Went through SoCalGas to purchase a new tankless water heater & added installation. We were happy that Water Heater Warehouse (WHW) contacted us ASAP to schedule the install but they couldn't install until 6 days out: Two days before, we panicked thinking we might need a permit. Called to ask if we needed a permit for the new tankless water heater & spoke to Joey & he sounded unsure & said we don't need a permit because our install wouldn't have been scheduled if we needed one. Didn't give me the warm fuzzies so I googled & per our city's website, Yes, a permit & inspection are needed. We called the city & they were super helpful & reassured us that we can have the tankless water heater installed first & schedule the inspection later. So we called back & told Joey that yes, we need to get a permit & if they will be submitting the permit with their contractor number. He said yes. Hopefully he knows to check first instead of guessing & give customers the wrong info. We were happy with the removal of the old gas water heater & install of the new gas tankless water heater by Chris & his apprentice. Both super nice. After the install, the tankless water heater took forever for the hot water to come on for showers upstairs, even when I turn on the recirculator on the app. So annoying & feel like we're wasting so much water. We agreed for Chris to have it set to smart schedule where it will monitor our hot water usage for a week to develop a good schedule. 5 days later, we smell gas by the newly installed tankless water heater. Called WHW & Joey said to call the gas company. Gas company came out 4 hrs later & confirm that there indeed gas leak & he had to shut down the gas & tankless water heater. And told us to call the installer to come fix the leak. Just called WHW but of course they are closed & left a message with customer service. We thought it would go smoothly as they have great reviews but at this point, we would NOT recommend this company. Not sure if it's a faulty unit or faulty install. I'll update my review when we find out. We didn't pick this company. It was through purchasing the tankless water heater from SoCalGas. It's been a week & I still feel like I'm wasting water just waiting for the hot water to come on. read more

I called customer rep to ask for scheduling an assessment and I was told it's free due to a recent thermoset replacement only one and half months ago. Then they send a technician come over and check why the water heater tank doesn't work again, after 30min open everything and close up, he said there's nothing wrong, everything looks fine, then he left my house. After, he left my house, it seems the water heater get back to normal. And then the customer rep call me for a $89 assessment fee(I just paid $190 one and half months ago). What I suspicious about is there's something weird after the first replacement of thermostat that only support the water heater tank back to normal for a little bit more of one month? And I have to pay extra $89 for let it back to work? So what about next months, I will see you guys again? read more

My interactions with water heater warehouse was ok, then disappointing and then ended good. I connected with them as they were the fulfillment company when buying a tankless water heater through the SoCal gas marketplace. After two technician visits we had lots of phone calls back and forth with main office to keep rescheduling due to miscommunication on the clearance needed in garage since our garage was full of storage. Fast forward a month and I conceded to go replace back with a traditional tank so we wouldn't have to change any ducting in garage. My appointment on day of install pushed from 10-12noon, then 1-3, then 4-6 to are you sure you can't wait until tomorrow? Super frustrating for my tenant who waited all day for the install. However as bad as that comms was, we get that crews get caught up and stuff happens. Just sucks when you're on receiving end. Their office person named Sabrina called and made it right. She offered a discount for the inconvenience and bought my tenant dinner. That's customer service done right after an unavoidable inconvenience. I say that with the clean install and that gesture I'd recommend them to others because they did the right thing as a business. Could have easily gone down a one star/bad path but didn't. I saved the water heater warehouse because i had them flush my tankless water heater every year and they sent me email reminder. i recently called the office to book the tankless heater flushing for rate of $175 which is fine. the team of Sergio and another tech came by and they tried to come inside my home with their outside shoes on and i asked them politely to have foot booties. they told me they don't carry any booties and they told me wait until they go to their office to get them and come back... i'm like what...? i'm not waiting for them to bring back booties for another 1 hour so i just said it's fine and asked them while they were at my home, i had a concern on 2 bathroom showers temperature getting cold while using hot shower. Sergio mentioned it could be the check valve that went bad and need replacement, and the office will call me regarding the quote for the services. after they were done and a day passed by, i did not hear anything from the office. i waited until Tuesday and called the office to inquire about my concern and the lady spoke on the phone gave me a quote for 1 bathroom only. i asked the lady on the phone that i inquired about 2 showers and she said the techs only noted 1 bathroom. i said thats fine, i asked for the total quote again and asked her to give a follow up call regarding the quote. she told me she will check with the techs and get back to me. it's been 4 days and i have not received any message, email, or phone calls regarding my concerns... twice in a row. if i call the office to ask for my quote again, i know i have to explain everything over again and i don't want to waste my time and waste Water heater warehouse's time. if the business don't want your business, i have no problem with it. at least don't waste my time back and forth while i could have contact different services to get the quote sooner. i am no longer this company's customer and i have found better, smaller family company who cares about any customer regardless of the size of the services or job. if you are the owner of Water heater warehouse, please have a nice team meeting with the phone reps and technicians together so you guys are on the same page, so you don't waste customers time. read more

