I recently got my car back from Fix Auto after having some repair work done. My mom recommended this shop after having similar damage happen to her car so I took a chance and got an estimate. Manny helped me out and I feel like I need to tell everyone how amazing the work done was! Fix Auto basically redid half my car with a 3 stage paint and it looks even better then my car looked before having damage. Body damage was taken care of at a fair rate. It looks like from other reviews this business does good work. Unfortunately I didn't get far enough for them to work on my car. Called on a Friday and spoke to "Manny" who quoted me over the phone for a bumper exchange on a truck. I provided the make/model/year of the vehicle and explained what I wanted done (removal of existing front bumper and installation of new front bumper I had purchased already). I was quoted over the phone a certain amount for the job and told to come in on Monday morning. Came in Monday morning and was told the price was going to be about $200 more than the price quoted due to the way the bumper on my specific vehicle is installed. However that information was provided over the phone when getting the quote so the vehicle make/model/year should not have come as a surprise. In my business this is called a "training opportunity" and not something that impacts the client/customer. read more

Well, where do I start... My Jeep was hit when I was backed in at work. I didn't notice anything when I finally came out to go home. What I did, later, notice, after driving it west on main St was, my alignment was really off and when I braked it felt like the front-end was going to fall apart. Well since I didn't know what all was wrong with it I filed a claim with my insurance, they suggested going to Fix-Auto in Santa Maria so I agreed. As soon as my Jeep arrived at Fix-Auto the guys there were on it. They found quite a bit of damage.i thought to myself " dam, it's gonna be gone for awhile" well, was I wrong.. The guys there, AL, Isaiah, and even the owner, Hector was always in touch with me about my Jeep. That was great. I never expected the treatment from an automotive shop, that Fix-Auto gave me. This is the closest Geico certified auto body shop from Lompoc, at least that is what Geico told me. Al is nice, able to get me in and out when I dropped off my car, and I picked it up. I can say that this shop is good in responding to your calls, questions. They were able to fix the problem with my car. They used good old parts such as the side mirror, repainted and good to go. Paint was OK, I saw an issue but no big deal. it took them longer to get my car done, no big deal, at least it got done, right? When I got my car back, I noticed that the bulb on the headlight was not put back at all, it was just hanging inside. Good thing it is an LED bulb which does not generate so much heat, a problem with halogen bulb which could cause fire if it is close to something flammable like plastic or rubber, like wires. I was able to put it back, no problem. I also noticed the floor mat is stained with white paint, like someone stepped on a wet paint then stepped into the car. They said they will fix it when I bring it back to them. Overall, nothing major, just a little attention to detail will fix it. I would come back here again if I have to. I stopped by for a quote to repair damage to the back quarter panel of my 2022 Insight (oops) - the process was fast and they were able to schedule me for the repair. When I brought the car in, I was greeted and taken care of immediately. The car was 99% ready when I came to pick it up - they were finishing washing it, it looks like the car was cleaned IN and out! Everyone I worked with (I'm so bad with names) was wonderful. I needed to get my rental picked up and the shop took care of that too! I'm definitely pleased with Fix Auto Santa Maria. These folks did an exceptional repair job after my car was T-boned at an intersection. The result was better than showroom new. After a year and half I was experiencing an annoying vibration that would come and go within the driver side door. I contacted them an asked if I could bring the car down. They didn't blink. Horrible experience! They changed from Premier Auto Body to Fix Auto in Jan 2018. Same staff, same owner. I paid $651 for very minor fender body work, and paint matching of a front driver door and fender. The fender was not repaired properly to match the one on the other side. They did a poor color match which stood out even from a distance. The pictures speak for themselves. They rounded off a fastener, created dents, chipped and cracked perfectly good factory paint on a perfectly good door that had no reason to be touched. This during their botched attempt to fine adjust the painted front door. Turns out they called over a local paint supply store to "take a picture" of the car, and mix some single stage paint for them, which I had nothing to do with. When the paint came in they just sprayed it. Never bothering to do a test spray to verify the proper color match, which is standard practice to avoid ending up with fully painted panels that do not match the car. They offered a free respray, BUT only after I go out and match my OWN paint at MY expense no exceptions. Really? After I already paid my invoice in full for this job? This