This was my first time taking my car for a repair with insurance. I didn't know how anything worked, so naturally I was concerned about getting taken advantage of. The employees at Fix Auto El Monte were very helpful and friendly and answered all of my questions. This was the best option for me as they are Subaru certified and work with my insurance provider, State Farm. It seemed random to go so far but was absolutely worth the commute from South LA. They handled everything with insurance and even negotiated for me to get a new door when insurance had only approved a used one. The repairs have a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the car. They also paid for my Lyft to and from the shop. They washed and detailed my car and even found a gold earring I had lost in there over a year ago. Wow! My (nearly brand new) Camry hybrid was rear-ended on the highway with not insubstantial damage. This place is State Farm certified, so I didn't end up paying anything but my deductible. Bill and David helped me out -- the entire job took a little over 3 weeks - it was a bit longer than the estimate, but they kept me posted on new dates and such. When I got the car back, I could hear a whistling when the car got up to speed, so I took it back the next day, and Bill drove around with me and figured out the issue, and it got fixed that day. Found them to be pretty good with their customer service and also getting my truck fixed in good shape. Actually, they told me it was going to be about 3 to 4 hours and offered to give me a ride back home. I said it was ok and that I'd wait around. Well after an hour and a half they were ready for me to take it back home all nice and fixed. It was also easy to file my claim with AAA and get reimbursement. I dropped off my Tesla Model 3 early June 2023 for a badly damage bumper and hood repair. It was completed at the end of August, nearly 3 months. During that time, the shop initiated 1 status update text that they submitted their estimate to my insurance and waiting for approval. It took a month to take the damage apart and submit the estimate for approval? I texted back asking how much was the damage and no reply. From that point on, I had to call every other week to get the status update otherwise I wouldn't know when or if I would get an update from them. When I got the car back, I noticed the bumper was misaligned. I brought it back and spoke to the manager, Tri. He acted like it was not their fault and it was some how Tesla's fault for making a bad car or something. He said to make an appointment to bring it back. He'll have it adjusted "free of charge" as if he was doing me a favor by correcting their own mistake. I brought it back and they kept it for nearly a week to adjust the bumper. No apology the inconvenience or anything. A few weeks after getting it back I noticed the hood had sunken about 1/4 in below the rest of the car. I decided to bring it back again. I spoke to Tri, the manager, again. He blamed it on the third party struts that I put on saying they were bad. I told him if they were bad why didn't you replace them when you replace the hood. They are all connected. Then he said the insurance wouldn't pay for them. I find that hard to believe that the insurance would not pay for 2 struts worth about $60 when they already approved a $15k repair. He then said if I buy the struts he would replace them "free of charge" 1 time with no warranty. It will take a whole day to switch out the struts and make an appointment This should only take about 30 minutes to do and he wanted to keep my car for a whole day. Again, he acted like he was doing me a favor by making me buy the parts to correct the shop's poor quality repair. Bad quality repair on top of worse customer service. I decided leave the car like that and not bring it back even though I still have the original struts. I don't want to deal with them anymore. read more
