My AC unit had been out for about 5 or 6 months now. I called out to multiple business trying to get a proper diagnosis and repair job. I got a few call backs and responses but only Fix Heating and Cooling came out same day. Eulises came out and was very knowledgeable about what exactly was going on. Within the first 30mins or so he knew what was the problem. My blower motor needed to be replaced. We ordered the part it came in a couple of days. During this time price was discussed and he gave me the absolute best price compared to all the other businesses. On the day of the repair Eulises called 30mins in advance before he arrived... got there and went to work immediately. Removed the old blower motor showed me how bad it looked and even took the fans to get it pressure washed as a courtesy. Once he arrived back to my home he showed me the new blower that he was installing. He explained everything about how it works... went back into the attic to put the blower in place. The City of Los Angeles Code Enforcement Unit came out for their semi annual inspection. Unfortunately, the wall heater/furnace was inoperable and need to be fixed or replaced in a short period of time. I connected the BBB Better Business Bureau and chose a couple of local contractors to fix the problem. I choose Fix Heating and Cooling. Day 1, they were responsive to my phone calls and questions. They assessed the heater and determined that it had far outlived it's life expectancy and needed to be replaced. Also, the contractor noticed the corrosion of the heater vent on the roof, that could be a safety hazard if not replaced. I had the other two contractors come out and assessed the problem, as well. One guy was about the same price. The other one was much cheaper but was not concerned about the safety hazard. I chose Fix Heating and Cooling, because he was professional, and appeared to be honestly concerned about the safety of occupants living at the home. I felt this was the right company day 1 and he did not disappoint us. He got us an expedited permit (required by the City), which required lots of paperwork and he did it all online. No delays! It is obvious that Fix Heating and Cooling, was a pro with working with City/Permits and properly installation the wall heater. They were done in less than a day! The City came out about 1 week later and we passed the inspection!! Fix Heating and Air is #1! They took the worry and hassle away from me and handled business, the right way. This review is long overdue. I've used Eulises (aka Big E) three times in the last couple of years and he has always gone WAY above and beyond for us. Big E is honest, professional, personable & stands by his word. The first time we hired Big E was because we were having some concerns with our AC unit. He came out, inspected and performed a maintenance cleaning. If I recall correctly, he replaced a small part. The fee was minimal and he took his time explaining our unit, it's age and what DIY things we could do to extend its life. The second time he came out was to diagnose and fix our thermostat. We ended up replacing our old thermostat with a new Nest system and I couldn't be happier. Big E took his time explaining how to use the system and the app. The third time we hired Big E was because we were having an issue keeping our Nest connected to our wi-fi. I had spent a significant amount of time trying to DIY diagnose the problem (I thought our wi-fi was the problem). Big E came right out and it took him 2 minutes to figure out it was the Nest unit itself. Because it was installed by a Pro in the first place, Big E handled the return and exchange for us. He even took additional time to peek in my attic to answer a question about my HVAC. There was no charge for this service call. Big E is a consummate professional. He takes his time to explain what he's doing and makes sure I understand. He's always quick to respond, his prices are more than fair and he's a personable guy. My A/C had been out of commission and since it's old, I figured best to replace it for something newer since repairing might not be so cost effective. So the call was to get an estimate for a new system. Eulises showed up on time. Took a look at my unit and said he could repair it and get the system going. Wonderful news. We agreed on a price and he said he wanted to test the fix to make sure it would do the trick. He made the part swap but realized there is a leak somewhere in the system. And now to get that diagnosis and repair done would be ball park of 2k. At that price, it's not smart to repair the old unit but to replace it. I appreciated the time he took to try to repair it. Seems like an honest guy. He will be getting back to me with an estimate for the replacement cost. I will highly take into account the first experience I had with him when making a decision on who will replace the unit. Please be aware DO NOT use the services of fix heating and cooling! On September 1st my AC unit goes out, after utilizing yelp and reading reviews I decide to message a few of the ac repairmen that have great reviews on yelp. Well Fix hearing and cooling was the first to reply. Eucilies (the owner) was great when it came to responding to my messages, he was literally replying at midnight confirming a appointment for the next morning! Great I thought I hit the jackpot. The next morning on September 2nd comes around and I contact Eucilies just to confirm the appointment. And he was even more amazing when on the phone with him. He went out of his way to FaceTime me and he wanted to see the ac unit in my home because he was in the supply store and he asked tons of questions before he even got to my home! Fast forward to Eucilies coming to my home to check out my ac unit! He walks in and he goes straight to work he takes a look at everything and informs me of the $50 diagnostic fee ahead of time which I agree to. After the fact he tells me he knows what the problem is and that he can fix it, he lets me know her needs to replace a few things, he needs to replace my filter, and he walks me thru everything which made me feel comfortable. He tells me with everything that I need to get my ac running it will be $230 (that's including the diagnostic fee) I agree and let him get to work! Maybe 30 minutes later Eucilies comes and tells me that everything is up and running and to turn my ac unit on! During this time we hear a pop! Eucilies turns to me and says this isn't good! He goes outside to the ac unit and low and behold he discovers the compressor is out. He now informs me that the compressor is the most important part of a ac unit and that it would be like $1300 to repair! I informed Eucilies that I don't have $1300 right now and that you just assured me that the $280 would take care of my problem! I asked Eucilies what happened to the diagnostic fee of $50 before you fixed the ac you told me you would be running a diagnostic and that's why I would be charge the $50. He's exact words were , "I didn't run the diagnostic fee on the compressor because it looked fairly new"! At this moment I was so pissed because he choose not to run a test he charged me for I was forced to pay for parts I didn't have to pay for! I had to go back in forth with him for 5 minutes about not doing good business for him to give and and nervously not charge me for the diagnostic fee! I still paid $185 dollars for new parts for a non working AC unit, and paid $15 for a filter he assured me he would be bringing the next (AND NEVER DID) it's over two weeks late! Eucilies is NOT HONEST, DOESNT FOLLOW THRU AFTER GETTING PAID, and DOESN'T DO GOOD WORK! I also challenge yelp to really investigate people's reviews and make sure it's not family! With all the recent rain we've had in LA, unfortunately I was awoken one night by a loud rain drop noise coming from inside my bedroom ceiling. Upon investigation, it was a steady leak coming from my roof in multiple areas throughout my house. On a Saturday, with not much notice, Eulises from FHC was able to come over that same day and assess and diagnose my problem very efficiently. It turned out to be a ventilation issue. When I remodeled my kitchen some years ago, an over the range microwave with the vent to the outside was installed incorrectly, causing my roof to leak. Eulises installed proper flashing, pipe, collar, and cap for my microwave exhaust in a a short two hours. Now, I don't have to worry about any leaks stemming from this microwave exhaust install.