is their responsibility not mine. I paid already. They refused to take ownership of this and fix this on their end. So like an idiot, I spent weeks and more money out of pocket for more paint, reducer, and catalyst. I just wanted to get this over with and move on. Numerous trips back and forth between Fix Auto and the paint store. This time Fix Auto does a small test spray on a piece of metal each time, which they failed to do the first time resulting in this situation. Again, their fault not mine. I had nothing to do with it. After no fewer than three failed remix attempts with my own batch of paint, I knew I needed to go elsewhere. Fed up with this nonsense, I took the car to Fusion Colors here in Santa Maria. They proved to be a vastly more competent shop than Fix Auto. Finally the car was repaired and paint matched properly. Fusion did an amazing job. The paint match was spot on and matches the factory paint perfectly without "blending" into adjacent panels, which owner Hector aka "Mando" and staff at Fix Auto told me repeatedly could "never" be done as an excuse for their bad color match. Fusion corrected Fix Auto's pathetic paint match, repaired their fender body work which left a bulge in the repaired area, fixed the dents and repainted the chipped and cracked paint Fix Auto ruined on a perfectly good door that had no reason to be touched or disturbed. This damage cost me more money out of my own pocket to fix. Nicely displayed body repair certificates with body man Kenneth aka "Kenny" hanging in your office mean nothing, when you put out a bad product and carelessly cause more damage. Neither does 30 years of experience when you can't figure out how to adjust a Mercedes door properly, and I the customer adjusts it properly at home by myself. After the car was completed, I returned to Fix Auto in person to update them on the situation and seek some kind of resolution in a tactful manner. I was rudely greeted by shop owner Hector aka "Mando". His disregard for customer service was in full display. He had no interest in even talking to me. I tried to have a cordial conversation with Hector about this situation. All Hector did was argue with me, interrupt me, talk over me, and walk away from me while refusing to put the phone away from his ear and give me his undivided attention. Right away he questioned why I was even there since the car was already done by somebody else. He was not too thrilled about that. He asked what could I possibly want from him now? "Everything that went wrong with this car was because of you" he tells me to my face. Hector made it clear I was not getting any sort of reimbursement, and he tried walking away from me several times saying that everything was my fault. He tried to give me a stupid little lecture with a "lesson" from his father. Told me that I should just "Take this as a lesson learned". And before walking away from me he tells me "You and this little $600 job or whatever you paid isn't worth my time standing here having this conversation with you right now". And "There are many other more important things I should be doing besides standing here having this conversation with you". Despite Fix Auto's "Lifetime Warranty" on repairs, shop owner Hector aka "Mando" believes he owes me no amount of reimbursement or resolution for anything, including making me waste more time and money on additional paint, and causing additional damage to the vehicle that was not there before. Avoid this shop. Take your car elsewhere. This guy does not deserve your business. There are far more competent body shops in Santa Maria. read more

I signed on to Yelp and found that Premier Auto Body had stellar reviews and I was looking for a bit of the same magic that everyone else experienced. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I was searching for a top notch interior detail and I called Premier Auto Body and spoke with Hector. They said they would be able to do a complete interior detail of my Honda Odyssey including the shampooing of the floor mats and carpet. They also assured me that their guys would detail every nook and cranny of the vehicle all for the low price of $175. This sounded great! I dropped my van off at 845 am and was told that it would be all sparkly and new the following morning. I could not be happier. That is where it began to take a turn for the worst. I called the following morning and was told that the vehicle would be ready for pickup at 10 am, just 26 hours after I had dropped it off. We called at 10 and they said that the floor mats were still drying and that it would be ready for sure at 1pm. My wife and I showed up and much to my dismay the floor mats were still dripping wet and the interior of the van looked like someone took all of 20 minutes to wipe it down quickly. There were crushed cookies and various detritus under the seats and I found an empty water bottle under another one of the seats. I explained to Hector what I was promised and he stated that if I returned at 5pm that everything would be fixed. I quickly pointed out some of the problem areas and he assured me that he would make sure that his guys made it right. I hope your sitting down because when I returned at 5pm nearly 32 hours from when the car was dropped I found the same issues. I pleaded with Hector to make it right. He said something