A fun experience that would make an awesome date night, in my view. My daughter and I dined at Five Spice BBQ on a Saturday evening. We were seated right away, and the customer service set the tone from the start. Our server was warm, attentive, and especially great at explaining how the dim sum works here. She did not just tell us; she actually demonstrated it, shared cooking tips, and made us feel completely comfortable jumping in. She checked on us often, and the rest of the staff was also wonderfully attentive without being overbearing. The food came out quickly. One of the best parts of the meal was being able to order steak, chicken, shrimp, and lots of vegetables, then cook everything just the way we liked it. It made the meal feel interactive, fun, and special. For my daughter and me, it was not just dinner -- it was an experience we got to create together. A heads-up for first-timers: there is a two-hour table limit since it is all-you-can-eat, and they do charge a fee for excessive waste. As long as you are reasonable and order what you can realistically eat, you should be totally fine. $39 per person. Thanks to Five Spice for a memorable mother-daughter experience.

Impressed by the amount of AYCE selections for dinner only menu items which included dim sum items which are cooked to order. We were not overwhelmed by flavor enhancers in the meat, seafood, vegetables or dim sum selections . Every item was freshly available or cooked to order. Dim Sum items are not overly flavored enhanced. Kimchi items were authentic. The thought of grilling the fish wrapped in foil made the preparation and eating of the fish more enjoyable. Dessert items are not overly sweet. What a nice and enjoyable after dinner feeling to have of not being overwhelmed by flavor enhancers, sweetness or salty food. Provided with three dipping sauces (Soy, Soy Ginger and Miso). The staff was very attentive in turning on and off then back on the grill and swapping out the grill plate. The booth seating was cramped for leg room but most enjoyable seating area with a high solid wood seat backing as this prevented being disturbed by others bouncing on the seat backing. View pictures and read captions of recommended beef meet and dim sum desserts.

The food was decent, lots of meats to choose from. Service was okay--we often had to flag people down to get anything done (change grill, refill water, etc.). The atmosphere was okay, too, pretty family friendly. All in all, a good experience albeit a very pricey one.

This place is great! They have all you can eat dim sum and bbq, including appetizers like Korean pancakes and shrimp balls. The meat tasted fresh. The 3 dipping sauces go great with the bbq meat. Orders some vegetable side dishes and salad and you're set!

Came in during my late lunch hour to try it out as an Offline offer. Staff was super friendly and attentive. They do have a bento box menu but you have to request it. I got the bbq marbled beef, fried rice, spring roll, and pork dumplings box. Overall food was good. Beef could've been cooked a lil less and a lil more flavorful but all and all great experience. Will be back with friends to actually try the grill at the table experience

I went to Five Spice BBQ to celebrate a birthday, and it was a fantastic place to go out with a group of people! They really pull out all the stops by playing the happy birthday song over the intercom and bringing out a slice of cheesecake. On top of that, they offered a birthday special if you bring out a certain group size, the birthday person eats for free. This is an excellent All You Can Eat Korean BBQ style restaurant. You order different cuts of meat and cook it on the grill at the table. The menu is fairly extensive with beef, pork, and seafood. I particularly liked the beef cheeks and the shrimp here a lot! If you're looking for a break from meat, they have some dim sum options including rice rolls, turnip cake, and buns. It's solid, but nothing to write home about. Don't skip the fried Oreos and ice cream! I will rave about the service here. It was fantastic! Ordering on the iPad was so easy, and they were so quick to bring everything out and clear plates.I will definitely be back.

This place is FANTASTIC! All you can eat Korean BBQ AND Dim Sum, yeah you read that right, and before you ask, YES it was ALL delicious! The incredibly diverse menu with every meat and seafood you can imagine, plus some of the absolute best dim sum I've had. The soup dumplings are amazing don't sleep on those! The service was fantastic and the staff was on top of EVERYTHING. They made suggestions and recommendations that were welcomed and appreciated! The ambiance was delightful. Perfect for a girls night out! We have a pescatarian in our group and she was also very happy! Is it cheap? No, is it worth every penny? YES!!

