food restaurant is so expensive. They do a good job cooking your food and with the presentation but the bill is like a Horror Story. If I'm looking for a quality fast food burger, then I'm going to Five Guys! This location is well maintained and fully staffed. The staff are kind and are prompt to get you your order! At this visit I enjoyed the jr. cheeseburger "all the way" and I paired it with the Cajun fries! Everything was cooked fresh to order so I had no worries that by the time I got home that it would still be enjoyable. Great food and service I recently ordered a burger bowl and they forgot to add a patty to the bowl. I was disappointed but the food was good. Since my northern Virginia days, I've been a perpetual fan of Five Guys. I can't place myself firmly in the "good" camp on the Summerville Five Guys, though. The food is inconsistent, and unlike the other Five Guys, they don't have milkshakes. That would be okay if the manager didn't rudely say "no" to customisation requests which other Five Guys have no problem doing. There was an incident, earlier this year, in which two hippies brought their two pit bulls into the store, with "service animal" clothes on them. Upon close inspection, it was revealed that they were "emotional support" animals, which aren't really service animals at all. Those dogs were dangerous and had no business being in that store (also a health violAtion), but when I respectfully brought this to the attention of the manager, explaining the faux service animal thing, he spoke to hippies and allowed the dogs to remain. I visited this location yesterday and the staff could tell that I hadn't visited their location before probably due to the multiple questions that I had regarding the menu Lol I wasn't really hungry and was just going to grab a quick burger to go. The manager saw me insert my debit card and told me that he would like to "buy" my burger today since it was my first time dining with them. I thought that was so sweet and very rare these days. You may have realized based on my prior reviews that one of the things that can turn me off about an establishment is when they "nickel and dime" their customers, they charge you .50 cents for an extra sauce packet or .75 cents to add caramel drizzle to your drink ect. So I was pleasantly surprised that the manager was willing to offer a guest something complimentary. My burger, I ordered a "single" burger with grilled mushrooms, sautéed onions, peppers, lettuce ect. (They offered bacon but I declined) The burger was slightly above average. The lettuce, seemed like iceberg and was not the texture that I find appealing on my burgers, gets soggy to easily. The bun was ok but didn't seem toasted or warm which would have been nice and though the burger was flavorful, I wasn't blown away by anything but the customer service on this visit. Wow, the cost of food has gone up as the quantity and quality has gone down. This is what $17.00 looks like from a realistic view. So sad that Five Guys used to be renowned for its overflowing fries and fantastic burgers that it has come to meager portions for single serving to get the buyer to up size to the larger size. Very disappointed in what it has become. Also, of the TWO boxes of bulk peanuts, one was empty and the other box was all stale. Another miss in my book. I hadn't been here for a long time due to the changes and I guess it hasn't made a difference. Next time I'll get better food and good portions at Culver's right down the road. I ordered a lettuce wrap burger and fries. The fries were old, super limpy and salty. Like I need to dust off the salt from it and it's sad. My burger is decent. Flavored and hot. The reason why I gave 1 star is because of the service. I come in there and no "hello!" or no greeting at all. The guy walked in the register and just stood there. He did not say a word. THEY ARE SUPER SLOW. It takes a lot of patience to wait on the food and there is no BACON. There is no sweet tea. There is no ice on the machine. I give this place a 0. The line was long I was ok. 4 people there working on a Sunday at1 I still was ok. Then the service was slow and the ticket printer stopped there was 20 of us waiting, the cook took a break manager went to the back and left with out ask or telling us what was going on. Now I was getting angry! I ask for the manager who was hiding out in the office, the cook came back out saying issue with printers, asked if people wanted a refund, the fry girl got everyone refund / order messed up. Well, what can I say about five guys that you may not already know. They do have a fine tasty burger burger, which is leaps and bounds ahead of McDonald's or any other fast food burger joint. I do live for the variety of free toppings and sauces you can add on to any burger. And for me, I add just about everything like lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions, mushrooms, jalapeno, spinach and cheeses. That makes for a great tasting burger with bbq sauce! And it's only a total of $5.87 at this Summerville location. So, the value and quality is excellent. The only downside here is the traffic and it's usually really crowded, hence the 4 stars. read more

Well I love there burgers! This was my go to spot when I lived in Northern Virginia. But the problem here is the portion of fries! I ordered a large fry received 3/4 of the cup full. Usually they add some on top but the last two times I have been there I had the same issue. If you go to any other Five Guys they will give you what you ordered and then some! Just like what you read about in the famous Five Guys articles. But I did not feel this at this particular Five Guys. I do not see consistency every time you go there you never know what your going to get. The folks at Five Guys take their fries seriously. Burger sat getting cold while waiting on fries for over ten minutes with zero explanation other than someone "not cleaning the fryers properly." My husband and I went in & right away we were greeted with a big smile from a young girl named Asia. Such a beautiful smile & very friendly. Ordered 2 burgers and an order of Cajun fries... watch the guy working put in clearly unseasoned fries into the bag. I give him a chance to correct it by asking as the bag is being handed over to me... "these are Cajun fries, correct?" Employee says yes. I figured I'd trust it then.. so went over to grab ketchup and decided to make sure my order was correct, and as I suspected they were not Cajun fries.