If you are in need of a tankless water heater, you need to go to so cal gas marketplace then order one from there. Water heater warehouse is the installer contracted through them, and they are fantastic. From ordering to setting up an appointment to installation took less than a week. Other plumbers were asking 7500 for install due to older pipes and location, but not Water Heater Warehouse. They encountered an issue while installing, but did not charge extra. What I initially paid is what they charged. (A flat installation fee. Since the order was through so cal gas market place the rebate was taken off the total and I did not have to submit a physical rebate potentially having issues later. ) Danny and the other installer did a great job. The heater is now in a clean area with shinny new copper pipes. read more

I want to let all Yelp viewers know that this company, despite the good reviews, does NOT provide free on-site estimates. They only provide phone estimates for a standard, storage tank gas water heater. For anything else, they charge. I am proactively looking for replacement of my current 10-year old water heater so I called and requested an on-site visit for them to make a recommendation proposal for the best option, standard storage vs tankless vs heat pump water heater, given my space and electrical setup. First, I was told that someone would call me back after she came back from lunch. Then a few hours later, I get a text msg from a Joey B at the company asking for a photo of the current water heater setup. When I again asked for a callback, Joey told me that they only provide a free estimate if it is on the phone and only for a storage tank gas water heater. I don't make decisions based on estimates given on the phone. Anything else costs $89 for an estimate. I would consider paying $89 upfront, to be applied to the total cost if I eventually purchased from them--but I wasn't offered this. Ended up calling SoCal Gas emergency hot line and they sent a technician to fix the leak. He said we did the right thing by leaving the garage door open and called them. She reassured me that there will be no hidden fees or added cost since the price already includes labor, fittings, hot and cold flex lines, gas valve, gas line, gas sediment trap, earthquake straps, drip pan and haul away/disposal of old water heater. Everything will be done up to code. They have the best warranty in labor and parts compared to other quotes I received as well. After scheduling with WHW, Arturo and Chris came out to install the water heater. They arrived within the allocated time slot - friendly and professional. They were happy to let me watch them work, answered all the questions and educated me on how my new water heater works, where are the shut off valves during emergency, how to check my pilot lights, how to adjust my water temperature and check my status light for trouble shootings in the future. I had them replaced my water heater 3 years ago, September 14-15? Of 2022 around 11:30am. Look I'm just a simple girl, trusting you to do your job and not screw me over. We are already living in a messed up world where you get screwed already but why do I need to pay you to screw me??? At least let me know before it happens. My water heater was leaking. They came out the next day on time. They did not have a 50 gallon heater on the truck (I did not confirm w/them that I needed that size when I called). They said no problem. One tech stayed behind and prepared and readied the parts needed to install while the other drove to get the new heater. When the new heater arrived they took out the old one installed the new with all new water lines & new valve, gas line & valve and earthquake straps. 2 hours from start to finish!