This place is pretty great. It's $35/per adult for dinner prices. 12 years old and up are considered adults. Unlimited food for two hours. I really love the vibe with all the plants when you walk in, nothing like live plants and plant propagation to give a restaurant a lot of positive energy. You place your order on an iPad and within 2-3 minutes they usually bring everything out. My favorite is the beef fingers and head on garlic shrimp. Lamb, pork belly, cow tongue, brisket...all of it is good. The only thing I tried that I didn't like is the calamari but it's more of a texture and flavor thing. The staff isn't super knowledgeable about gluten-free options but basically anything that's not "BBQ" or marinaded is safe. Their three dipping sauces including their miso (which tastes like applesauce to me) is not gluten-free. I usually start with some crab rangoon and seaweed salad. The crab salad is made with imitation crab and has apples in it...it's different but not my favorite. Obviously you cook all of your own food with a hot plate in the. middle of the table. Foot room is very limited if you have mobility issues or like to move your feet around. You will be there for awhile, I usually spend 1h15m to 1h45m there. It takes awhile to cook all the food and the more people there the slower it will go. They will change out the tongs and hot plate anytime you ask, so if you're trying to do gluten free and someone cooks something that has allergens in it, they are happy to replace the items when you ask. Basically just order some meat and veggies and keep on ordering and cooking until you get the meat sweats lol. On your birthday you can eat for free but only with 5 other adults in your party paying full price. Cost for two people with two Thai tea's ($5 ea) plus tip is about $100. I've been here twice so far and the service and food was great both times. Will definitely be back in the future!

We came back again to celebrate another birthday, and were a little disappointed that a lot of the dinner items that were on the menu the last time we went (at least 3-4 items) were not on the menu this time . There was a soup even listed on the paper menu that we asked for and they said it wasn't available. Hopefully it will be more consistent going forward. I was looking forward to eating their custard bun for dessert and they didn't have it :/ Also, forgot to mention that they have different flavored ice creams as a dessert option as well

My favorite Korean BBQ spot in NC. I always come to Five Spice whenever I am craving Korean BBQ, it's the best! They offer many options to order from, including meats, veggies, apps, and much more. The service here is amazing! The staff here are very nice and welcoming to their guests, which I love, and the service is really quick as well. I always have a great time whenever I get to chance to go to Five Spice!

My kids took me tonight for belated birthday dinner. Korean bbq and dim sum. We tried most things of the beef selections, chicken, pork belly, shrimp, and veggies. Cooking at your table is fun and makes for some fun interactions. The staff were friendly and quick. All you can eat in two hours! Check this out!

Order off the iPad. Love that.

I need a few more visits before I can add that elusive 5th star. But wow, this place is a gem. To find dim sum at an ayce Korean bbq restaurant is quite wild. Meats and sides are good quality. I love that you order from an app. It's the best way to order from a Korean bbq restaurant. The food arrives at your pace and you never feel pressure to order when a server comes over. The vibes are cool and the ambiance is typical bbq. Parking is abundant. Not the best for groups but you can split into groups of 6 if you so desire. I like it a lot...

Lots of different options, my favorite was the different pork bellies and the LA Galbi was great as well. Also really enjoyed the little side dishes (반찬). I really love the interior, they seem to have a good ventilation system for each table with a grill, there's a bar and the tables are fairly huge. Not super loud either, each table is spaced apart thoughtfully. Now, I have to praise the staff here for their AWESOME customer service. If I could give a 100/5 for customer service alone, I would. This was like Michelin-level elite service. They refilled my drink, changed my grill for clean one, brought over sauces, Really loved the energy and personality of all the staff that I interacted with :). Also my main hostess, Samantha I think was her name, was next level service like better than some of the Michelin star restaurants that I have been to. Grabbed lunch from here recently and enjoyed myself!…read more The staff were polite and helpful throughout the meal. My wife and I ended up splitting the kimchi pancake as an appetizer, and we both got the beef bibimbap for our entrees. We didn't end up getting any interesting beverages this time, but there were a few draft and bottled beers available as well as soju, sake, and other variations of alcohol :) Anyway, our kimchi pancake arrived pretty quickly, and it was very tasty! I liked how the green onion was integrated throughout, and the dipping sauce was very flavorful. It looked like it may be a bit spicy but in fact was sweet-ish :) Our bibimbaps arrived soon after, served in hot stone bowls. In addition, they provided six different small side dishes, all of which were very tasty! I really enjoyed the variety, as they ranged from pasta salad to kimchi. Honestly, the bibimbap was maybe my least favorite part of the meal, which surprised me. It wasn't bad at all, with plenty of tasty veggies included, but it didn't blow me away. Maybe I should have added more of the bottled sauce they provided :) Overall, we both really enjoyed our lunch at Okja and would definitely come back!

I was good with that because the food was delicious and such good value. Shared 3 dishes between 3 people: seafood stew, ddeokboki, and spicy LA galbi. Loved all of the dishes, all delicious with substantial quantity and amount of veggies. If you've not experienced Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) previously, you're in for a treat.
