Went in person and the employee said the 90k service was $300+ when the advertisement said $150, sharing that the more miles made the price go up (even though the same services would be applied). Prices for adding on breaks and rotors also were outrageous when compared to other local shops. As a customer looking for transparency, this was not a shop I would spend my money with. read more

Beware of this dishonest place, I had diognostics done in my car here and later found out some parts were measing like the skid plate among other personal items. Also A sensor was claimed to be replaced and was never replaced.The owner has no ethics or values as he assured me everything was ready. He also suggested other services like changing brake pads when they were half way through. I will be reporting this fraudulent " business to the BAR( Beuru of automotive repairs) I don't want this to happen to anyone else. I wonder if there was a change in ownership. I did not see any familiar faces when I went there this morning. The problem with my car is most likely the O@ sensor. The put the car on the rack and the guy comes in and tells me it's one of the catalytic converters. { the car is a V-6 and has one on each manifold.} He tells me it's going to cost $1,700.00 and take all day AND he claims the car has FOUR catalytic converters. I had a similar car a while back and I paid $1500.00 for both converters and it tool only 2 hours. That's how I know this clown is full of shit. Went there with a coupon for an oil change. Was there before the shop opened. You pull in thinking the bays belong to Fix-N-Smog. Guy named Shawn was walking around preparing to open at 8 am. He saw me and nodded. Doors open, I go in show coupon and give him my key. He comes back in and tells me to check my car because it got damaged from the bay door going up. Apparently the bay doors on the left belongs to America Tire but no signage tells you this After I gasp from seeing the damage Shaw then tells me I should have known it belonged to America tire. When I spoke to the owner of Fix-N-Smog and asked why they wouldn't have warned me he said two things. 1. I should have known. All his customers know and 2. His employees weren't that smart to warn me to move. America Tire said Fix-N-Smog never has places to park but also would not accept responsibility. Even though there is no signage indicating you shouldn't park there. $1600 damage for a $49 oil change. You decide if this is a place to go to for repair I enjoyed readings your response and the praise of your next door neighbor, America Tire. Before you post know the fact. I did not ask you to cover the cost. The.only thing I asked of you was to protect your customers. If you know the bay doors open and you see a car parked there, please say something. Second American tire did not pay for the damage. I sued them in small claims court and Six months after the accident I was awarded a judgement against them. They then paid. Wow read more

Also, while waiting id seen a person waiting on his vehicle for an oil change be told he had a serious oil leak. Took my lexus in for oil change, took a 5 quart bottle of motor oil and filter. 2 weeks go by and cars running hot. Check dipstick no oil. Take it down there and the one of the guys checks the dip stick and says you have no oil. The guy who runs the place, the one who is void of any emotion says "your car takes 7 1/2 quarts you only brought 5." I said "And you didnt tell me" which he replied "I thought you knew". Now Im feeling sick to my stomach cause I had them do a transmission service on my car weeks before and since then i have no reverse and cant get past 3rd gear. I looked at him and said is there enough transmission fluid in my car and he just stared at me. No dipstick its a sealed transmission. I take the car directly to midas and ask them to drain trans. ".8 of a quart drains out all black" I been going to shops in this town for 35 years and dont know any that would not let me know, much less drive off with insufficient fluids and not bring to my attention. I dont know what to do about car. Im making report with Bureau Of Automotive Affairs. My biggest investment in 20 years is no worthless, me pushing the car out of parking stalls with onlookers "priceless". I wouldnt even recommend this place to put air in your tires. I have been going to Alex at Fix N Smog for several years now. I have 4 cars to maintain, so I always do my due diligence on pricing and reliability. They are always the best price and I have been happy with all their repairs. I am writing this review because my recent visit proved that Alex is a stand up guy. This recent repair included 3 replacement parts, but when I got my car back, my wife noticed a whirling sound in the driver's seat. This sound could only be heard at idle and only in the driver's seat ... very odd. We suspected the sound was the new Aisin water pump (best brand), but was not exactly sure. I could not hear the whirling when listening to the engine with my ear next to the part. No issues with the engine, no over heating and no leaking while driving it for a week. I knew it would be a pain to do over, but Alex wanted to make sure my wife was satisfied with the repair and took care of it. Thank you Alex and his mechanics! read more

Since there is no designated parking I pulled up parked my car on a spot that I would not block other cars. Walked in and the guy at the counter just stood there. (No greeting) I let him know I was there for a smog check. Looked at me and said are you gonna wait. I asked for the estimate Wait time and he answer with a IDK an hour or two. Looks to see where I was parked and tells me you gotta move your car. My reply where do I move it to. He says to me I don't know but that's not our side. Asked him again is there a spot for your customers and just tell me park in front of the trash cans. Went to my car and drove off. Talk about being RUDE. I had the worst experience here! I brought my car in for a simple oil change and smog check. The man who helped me was rude, mean and had absolutely no personality. My car had been parked in the same spot at my house for months (yes driven every other day or so) with no evidence of an oil leak.. they tried to tell me it was a massive oil leak and that I would need to pay over $650 to get it fixed.. that was a lie! I immediately felt there was something sneaky with this place the second I encountered that rude, unprofessional excuse for a human being man. I told him I could not afford to pay for that and to just do my smog and oil change. He rolled his eyes at me and told me to come back in an hour.. so I came back and of course, my car "did not pass" smog, so I asked what the codes was he said he would charge me more money to tell me what the code is , I googled it found out what it was in front of him, then gave him my coupon for the service and he proceeded to try to make me feel stupid in front of everyone in the shop, because I didn't not tell him I had a $10 off coupon at the beginning( like it freaking matters!) I told him he was being rude and customer service can go a long way, he argued with me about how he was treating me, not even an "sorry didn't realize how my words and actions were making you feel" nope not one apology or like he even cared! So he took my money, and I immediately went to another shop to have them check my "major oil leak" the other shop said there is absolutely nothing wrong with my car and it doesn't not cost anywhere near $650 to fix what I needed fixed , if my car really needed it, but it didn't not! He obviously was trying to take advantage of the fact that I seemed like a "dumb" female that wouldn't know anything! I will be reporting this place and pressing criminal charges against them! I know I'm not the only person these crooks have preyed on and I won't be the last until they are shut down! DO NOT! And I repeat DO NOT take your vehicle here! Well I went back on a Wednesday and was told the Smog Check machine was broken and to call later to see if it was working again. I decided to go back on Saturday. I was told they don't do smog checks on older cars (my car's a 97) even though they smogged it two years ago. No explanation or anything. Two weeks ago, I brought my 2006 BMW in for a smog test and 4 new tires. Alex was able to give us an amazing price and didn't push us to to make choices on unnecessary repairs. A few months ago, I was driving this same car and someone pulled up beside me and told me I had no brake lights. I just happened to be by the BMW dealer in the Santa Ana Auto Mall , so I stopped there because it wasn't safe to drive home. It turned out that all my lights had burned out and I had to leave it overnight to get the repair complete. The Dealer took the car through a check-up and sent me a video and estimate of what they said was wrong with my 2006 BMW. They wanted me to do over $15K in repairs on a vehicle that has a Blue Book price of $3K! WHO DOES THAT???!!! I honestly love this place so much! My family has been coming here for years and we always know we're going to get amazing service and a great deal. This last time I worked with ALI to fix my motor mounts. Service was done so quickly! When I went to drive away, car was acting funny so ALI got right on top of seeing what was wrong. Early the next morning was told it was my spark plugs and they were already working on it. I had my 2 girls with me and ALI was so friendly and sweet with them and made waiting for my car fun for them.
