ALL RIDERS PLEASE READ AND PASS THIS ALONG I had this shop replace both the front and back tires and tubes on my HD 2024 Heritage Classic. The invoice states the tube was a Drag Speciality and I trusted it was. A few days later I was riding in Comanche County and the tube popped - the bike towed to a reputable shop in Stephenville (boneyard cycles) where the shop owner there discovered the tube was pinched and was NOT a Drag Speciality tube but more than likely an Amazon tube. I brought the tube to 5 Star where the owner Tony threw the tube back at me and said it wasn't his tube. I asked Manny his "service manger" if he backed up Tony and he stated "I wasn't back there when they replaced it". I asked to speak to the mechanic who changed it and was told he was on vacation. Never taking my bike here again, I went to them to get my oil done, work on switch board etc etc etc and when I got my back bike I could only ride it for a week then is broke down again. I paid for a diagnostic so they could tell me what's wrong. When I contacted them to tell them it's not working again they said "ok pay for another diagnostic and we will see what's wrong" mind you I was only able to ride it for a week (7 days total) before it broke down again. Why pay for a 2nd diagnostic when I did it the 1st time. Beware of the trap. And I went somewhere else and they told me all that's wrong with the bike and how to fix it all. read more

Usually don't write reviews , but these people are these!! I brought my bike for a diagnostic after my bike not turning on... I paid the diagnostic fee and the part I needed, turns out the part was faulty and that I would have to pay for another one!!!! My bike was in the shop for months I didn't mind ordering the part and paying for it again. In the end after 2 3 months they didn't do anything and the bike was just sitting in the shop!!!! Went here bcus Harley was booked out for a while and I needed tires asap. This was under a year ago, they now have around 7k on them. Went to inspect my bike last month, come to find out they're falling apart. It looks like dry rot, like they've been sitting for years. So, I call to see about a warranty claim through the manufacturer/supplier; that was a month ago... They're "still waiting for their supplier's response". To be clear, this is nothing to do with their workmanship but customer service, once you're f*cked they're not gonna anything about it. I brought in a 1948 Whizzer. Basically, a bike frame with a motor attached. Headlight was not working and I needed a bracket put on the front disc brake. They gave it back to me with the wiring all butchered. Blinkers now do not work, the horn doesn't work and the bike will not start. I asked what are they going to do to resolve these issues and the response was... "I will see if we can give you a refund". I took the bike home and I never heard back about a refund. I have included before and after wiring photos. I now have a motorbike that was working fine to not working at all. I had to get my rear wheel completely stripped to get a huge dent repaired elsewhere. The furthest I was comfortable getting was just removing the rear wheel assembly to have them work on it. They worked with me on getting the tire completely disassembled and hammering out the 15 year old bearing. I got it repaired from the wheel dent repair store by the next day and Five Star had the new bearings I needed ordered in already. They installed everything back together and balanced the wheel/tire within a couple hours. read more

Came in for a tire change and Margie was very welcoming and greeting. They have really good deals and their service is the best in the area.

Had new brakes put on. Five Star did not bleed them properly. The brake lever traveled 1/3 of its movement before any resistance was felt. Air in the line. Five Star never test rode after work was done. As a 40 year veteren rider, I totaled the bike in light rain the next day when the front wheel locked during easy braking. Two broken ribs and dislocated shoulder. Owner was very rude and despite the obvious brake lever travel said nothing was wrong. He then proceeded to charge me extra, unauthorized fees, which I had to pay before I could get my bike back. Get it in writing with this outfit and hope they do it right! There was no push for any other services, and I got to walk around the shop and yard while I waited. Thought I would take my motorcycle to professionals and was lured by optimism that they could repair it, only to become disappointed after a delay of a few days and then told that a special hundred dollar tool was needed for the repair and two weeks just to get it in. I paid the mandatory $65 just to lay their eyes on it for the exterior assessment. Anyway, took my bike out and fixed it myself for less than $7. Goes to show you that some of the best mechanics are the bike riders themselves. May God bless them for their deception. read more

I had just purchased front & rear tires online, so i didn't get the opportunity to take advantage of his fantastic pricing. His pricing + tax would have been less than I paid online+shipping. And if you buy tires through Five Star they will mount and balance for free. I paid $15 per tire to mount and balance which is easily the best deal i've found locally for that kind of work. Toni said it would take 30 minutes and he was exactly right. I grabbed lunch and they were done when I got back. Highly Highly Highly recommend this place for tire purchasing/mounting. read more

First, all I took in was a front wheel to have the tube replaced. They are polite, courteous, and professional. On top of that, they pointed out that the other tube was jacked up because it had been installed wrong. I lied and blamed someone else, because I was embarrassed (it was the first time I tried to do it myself). I'm sure they figured out that I did it, but just let it go, which allowed me to save face... Very cool. They were very quick and well priced. However your review was the best bad review I've read. For starters you are 100% correct about our mechanics needing to take more pride in their work. This industry there can be no slackers and no mistakes. Respect for another mans bike should be more important than the respect given to the man himself. I should have spotted the issues with the bike myself and I apologize for that. But please do not write us off so quickly. Yes first impression are the most important but sometimes things do not sync up and things just get thrown off. I have full confidence in my staff and I know that they can do better. Our mechanics have a safety fund in place that in the event they accidentally damage a customer property they can tap into the fund to pay to replace or repair that property.