to the effect of "I guess your expectations were a little too high". I told him that I wanted to give him a chance to make it right to which he replied, "I have spent too much time and money on this already and my time is very valuable for this." He handed me the keys and then walked away. I was shocked. Sadly, I cannot recommend the men and women at Premier Auto Body due to their lack of detail on my car. For the second time lately I somehow managed to buy a used vehicle that a previous owner had damaged and was too cheap to have the painting done right. This, after the cars had a clean CarFax. After a Google search for body shops in the Santa Maria area I found Premier's excellent website. The reviews on Google and Yelp looked good so I called Hector on a Friday. Even though he was closed on Saturday he came to my house to look at my car to see if he could help. That was just the beginning of Hector's excellent, professional, friendly, competent customer service. Hector kept me informed by phone and by email each step of the process. Hector and his father are a pleasure with whom to work. Their shop, although nondescript from the street, is very well maintained. Best of all, their final product is excellent. They re-applied the clear coat and improved the paint on my car's drivers side doors. It looks almost as good as when it came out of the plant at Lexus Japan. To be fair (as with any repair shop, stereo installer, or other craftsman) I always double or triple the estimated completion time. I realize stuff happens. The two day job turned out to be five. Not a big deal, as I had other transportation (the Rolls was not in the shop). Also, it would have been good to know I would have to re-program my AM/FM radio and clock. Minor stuff. There are a couple of other things that need to be done to the beast, so I will be back! I highly recommend Premier Auto Body. read more

I had my first experience with Fix Auto in SM after I got into a car accident in February of this year. I was taken to Fix Auto because they worked directly with my insurance company (geico) and they said it would make things smoother. Well they took care of me quickly and told me my car would be ready in 2 weeks. I did not have rental car coverage, but I said ok as long as it was only 2 weeks. Well 2 weeks came and went and they kept extending the date. It got to the point they were no longer communicating with me and I had to call them every day to ask them about my car. It was always something wrong every day. Either they had ordered the wrong part, or they were "really busy" or they just didn't have an update at all and would tell me they'd be in touch. In the end, it turned out to be a month long repair and I ended up with over $1000 in rental car fees. Had I known they were lying and would take double the amount of time, I would've gone for a different repair shop. It was more than a simple inconvenience, it cost me an insane amount of money due to lack of communication and a lot of stress trying get answers from them. Take your car somewhere else. read more

First trip: Someone hit my wife's car in the parking lot then told her to go to Premier auto body for the repairs and she would pay for the work. We were happy with the quality of the work, good service, and reasonable price. * That word of mouth got us there and now we keep going back* Second trip: I smacked the driver side door into the speakers at the drive-in movies... again, good quality repair, service and price. Third trip: I was rear-ended and the insurance was involved. Hector knew every step of the way how things were going to play out and his knowledge of the industry really helped keep things smooth and easy. They kept the car a little longer than the original estimate, but that was because of the high standards that Hector put on the work. They got me scheduled in a reasonable time and kept the car for the amount of time they quoted me. Let's just say they get the one star because less is not an option. Took my car here as suggested by gieco for minor scratches and a small dent. Took a week & was shocked to find that I would arrive to pick up my car with new deeper scratches, bumper hanging off, a dead battery & they very noticeably painted over dirt/dust. In shock I take my car only to send it back the following Monday with promises of prefection, another week they have my car this time returned to my residence. Again bumper is not on right, there is a new dent and new scratches! Safe to say I did not go for round three. End up taking my car to Schuyler's in Lompoc being paid for by premier & they want to pick & chose what mistakes they are willing to pay to be fixed. Never EVER been treated so bad I took my Dodge Ram pickup to them for an estimate for a little body work and repainting and after waiting over 30 minutes for someone to even notice me, I got the royal runaround. They told me that my 2007 truck had rust that needed to be removed and welding done (really......rust!) and that they would have to strip the truck down to bare metal to get to everything and gave me a verbal quote of $8,000.00 to repaint my vehicle. I guess the owner needs to pay for his summer vacation with my truck. I ended up taking the truck to another shop in Santa Maria, and it will be finished soon at under $1500.00 with NO rust damage.
